Content Types: Point of Interest

A "point of interest" is an interesting or useful location anywhere on the Earth. Points of interest (POIs) include parks, statues, recreation areas, hiking trails, airports, hospitals, schools, and much more. When a user searches for a point of interest, Google provides descriptions, photos, reviews and links on Google Maps, Google Earth and Google Web Search. For example, within Google Earth, the "Layers" panel contains a variety of data points of geographic interest that users can select to display over their viewing area.
When you share points of interest content with Google, you invite more interest in these destinations. As a content aggregator, you can provide us with POI content and promote local tourism while driving traffic back to your site.

Publish point of interest content

If you're a content aggregator, use the Local Enhanced Content form to tell us about your point of interest content. Your content could be displayed on Google Maps, Google Earth, and Google Web Search.

If you have dynamic point of interest content such as events, you can create a Mapplet. Mapplets are mini-applications hosted by Google Maps that puts your content in a geospatial context.
