And dedicate it to Katz [12:23] <@candy-chan> haha [12:23] <@Tama-Neko> I must find a scan that is execessively frilly [12:25] <@Tama-Neko> Should I play on idol fetish http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/223982/ or loligoth fetish http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/244428/ ? [12:25] <@candy-chan> hmm [12:26] <@candy-chan> i like the idol fetish one better [12:26] <@candy-chan> more dynamism [12:27] <@Tama-Neko> hehe [12:27] <@Tama-Neko> I think that image is far funnier Want to make idol fetish wall. Would be scenic, concert stage with lighting, etc. Vector trace 3/2/07
Title: TBD Series: Nodame Cantabile Characters: Nodame and Chiaki Style: Painted scenic (outside in a park) Techniques: Painty Colors: Greens, pastels Refs: Scan from MT (request from paintorama) Progress: In planning stages Title: Something about phones, calling, or booths (tentative) 12/12/06: A bunch of Phoenix Wright parody wallpapers, using different characters in the courtroom with Wright's "Objection!" pose. Mirror a few for DUAL SCREEN GOODNESS.
Title: 1 vs 100 (or something else about long odds)
Series: Dogs Characters: ...need to look up girl's name Style: Pop art + Grunge Techniques: Vector trace Colors: Black, red Refs: Scan from MT (saikusa) Progress: Girl trace: 100% done; Ninja trace: 0% done Priority: High Thoughts: Ninjas emerging out of left side of screen! Title: TBD
Series: Artist: Benjamin Characters: Unknown Style: Painted scenic (urban cityscape). May want to try something fun with framing. Techniques: Digital Painting Colors: Greens, blues, cool tones Refs: Scan from Minitokyo, stock photo from sxc Progress: Searching for larger stock for background. [was: Image prep 80% done. Painting 0% done. Post production 0% done.] Priority: ON HOLD Thoughts: Need more paint practice, but need a larger stock to work with. Entry last updated: 1/2/07
Title: TBD Series: Artist Chen-Shu Fen/Ping Fan Characters: Unknown Chinese dynasty-period drama Style: Painterly Techniques: Smudge painting Colors: Pastels Ref: Scan from AP, Photo from SXC PROGRESS: Background 100% done. Composition 100% done. Smudging 25% done. Thoughts: Need more paint practice. Started this half a year ago, taking it out of the wip pile to work on. Title: Through the Ages
Series: Millenium Actress Characters: Chiyoko Style: Scenic with a traditional Japanese brush-painted style. Black borders to separate each panel (so they can be used stand alone). 3 panel like traditional Japanese 3-panel woodblock prints. Chiyoko would be in front of the borders. Left panel: Shogunate times (horseback, samurai, rural) Middle panel: Early Meiji era (Victorian dress, open-air carriage, city/train) Right panel: Late Meiji era (Kimono, rickshaw, city) Techniques: Vector trace, slight texture. Refs: Screencaps from DVD PROGRESS: Left Panel: Character trace 5% done; background 0% done Middle Panel: Planning stages Right Panel: Planning stages Priority: Low Notes: Super duper wide dual or even triple widescreen monitor wallpaper for Millenium Actress based on the scene where she begins by riding a horse in heian times and ends up on a bike in the late meiji era, with all the popart background scenery in between. Perhaps each "monitor" will have her in a different era (horse, rickshaw, bike) Because someone on MT wants more dualscreen walls, and I want a new dualscreen wall for work. Title: TBD
Series: Millenium Actress Characters: Chiyoko Style: Pop art, but with some classical brushwork-on-scroll tendancies Techinques: Vector trace, texture. Use patterns for kimono, possibly as background elements as well. Refs: Personal scan of Chiyoko from an ad PROGRESS: Character trace 5% done. Background 0% done. Texturing 0% done. PRIORITY: Low Title: Lightning bugs (hotaru/firefly) - wall will be dark and only lit by Ginko's lantern and glowing mushi.
For the title, use "hotaru" 3 times like "mushi" is in the series title (made up of 3 "mushi" 虫 insect kanji) Series: Mushishi Characters: Ginko Style: Minimalistic Techniques: Vector trace Colors: Black and white with small spots of yellow glowing lights Ref: Scan from AP PRIORITY: Low Progress: In planning stages Title: The White Bamboo (from the episode about the mushi that resembles white bamboo)
Series: Mushishi Characters: N/A Style: Brush-painted (calligraphy-style) scenic bamboo forest Techniques: Vector trace (need to find ref art) Colors: greens, browns, white Refs: N/A Find some representative samples of Chinese bamboo scrolls as that is the style I would like to mimic Priority: Low Progress: In planning stages Title: "Two for the Road" is based off the name of a song by the Paul Methany band
Series: Kino no Tabi Characters: Hermes, a butterfly Style: Minimalistic, manga-styled Techniques: Vector Colors: B&W, greyscale shading (maybe some screentones for texture) Refs: Personal scan of the cover of The Beautiful World artbook PRIORITY: Low PROGRESS: In planning stages Title: TBD
Series: Gankutsuou Characters: Haydee, Count Style: All outlines Techniques: Vector trace Colors: Metallic on black Refs: Scan from MT, patterns from SXC PROGRESS: Trace in progress. Haydee 100% done; Count 1% done PRIORITY: Low Title: The "sequel" to the wallpaper "We Were Lovers" which featured the younger generation
Series: Gankutsuou Characters: Mercedes, Morcef, Count Style: Possibly Art Nouveau Techniques: Vector trace Colors: Dark Ref: Scans from MT PROGRESS: Not yet started PRIORITY: Low Useful stuff
A very detailed guide to creating isometric pixel art. I should have looked for something like this before starting the pixelart Katamari wall I did. Good reference for future pixelart projects. |
