Good but could be Better - Dallas Edwards Dowdy - Aug 23, 2009 - Report this comment
Any word on an update to this gadget? If you could do the full expand, it were a bit prettier in design and it had a "refresh" button much like the Google Reader gadget, I think this would be the PERFECT gadget. :D (or even if each tab refreshed when you switched to it, that would be nice as well).
I'm having no problems with this in Firefox or IE6, it just works :) My only minor complaint is that for some reason all the tabs are two lines high on Firefox when they're only one on IE6, which obviously takes up less space.
I have multiples of this gadget running which really help me group like things together (news, dinner planning, fun stuff etc.) It's really useful in keeping my page more clean and organized and still have a large variety of gadgets.
cant expand a gadget to canvas view when it's in a compound gadget. boo.
Great gadget, but just one problem... - Anonymous - Jun 19, 2009 - Report this comment
I love the way this gadget has organized my home page, but I just have one complaint. Somehow, I'm not able to adjust the settings for any of the widgets I've placed inside the compound gadget. When I click a tab's arrow and choose "Edit Settings", nothing happens. I actually have to remove the widget from the compound gadget, change its settings, and put it back in the gadget. Fix this problem, and it would be perfect.
Great gadget, but it's a shame the share function of the fullsize Google Reader is lacking. If that were included, I could easily do all my googling, mailing, reading, planning and twittering from one basic page.
When I organize my google app start page. It can't work in "Google Start Page Editor". I add 3 this gadget, when I save it, it will only one still there.
Don't know what the complaints are about. This + the gReader integration means I can squeeze dozens of news feeds into a nice little box. Just wish I had heard of it sooner!
This gadget is like a lot of others for iGoogle. A good idea, poorly tested, no support and inconsistent results. The Gmail tab was changed a few days ago, now seems to impact the other tabs in odd ways and the layout is exceptionally clumsy. I will keep using it for a few more days without the Gmail tab, probably its most useful feature.
Compount Gadget keeps things tidyKojak Edwards - Sep 24, 2008 - Report this comment
I really like this gadget. In fact I've added 3 of them with 4 tabs each. However, as others have mentioned, it is not consistent with it's operation. I just loaded a new gadget called GoComics. When left in the open, i.e. not within Compound Gadget, I can maximize so I can read the strip. When placed within the Compound Gadget, I can not longer maximize to read the strip. I write to the author of GoComics and he tells me "The problem I think you are running into is that the compounding gadget you are using probably does not support the "canvas" view. I have testing the compound gadget with other gadgets which support the canvas view and it fails there as well." He also wrote this:"If you are interested in trying out version 2 of iGoogle...Note: there is no going back." But the no going back thing is scary! What does it require to make ALL tabbed gadgets work within the Compound Gadget? Your guidance is appreciated. k
I really like the idea of this gadget, and I was especially pleased with it at first. But after a few days or so, it hasn't been working as well. I get maybe one or two tabs to come up consistently, but when I go to the tab for the others, it doesn't seem to "open" to it at all. It's like it thinks there's nothing there (no space for updates or anything else). I hope you can fix this gadget :)
didn't work then lost the gadgets when I removed it... frustrating...

click on My Account on the top right. Then click on Settings next to iGoogle. On there you will see a list of all your installed gadgets. Find it and delete it.
Remove an added gadget helpPenny Bennett - Jul 18, 2008 - Report this comment
I added the tornado watch gadget now it wont load and causing my google page not to open just hangs there. Rebooting doesnt help. Just need to know how I can remove this from my page
Love it but it would be great if it included a single link to the host site at the top rather than just the links contained within the feed. For instance including a link to www.foo.com for the feed that contains foo feed links.
