Work Experience

Staff Researcher, Mobile Communication Company, Tsushima Electric Corp, April 2002 - current

Japanese Input method - Designed and implemented a prototype for predictive Japanese input method client for mobile phones. It archieves small memory footprint and relatively simple computation.

GIS project - Built a demonstration system for location-based information delivery service. Designed widely distributed backend system and privacy proctection mechanism on it. This system had been tested and evaluated it in Yokohama area in 2002-2003.

Staff, Mobile Communication Group, Tsushima Electric Inc. April 2000 - March 2002

Implemented a bar code reader subsystem for TEI-501i, leading group of 5 engineers. Designed a library of image processing functions for detecting bar codes from the captured pictures.

Built a large scale speaking Japanese corpus (lead a team of three).Designed the automatic new word detection system for Corpus Builder and wrote the main module of it. Distributed processing platform for Corpus Builder(myself): it allowed 64 Linux workstations to build the corpus.
