Third Party Software Error

We've detected a conflict between Gmail and some software running on your computer.

A number of third-party firewall, pop-up blocking and ad blocking software, and browser plug-ins can interfere with your use of Gmail. We're investigating these problems, and working hard to solve them. In the meantime, you can follow the steps below to use Gmail with some third-party applications.

I have ZoneAlarm.

  1. Open ZoneAlarm, and click 'Privacy.'
  2. Click 'Site List,' and then click 'Add.'
  3. Enter 'www.gmail.com.' Click the plus sign (+) under '3rd Party Cookie Control' for 'www.gmail.com.'
  4. Set the cookie control to 'Allowed.'
  5. Click 'Privacy' again, and the click 'Site List.'
  6. Click 'Add,' and enter 'www.google.com.'
  7. Click the plus sign (+) under '3rd Party Cookie Control' for 'www.google.com.'
  8. Set the cookie control to 'Allowed.'
  9. Clear your browser's cache, and log back in to Gmail.

I have eTrust EZ Firewall.

  1. Open EZ Firewall, and click 'Privacy.
  2. Click 'Site List, and add 'gmail.com and 'google.com to your list.
  3. Disable the pop-up blocker.
  4. Click the red 'x under 'Cookie Control: 3rd Party, and select 'Allow for both sites.
  5. Clear your browser's cache, and log back in to Gmail.

I have McAfee Privacy Service or Home Security.

  1. Open McAfee Privacy Service or Home Security.
  2. Locate cookie preferences, and set 'www.google.com' and 'www.gmail.com' to 'Allowed.'
  3. Clear your browser's cache, and log back in to Gmail.

I have other Internet Security software on my computer.

We suggest adding 'gmail.google.com' as an exception to any ad blocking, script blocking, or pop-up blocking rules.

If that doesn't help, we recommend disabling the software, clearing your browser's cache, and logging in to Gmail again.
