Hit an miss | I have been buying stuff from Twin City for years. Their price is either too high or very good, depending on what you find. They usually have awesome prices on small size surplus stuff for the kids to grow into. I have rarely found them to be competitive with other stores for most common items. BUT, in their defense, they stock a pretty good variety, and sometimes they have cool stuff in their scrapyard that you will not find anywhere else. They are a classic surplus store that actually sells "surplus" stuff. Like any surplus place, you have to be a wary shopper to sort the trash from the treasure. They are at least worth a look, but don't expect high end service. Think swapmeet... |

Steer Clear! | I hadn't been to this place for over 10 years and a rude store owner helped me remember why. I found the item I needed, there was no price on it but several of the exact same things were marked $10.00 so the cashier charged me $10.00. I went back the next day for a two more, the owner figured out that I needed the items and tried to charge me twice as much. This offensive jackass treated me like a thief. When I told him about paying $10.00 the day before he told me "if you don't like it come back tomorrow". I won't be back tomorrow or any other day. This jerk would not even walk across his own store to look at the same items priced at $10.00. Everybody I talk to has a similar story, Twin city Surplus is and always has been a rip-off. I am amazed that they are still open for business. Shop around you'll find what you need somewhere else. |
