The Hewlett Foundation works in many fields, and in education has technology as one of 5 priority areas.The Foundation has collaborated with the Mellon Foundation to develop the field of open courseware.

[too-busy and slightly confusing homepage, but LH nav listed all sections and made drilling down easy. Info on funded programmes not that easy to find - you have to dig around in reports, newsletters etc]

Carnegie Foundation for Advancement of Teaching. Funds the Knowledge Media Lab which as developed the KEEP toolkit to enable teachers to create 'representations of their knowledge, experience, ideas and reflections'.

[Homepage spoiled by dynamic nested menus, but otherwise everything clearly signposted via content sections and RH nav. KML index has a horrid dynamic menu in LH nav which just slows navigation down]
