Port Forwarding A translation of the interview from Dengeki Online with Type-Moon, where the Fate/stay night creators talk about the PS2 Fate/stay night - Realta Nua version of the game :  The world of Fate was created roughly 10 years ago - First, tell me your positions in the staff. Takeuchi Takashi: I designed the characters and drew sketches. I was also producing and selling promotions. Nasu Kinoko: I was in charge of the game's creation, and wrote the scenario. - How did you come to make the decision of creating Fate? Nasu: Fate was originally a story I wrote when I was in college. In it the gender of Saber and Shirou were opposite to now, but the essential theme had not been changed, it's the story about legendary heroes and "a boy meets a girl." Takeuchi: I created it because I just liked it, and I wanted to make something like Tsukihime, but more sophisticated. I changed the character's gender, in order to have them fit in with the gamers today. Nasu: Well, I remember one of the reason it was changed was because he made the request to let him draw a girl with armor. Finally it came true. XD - What was the theme you are trying to express? Nasu: The main theme is "conquering oneself." There are three story lines in Fate, each has a different themes. The first one is the "oneself as an ideal." The second one is "struggling with oneself as an ideal." The third one is "the friction with real and ideal." This game is describing the growth of the main character Emiya Shirou. The first storyline shows his slanted mind, the next storyline shows his resolve, and the last storyline gives another resolution for him as a human. All three storylines are essentially equal, but they have different forms. Takeuchi: Nasu's original story wasn't completed, but had its ending. I thought for almost ten years: "How did he come up with this ending?" It means a lot for me to be able to help finish this story. Nasu: Hey, you are exaggerating. XD Takeuchi: The first story is Fate itself for me. They participated as advisers in the creation of the anime - How did Fate become an anime? I heard that many fans were requesting it. Takeuchi: In the
beginning, we created Fate in our doujin group, so at first I hesitated
to move on to the commercial field. When the first Fate story was
completed, I felt: "Now could be the time for us to expand our field."
We decided at the start that we must work with responsibility and
expand our activity to another media form. I catched anime in my scope
at that time. This time, we got an offer from Geneon Entertainment,
Co., and we decided to agree to their offer after discussion with their
staffs, and I felt we will - What are your positions in creating the animation of Fate? Nasu: I joined as a superviser. The time of production coincided with the creation of Fate/hollow ataraxia," which we had to put priority on. Then, I discussed with the director and the chief scenario writer and decided to use the first storyline of Fate as the base of the anime. I suggested how to separate it into 24 episodes. I joined the meetings as a supervisor. Takeuchi: I gave advice on the designs of the characters, their clothes, weapons, and how to keep their identification to their counterparts in the original game story.
Nasu Kinoko Ayako Kawasumi's Saber has dignity in her cuteness - Did you participate in the casting of voice actors and actresses? Nasu: I participated in the casting meetings and acted selfish. XD Takeuchi had wanted to apply Kawasumi-san as Saber, and I agreed with him. - Why did you choose Ayako Kawasumi? Nasu: She has a beautiful, elegant, yet girly voice. Takeuchi: I had her voice in mind from the beginning, because I needed the dignity in Saber's voice. I heard her voice in another anime and back then I thought, "Her voice is cool, pretty with dignity." Also the sound director had suggested her, I knew he had the same images of her as I. Nasu: The reason Takeuchi picked Junichi Suwabe as Archer was terrific, he got the idea from "The Prince of Tennis." He was the candidate for another character, but the test result was so great, we decided to change immediately. - Why did Takeuchi-san needed Suwabe-san as Archer? Takeuchi: His voice is pretty awesome, we had some options but we had planned to have a young actor for Archer, and all we needed after that was joining Jouji Nakata. :D - Why did you want Nakata-san so eagerly? Takeuchi: We love him XD Nasu: He has participated in all our works from when we were just a doujin group. We met him when we were creating "Kara no Kyokai," he has a nice voice and he is a very nice guy, we fell in love from the time we first met. (laugh) Takeuchi: He read all 2 bulky volumes of "Kara no Kyokai" just for his three lines of dialogs. Nasu: It was when we were just a doujin group, we were impressed with his attitude. - Why did you pick Kana Ueda-san as Rin? Takeuchi: Her voice is too cute, but we dared to make Rin's voice cute. Nasu: We thought, "Should we look for another possibility for Rin's voice? How about making Rin act overly proud with a cute voice? However it could be risky." - What do you think about Noriko Shitaya as Sakura? Nasu: She has a pretty sweet voice like honey. I can't blame her even if she do anything bad with that voice XD - In the anime, Fuji-nee (sis Fuji) was also very impressive. Nasu: She is very powerful, she has many fans among staffs and voice actresses. Miki Itou-san is naturally like her...oh,sorry XD - What did you try express in the anime? Nasu: The main theme of the anime was the "a boy meets a