Judges

Choosing winners from so many beautiful and diverse entries was no easy task. We therefore scoured the international photography community to assemble a world-class panel of seven judges:

• Curator and writer Susan Bright, whose highly acclaimed books include Art Photography Now and Auto Focus;
• Elina Brotherus, one of Finland's best-known artists, whose self-portaits and photographs of figures in landscapes have been exhibited internationally
• South African photographer Zwelethu Mthethwa, whose work has been exhibited all over the world, including at the Venice Biennale in 2005;
• Indian photographer Dayanita Singh, who describes herself as "a bookmaker working with photography" - she has published 10 books and has had many international solo shows;
• American photographer Joel Sternfeld, winner of the Citigroup Photography Prize 2004 who is best known for his colour photographs of America;
• Norwegian photographer Terje Sorgjerd, whose landscape pictures have been featured in National Geographic magazine and the Wall Street Journal;
• Nigel Hurst, CEO of the Saatchi Gallery, London.
