I live approximately 3.5 hours from New York City, 3.5 hours from Philadelphia, 4 hours from Buffalo and I think it's about six hours to Rochester. The largest city in our county has a population of 50000 people, if that. I live in a village of 13500 people.

I'm not very clear about the geography of the states in America excepting some most famouse city such as NY, LA:)

I know that most worthy American rather lived in suburb than the centre of city(CBD?). And it is convenient to get the work place by the private car.

You are a real local American, most of your words is US-way only, and it is easy to use. But I wonder if British-way can understand them immediately.

I understand that. Where I live, we have hills surrounding us, and the hills lead to the mountains beyond to the east of us and to the hilly but flatter regional landscape of wine country that's been woven between the dairy farmers and a few vegetable and fruit farmers...and still fewer farmers raising cattle for meat. They would not consider where I live as a suburb of anything.

My means of communication tends to be more global because I'm very conscious of the world beyond. I was raised by Old World standards and people who know me better tend to perceive me as more European than American by accident of my birth. I don't reject where I was born, but I don't see it as something that automatically makes me part of what some perceive as the melting pot mentality. On the other hand, I do admit to being a part of what I call multicultural stew--as we all are.

You know that I really doubt that if you are a novell writer. I love the words you writen, I can paste them to anywhere in my composition to cheer my teacher up.

I think that's the reasons why it is a little difficult for me to understand what's the words meaning you speak. Nearly all the words is a demonstration of the landscape and lots of adjective words, they seems wonderful, I can learn lots of word usage from you.:)

I really admire the place you described. Fresh air, hilly area, just like the paradise. Is GOD often live the places like that?

I bet that chinese GOD prefer some places with more fogs and the height places. I don't know if I should choose the typical Chinese life or the US way's life.

It seems that American teenages who are about 18 years old have to move out of the house and find the new place to live. They often be shamed if they are still stay in the house with parents.

Well, I think it is possitive way life. Abosolutely different from Chinese children. Perhaps the enviroment of the two countries has the definitely difference. Generally I don't think the common chinese children could live outside without the helps of parents. Anyway China is not a richer country as the US. All of the places with the crowd people and you will feel it is impossible to find a job for maintaining your life.

Jaye, in the USA, we are beginning to see a shift in what you're describing. While some teenagers and even people in their 20s would like to move out, they are beginning to see a crunch on their resources, which prevents them from remaining independent and often returning to their family home. The same is also true in Brazil, from what I have seen.

The cost of living, IMO, appears to be rising faster than the ability to earn--unless one has an excellent job with good pay so one has a choice about rent or mortgage payments. I remember my mom telling me that one needed 25% of their income for rent. Today, that percentage can be between 40% and 60% if one hopes to survive and, in order for that survival to happen, one needs an excellent source of income. If you're paid low wages, you may be looking at paying 40-60% if you have roommates if you're lucky. It's not a pretty picture.

I really surprised that you could understand my sux English. This issue perhaps will appeared in the IELTS, then I would be the best lucky man.

I think the most difference between China and US is the difference of the cultures and beliefs. Of course the parents all of the world love their kids best, but with different ways. Obviously Chinese parents always want to keep the kids besides themselves, hence they could keep their kids far away from the danger or suffer. It is easy to understand, isn't it?

Sometimes I really feel the American parents are too cool to their kids. They force they kids out of the house when their kids old enough, even their kids seems not independence enough to survive outside. But anyway, If they still keep their kids in the house, perhaps they will never not independance.

I don't know what way the Chinese who lived in US will choose. What do you think about it?