girl" story, because a majority of the opinions hoped for the first storyline, and the director wanted it also. - Anime is following the story in the game. Nasu: Sure, but if they have some good gimmicks, they can add it under our agreement. However some elements like magic spells, settings of the world, were deleted since all elements in the original stories could not fit into just 24 episodes. Fate PS2 version is created for the remaining 5% in the PC version - Now I need to ask about the PS2 version. Tell me how Fate headed to PS2. Takeuchi: As I said, it part of our expansion plan. I decided to work with Kadokawa when we were going to take Fate to the console game market. - Are you satisfied with the original Fate as a PC game? Nasu: I was satisfied 100% with it... no, 95% XD - What's the remaining 5%? Nasu: Now we are making it up in the creation of the PS2 version. All we can say is we are struggling, but the work is not been finished yet. Takeuchi: Or Iâm feeling the need to add something more to Fate's 100% completed game. If we add too much, it can break the balance since Fate is well constructed, but someone said there are still some things that should be done. We are going to challenge ourselves to finish it. - Is the PS2 version that "challenge"? Takeuchi: The PC version is too long because too many things are stuffed in, and some contents had to be chopped off. Iâm happy to challenge it again. - I'm told some new contents will be added, did Type-Moon create them? Takeuchi: Sure, We created all of them. Graphics, scenario, and Nasu is supervising the recording. Nasu: Takeuchi's first half of 2006 is dedicated to this project. Takeuchi: Well, we are game creators, we need to create games. Nasu: Sure, thatâs right. - What is Takeuchi-san's position in the making of the PS2 version? Takeuchi: Almost the same with the PC version. Producing promotions and sketches. All other works are done by our staffs. - How many CGs will be included? Takeuchi: It must be many. - Do you have something to recommend to the users? Takeuchi: There are something new in "that scene" :D Nasu: Yeah, "that scene" XD - Hmm, I won't forget about it...what about the scenario? Takeuchi: No new storyline will be added. Some new CGs, voices, musics..we are doing them in our limited amount of time.
Takeuchi Takashi Nasu: I can't talk about the castings. Actually I attended the recording sessions, it was so hard XD - Why is it? Nasu: Not to break the fan's images of the characters is a difficult problem itself, and it needed too much time. Its scenario is too bulky. Takeuchi: That's no scenario, that's a telephone book. XD Nasu: I asked, "Is this the scenario?" and I was told it's only a quarter of it. After we worked for four hours, there was no progress in finishing that quarter XD Takeuchi: I should explain it in centimeters: "We finished 2 centimeters in 4 hours that day." - Will the addition of voices change the impression of game? Nasu: This game is already very long, we're afraid it will slow down the tempo. I hope game won't take over 100 hours to complete. - Really, it needs over 100 hours to complete? Takeuchi: Sure, It could be. XD But it must be enjoyable. Nasu: Sub-characters have voices also. I hope fans will enjoy it. - Did the voice actors/actresses say anything about the amount of work? Nasu: "I didn't expect it" XD I correct the phrases that were hard to act on the spot. - How long will it to finish the recordings? Nasu: We intend to finish it in 2 and a half months. - Are you going to take part in all of it? Nasu: Yap, I can't break the images that fans have of me. - Will the opening movie and music of the PC version be changed in the PS2 version? Takeuchi: We'll make new movies and musics. - It must be great, and are there any limited versions? Takeuchi: An "extra edition" for the PSP will be attached. - Will Type-Moon create it? Takeuchi: I can't say if we will, but we'll supervise it, fans will enjoy it. Nasu: We'll create what we want to play. We have been considering it for a whole year, and Kadikawa agreed to let us make it. We are considering this as the final version of Fate - Say something for new fans that have not played the PC version of Fate yet. Nasu: I hope fans of the anime will be able to enjoy the details, and they can simply enjoy the storylines that did not exist in the anime. Two years had passed but its graphics are still enjoyable. Takeuchi: I think so. I hope fans will be able to enjoy its stories, like the truth about Archer. - And what about the fans who have played the PC version? Takeuchi: New graphics, the new contents we added, basically it's a transplanted version, but it has something new. Nasu: The same scene will give new impressions. I hope fans will enjoy the highlight scenes with the addition of voices from actors/actresses. - In the end, something for the fans. Takeuchi: Please enjoy this new Fate. Nasu: I'm a gamer also. This series is set about two months after the events ocurred in the Tuatha de Danaan at the end of the original series. Mithril becomes aware of a secret organization that has technology able to counter the ECS (Electronic Cloaking System) mode. This organization, known as Amalgam, also has "Black Technology", obtained from "Whispered" like Kaname Chidori, and like the other intelligency agencies, they intend to obtain more. However, when Sousuke`s mission to protect Chidori is terminated by Mithril, all seems to be in place for Amalgam`s plans... Like many of its fans know, it is based of the FMP novel "The End of Day by Day."
