W124 was the internal chassis-designation for the 1986 to 1995 version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
The E stood for Einspritzung, which is German for fuel injection,
W124
The "E-Class" name first appeared with the W124, launched in 1986. Though earlier gasoline models bore the "E" designator, the entire line was officially "the E-Class" now. The 300D continued to be the high-mileage option, but V8 engines (available after 1992) brought newfound power to the line. The cars were renamed from "300E" to "E320" with the new 3.2 litre engines and naming rationalization of 1994. Mercedes also included a limited production sport version of the W124, created in close cooperation with Porsche. This was called the 500E, and set the standard for modern sports sedans.

For a complete overview of all S-Class models see Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The W126 was the Mercedes Benz S-Class produced between 1979 and 1991. The different models produced achieved combined sales of more than 800,000 units, making the W126 the most popular Mercedes-Benz S-Class to date. Available as a long- (SEL, SDL) and short wheel base (SE, SD) sedan, as well as a coupé (SEC).
380SEL denotes an S-Class car with an engine size of about 3,800ccm, with fuel injection (Einspritz) and long wheelbase (Lang).

The car comes with the owners manual and service records. It has been optimally maintained throughout its life.
A partial list of equipment includes sunroof (2 way), six CD changer, power seats with presets, air conditioning, automatic transmission, power antenna, premium sound system, first aid kit, cruise control and V-8 4.2 litre fuel injected engine. 1988 190e 2.3liter 4cly auto 4 speed trans. Low miles 141,000 GREAT ON GAS 25 MPG IN CITY AND 28 ON HIGHWAY. I have all the maintance on this car. This mercedes was very well maintained a kept. Very clean interior like "NEW". Radio does not work , back window passengers does not roll . Thats it. AC BLOWS COLD. Engine runs SOLID!!! Please serious people only. Thanks

I just paid off my first car and now i want to sell it and upgrade!!I have never had any problems with this car it has AC ,Cd player,power windows,seats and moon roof. It has 170k. If you think $4000 is to much make an offer. The only thing i can think of is that it might need new brakes But they are still working great. THis car is VERY CLEAN!!

Cons: NoneI have owned my 190E 2.6 for almost 2yrs.. this is a fantastic car.. I bought it with 119k now has 152k and is not slowing down. responsive, handles like a dream. does have some problems though.. needs a heater blower switch. Needs an ABS sensor and ocgen Sensor, I ahve replaced the alternator, battery and water pump...
I just returned from a trip to Sacremento, CA from Tacoma, WA..average speed 85mph, gas milage 27mpg over all. car is comfortable and very easy to drive..
If I buy another Mercedes I will still keep the 190E just to good to trade.
