We love to hear from our users because it reminds us of why we're doing this in the first place... to create a better email experience.  And there's still so much to do.

"I don't have any sort of miraculous story regarding my use of Gmail. It hasn't streamlined my live or saved me from certain destruction. It does, however, fill me with a certain type of happiness whenever I use it. This is a very specific type of happiness that only comes from using a product/service that instills me with the notion that what I'm using has been thoroughly thought out with me in mind.

All the features of Gmail excellently combine to create a truly pleasant webmail experience that I haven't seen anywhere else. Shortcut keys, message grouping, really cool spell check, the quickness with which pages display, everything is just nice. Thanks."

"I can't handle how amazing this service is. I have, in the past week, corresponded (actually 'written' letters to friends and family) due to the overwhelming facility of the drop-down email feature. Add to this the benefit of all of the webspace you get, and I have found an infallible email source. I'm blown away by it. Congratulations, Gmail. And thank you."

"I have been using [Brand X mail], combined with my university email, for the past 4 years. Despite my frustration with [Brand X], I was extremely resistant to change providers for several factors. First, the hassle of giving out my email address to everyone just didn't seem worth it. As well, I had so many contacts saved. I didn't want to start all over again. On the other hand, I am continually frustrated by the lack of space on [Brand X]. I don't want to spend time archiving emails or sending large files via another account. When I heard about Gmail, I was immediately open to the possibility of going through the hassle of switching over. However, it proved easier than I thought. I had never heard of importing my contacts. The major draw to switch is the storage space and archiving capability. I feel like I can have a history of correspondence without being constantly reminded that I am close to my storage limit with the threat of returning emails sent to me. Gmail is great! I am so glad I switched over."

"Gmail has definitely changed the way I do mail - it's turned my email into a usable resource with the way it threads conversations and allows me to keep and refer to information without having to maintain a complicated filing system on my computer. Gmail rocks!"

"Gmail saves me time. With my old email account at mail.com there are so many pop-ups, graphic advertisements, and graphics in the user interface that I spend considerable time, first just getting access to the pages, and then closing all those pop-ups. Like the cat in the hat the pop-ups always come back to annoy me even more. The time it takes to load the pages is particularly long when I'm on a slow bandwidth connection. I truly appreciate the simple and elegant design of Gmail."

"I love Gmail because it is providing me a way of archiving my children’s emails without having to delete them anymore. My children are young and are growing up so fast. They send me many lovely emails that I cannot archive because of space problems. And now I won't even have to worry about that anymore.
Thank you for creating such an opportunity for busy mummies like me."

"I have to say thank you for having the related links displayed next to emails. I emailed a company about a computer part and next to the conversation thread was a list of a few different sites offering similar products that I didn't know even existed. I checked a few out and found a different product I needed for 10% less then what I was planning on spending! You guys (and gals) are the best! Thanks so much!"

"I just experienced a "first"with Gmail: the elimination of nasty gnarly Spam! Over the first few months of Gmail use, I had received not one piece of Spam. But today after logging into Gmail, I noticed my Spam folder had 19 new messages! I was very pleased to note that no valid messages had been filtered out; all the valid e-newsletters to which I subscribe had been correctly left in my Inbox. Outstanding freakin' performance!!! I'm more and more impressed by Gmail each day, and am proud to be a member and Beta tester. My experience w/Gmail has moved me permanently away from my SMTP/POP based email of my ISP thanks to a worthwhile, outstanding, web-based mail client. Keep up the great work!"

"As an auction site regular, Gmail allowed me to separate my email from my auction emails. This saves a lot of time. Thanks Gmail!"

"Hi. This is not a question, but just a THANK YOU for the way you touched our lives today... Today, my wife and I learned that our 8 month old son has a pretty severe ear problem with very likely long term consequences. Right after our appointment with the doctor in France, we sent an email to our families... informing them about all the details of the situation. We have been emailing back and forth during the day, and in the last email I noticed the VERY RELEVANT ads on the side of the email... I am very thankful for this relevant information. As a result of one of these ads, we have been able to find a doctor that might be able to greatly help us with our little boy's ear. It was a little bit of good news in an otherwise sad day for us. Thanks guys."

"People adore Google. It's as if the company can do no wrong ;-) I feel very much the same way with Gmail. The simple interface combined with a conversation style messaging system has made email more personal. It's a perfect form of delayed instant messaging. Also since it's a website, I can check my conversations anywhere instead of being tied down to my computer. Thanks to the entire Google team for taking the time to reinvent webmail... for the better."

”I work as a webmaster in a little hospital. My boss used to shout at me because he sent me important documents to put on the website and they were always sent back to him (my mailbox was full).

Since I've got a Gmail account, he loves the way I manage the tasks he orders me!"

"Wow, what a great email service! The "conversation"feature is brilliant! Nice touch on hiding quoted text by default. And I've actually benefited from the way you show ads based on my email content. As a singer I'm always looking for opportunities, and the sponsored links displayed just that during a conversation with a fellow musician. Good job Google!"

"As the owner of my own domain for years, and a user of the same email program since 1995, I was very skeptical when I was invited to use Gmail. After all, I had been in control of my own email "forever."

Nonetheless, since I've always liked the simple yet powerful implementation of your search engine, I was interested to see how you guys applied those concepts to email.

Gmail is phenomenal. It completely changes the way I work with emails. I never worry anymore about where I physically store any emails. The concept of a "Conversation,"which is a great object-oriented concept in its own right, is spot on for how email works in real life. And the use of labels instead of mailboxes makes perfect sense. Mathematically, they're essentially the same, but the implementation is cleaner, with less clutter.

Overall: A++++. An excellent implementation, and one which I'm sure your users will appreciate for decades. The use of text-only ads is helpful without being intrusive.

Oh, and the fact that Gmail is as fast as your main website makes it head and shoulders above any other web-based email system."

"This is not really a story, but just a thank you. I have used Google as my search engine for the last 4 years of high school and in the entire time, don’t think I have ever not been able to find what I was looking for. The different options in the searches that are provided prove amazingly useful. Froogle alone has been a life saver. I've saved hundreds of dollars and countless hours because of your quality service. When I heard about Gmail, I jumped at the chance to get an account. Not at all to my surprise, you have again reached the top in quality. In only my first few days of using Gmail, I have already grown to love it. You just make things sensible."

"Gmail is quite possibly the best e-mail account that I have ever had. Not only does Gmail have a GB of space, but it is pleasing to the eye and very easy to use and feel comfortable with. It only took me about 2 minutes before I felt right at home with Gmail and made it my primary e-mail account.

Wherever I go I am praising the functionality of Gmail, and I still cannot get over the ability to search through my e-mail the same way that I perform a search on Google.

Gmail is great, thanks!"
