Doodle 4 Google

Doodle 4 Google

At Google, we like to reflect the ever changing world of our users through the logo designs on our homepage. These "doodles" celebrate different people, events or special dates and, until now, have been designed by our original Doodler, Dennis Hwang. This year we asked students around Ireland to create their own doodle around the theme 'My Ireland'. We are delighted to reveal our national finalists and overall winner.

2009 Winner

The winning doodle is from Evan O'Sullivan Glynn from St. Munchin's College. It will be displayed on the Google homepage in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and, of course, Ireland on St. Patrick's Day.

My Irish Roots

My Irish Roots

"On St.Patrick's day Irish people around the world celebrate their connection to Ireland "The Emerald Isle". "My Irish Roots" represents this connection with how shamrocks trace back to their roots in the same way that Irish people throughout the world trace back to Ireland, their Ireland, my Ireland."

National finalists were Louise Gilmore from S.N Muire na nGael, Marcela Ponikova from St. Clare's NS and Orla Gartland from Dominican College.
