I love this gadget and use it despite the fact that it loses my information about once every two weeks. If not for that, it would be the best gadget on iGoogle. I'd also like to suggest that it add the ability to track number of steps, as well as time, for those of us using pedometers. Thanks you.
This gadget allowed me to enter weeks of walking then quit functioning! Now one cannot even reinstall and start over because it no longer has a blank for entering minutes. Don't use it; this was a great gadget until it ceased to function. Now it is useless.
There is no longer a space to load minutes to get credit for walking. Why don't you fix it. It was a great gadget while it worked. Now it is worthless.
This gadget will no longer go to its assigned space and others will not also until it is deleted. It is no longer allowing minutes to be entered after walking; ther is no space. Reinstalling does not improve function.
All of a sudden, there isn't a blank to enter my number of minutes for a given date. I deleted and reinstalled, and it still doesn't work! I was on week 14, so this is disappointing.
This program has it's problems with lost data and loading errors. Runs like our government and they don't control it just yet! Cleveland Clinic has an excellent track record and should disown the program or improve the stability. Thanks!
Lost. Data. Again. - mark@pomerleau-paul.com - Feb 6, 2009 - Report this comment
Second time I've lost data after a week and a half. Wish I had read the comments before I started. I think I'll go to a pencil and paper.
I was in my 11th week and now my data is gone! I really wanted to participate. Google should allow everyone that lost their data to participate in voting. Its the least they could do.
Widget seems to reset its self every two weeks or so ... needs a fix if i am to keep using it ... If it's really Cleveland Clinic they will have the resources to get it fixed ... Jim
After 12 Weeks, my Data Walked out of Sight - Anonymous - Sep 15, 2008 - Report this comment
Data lost is just too common! Just copy the schedule from the "more options" and pick a rate for walking. Too aggravating a gadget to rely on. If Cleveland Clinic went to a web based site maybe I'd use them. But not anymore!
This time I lost data in the 11th week with over 130 miles walked. I can't find a way to contact Google to try to retrieve. I liked tracking my daily walks and wanted to participate in the grantmaking.. now what??? Users need to trust that their data is safe!
I waited all week to start enter data since you apparently can not start the program mid-week. Two days of use and I sign on and all my data is gone. You state that you are fixing the data loss problem on July 28th and over a month later it is still not working nor have you communicated on what you are doing to fix the problem. Do you have a time frame in mind? Cleveland Clinic is one of the premier hospitals in the United States and you are unable to offer a quality product for people to use? I was interested in the program because of an article in the Plain Dealer and the reporter certainly didn't do his due diligence. I would say they reprinted a press release from the Cleveland Clinic.
I did nothing and mine disappeared. I was in the 14th week and really using it. I'm very disappointed to lose it all! Help!
Where did my data go?jude.laurenson@omg.co.nz - Sep 3, 2008 - Report this comment
Hi I have been using the 'Walk for Good' tracker for the past 15 weeks. I flipped inot the detail of the gadget to find out what happens next and when I flipped back to my Google page all my data had disappeared and it was asking when did I want to start. Can you help? I have found the tracker helpful in keeping me motivated but I won't if it thinks I'm a beginner. Regards Jude
Want to change the week starting and here are the instructions from the FAQ page, but where is the "More Options"? Simply click "More Options" and then select "Restart the program." Then, choose the week you want to repeat and then, when Sunday rolls around, you will be back at the beginning of the week you selected. Looks like the gadget was released before being tested with the other reported problems.
Frustrated, lost data 3 times, bad system good motivator - Janet Reynolds - Sep 1, 2008 - Report this comment
After walking the program for July and August, all the data is gone. How disappointing and discouraging!! Isn't there some way for all that work to be retrieved?? Please try. . .
Waited a full week for my data to come back. Emailed Google, and even Oprah, about the issue, bug received no responses. I'm really sorry I won't get to participate in the Walk for Good voting, but I've restarted the gadget since it is a good motivation for me

too bad Anonymous - Jul 4, 2009 - Report this comment
could be a nice program, but it's a waste of space since it's defunct and no one appears to be responding to comments or requests for fixing it.

I've been very motivated by this gadget, but now I can't enter my walking time anymore. What's up?
Was having a great time until your gadget quit working on my 14th week!
