As part of Google’s ongoing commitment to encouraging women to excel in computing and technology, we are pleased to introduce the Brazil Women in Technology Award to recognize and reward deserving female students in Computer Science and inspire them to become active participants and leaders in creating technology.

How to apply

You should complete the online application form and attach all requested documentation from Monday, July 20, 2009 to Tuesday, September 8, 2009. In October, applicants discover whether or not they have been short-listed. Short-listed applicants will have phone interviews with representatives from the Google Selection Committee. Women in Technology Award Winners will be selected from the short-list in November and will be invited to visit Google Belo Horizonte in early December 2008 for a networking retreat which will include workshops with a series of speakers, panelists, breakout sessions, and social activities.

Recommendation letters

Two referral letters (in English) from individuals who are qualified to evaluate your academic and community accomplishments, preferably on official letterhead. Please print and give this recommendation letter (PDF) to your two referrers. It includes a description of the scholarship and suggested focal points for your letter of recommendation.

About the Google Women in Technology Brazil Retreat

Google Brazil Women in Technology Award winners will receive a prize and be invited to Google Brazil in Belo Horizonte for an all-expenses paid retreat spanning a couple of days.
