reviews.cnet.com/Panasonic_TH_37PH9UK/4505-6482_7-... The Panasonic TH-PH9UK consists of three plasma monitors: the 50-inch TH-50PH9UK, the 42-inch TH-42PH9UK, and the 37-inch TH-37PH9UK. We have not reviewed these sets yet (although we intend to soon), so cannot comment directly on their performance. However, we did review all three models in 2005's Panasonic TH-PHD8UK series, the predecessors to this series, and were very impressed with their picture quality. In terms of features, every model in the Panasonic TH-PH9UK series is virtually identical, with a jack pack highlighted by a VGA-style PC input, one component video input, and an A/V input with S-Video. Because these are models are part of Panasonic's professional line, more connectivity can be added by purchasing additional connectivity cards. The downside to the professional models is that the lack extras commonly found on consumer models, such as speakers and a built-in HDTV tuner. For more information, refer to the full review of the 2005 TH-50PHD8UK. Panasonic Plasma: Best selection of Plasma Moni...

DVI vs. HDMI vs. Component Video -- Which is Be...
forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/34579/122868.html So, which is better, DVI or component? HDMI or component? The answer--unsatisfying, perhaps, but true--is that it depends. It depends upon your source and display devices, and there's no good way, in principle, to say in advance whether the digital or the analog connection will render a better picture. You may even find, say, that your DVD player looks better through its DVI or HDMI output, while your satellite or cable box looks better through its component output, on the same display. In this case, there's no real substitute for simply plugging it in and giving it a try both ways. Depends on viewing material and ambient lighting. Also these two technologies have a different look. The Sony appears brighter like most LCDs and the Panny is sort of morerealistic through the window. The Panny 42HD has a black levels changing issue BTW, fairly well known, that has a fix to it by goin into the service menu and setting the letterbox mode to on. Anyway, the LCD might be preerred in lighter environments and the plasma is preferred in the dark. The refresh rate on the Sony right now will cuase a small amount of motion artifact that a plasma wont have. The Panasonics are all spoken for from the plant by the way so if your vendor doesnt have one you will likely be qaiting for the next genration of plasmas anyway. Component Video Selector other stuff
