Google and Teach for America
Google is proud to partner with Teach For America to support their efforts to effect change and improve educational opportunities in American schools.Teach For America is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and become lifelong leaders in expanding educational opportunity. Currently, over 4,000 corps members are teaching in over 1,000 schools in 22 regions across the country; more than 10,000 Teach For America alumni continue working from inside and outside the field of education for the fundamental changes necessary to ensure educational excellence and equity. In recognition of the strengths exhibited by Teach For America corps members and their strong commitment to education, Google is offering two-year deferrals to individuals who are accepted into Teach For America’s program and who also receive a full-time offer to join Google. In addition to being able to defer their Google employment, participants in the program will be paired with a Google mentor, who will work with them throughout their teaching commitment. After completing their commitments in the classroom, participants will start their full-time roles at Google.
To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need to impress both our organizations. You will need to apply and be accepted to both programs separately to ask for and be granted the automatic deferral. The first step is to submit your applications. Visit Teach For America to learn about their application process and deadlines and check out our full-time opportunities or look for us on campus.
