Mislead/misleading
Lead into error,
lead in the wrong direction, to wrong conclusion, etc.,
misinform, give false or confusing information to, cause to infer what is not true, cause to have a false impression or belief (either through deliberate deception or by supllying inaccurate information),
lead into mistaken action or belief, often deliberately.