Some comment about FMP:TSR (from Kurogane’s Anime Blog)

First off, some background info. As for the uninitiated, Full Metal Panic was originally a novel written by Shoji Gatoh before being adapted for anime by Gonzo in 2002. The first Full Metal Panic was done with materials from the 1st 7 volumes and was quite successful, although there was some disappointment with the ending as Chidori and Sousuke’s relationship did not develop.
Then a second series was made by Kyoto Animation (Gonzo sucks), Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, which details some of the funnier parts of the Full Metal Panic story. It’s widely regarded as one of the best comedy anime(I recommend it to everyone) in recent times with easy to understand humour, great art and good production values. But still.. it didn’t resolve the relationships of the main characters, that is.. they didn’t progress much.
And a third series was made, due to overwhelming support from fans greatly enjoying the first two series (like me :P) which was Full Metal Panic : The Second Raid by Kyoto Animation,taking materials from the eighth volume of the novels, Owaru Day by Day and some original anime additions by Gatoh-sensei himself.
Phew. On to my review. Starting off, I’ve read the original novels translated by Brandi from Boku-Tachi (she’s done a darned fine job) after finishing off FMP and FMP? Fumoffu. I had high expectations for this show after reading the novels and in a nutshell, it was both good and bad at the same time.
Changes were made to the anime, like changing the twins from guys to girls (twincest rules
yuri > yaoi :), introducing Mr. Gates (he’s memorable, definately),
and adding in extra parts like the first episode and the Nanking arc.
It was definately a good move as some of the changes resulted in more
action scenes, more comedy and of course,
HAWT YURI ACTION ...err.. more character interaction.
But adding in all those did screw up the pacing of the anime a bit and somewhat detracted from the original novel story, causing a “rushed” feel on the main points of the story when Sousuke’s assignment to guard Chidori withdrawn, leaving episode nine lacking the impact of the original novel :(. Partially one of the reasons I stopped watching.
But happily, the animators regained their footing with the next four episodes, detailing Sagara’s emotional confusion and subsequent breakdown. Honestly, I did think that the “Chidori lookalike” prostitute was stretching it too far, but the length of time shown for Sousuke culminating in his breakdown when Gauln tricked him into thinking that Chidori was dead was nicely spent. I could almost feel Sousuke’s helplessness in me too T_T.
But inevitably, proof that pacing was shot emerged at the fact that the last episode had it’s OP & ED sequences cut and stretched to 27 mins. It was still a good move of Kyoto-Ani to do that, instead of leaving us with a bad ending, totally redeeming themselves with the final parting shot of Chidori crying on Sousuke’s shoulder and their train ride back home. It also marks a major development of their relationship to date. By all means, Owaru Day by Day was essentially an important turnpoint of the series from a more relaxed to a serious tone and in the end, there is that feeling that is nicely done by Kyoto-Ani, beautifully transitioning the novel into the anime.
That aside, the extra anime-only addons was also done nicely, not surprisingly due to the fact that Gatoh-sensei actually wrote them. Episode One was a true defination of the saying, “Starting with a bang”, IMO. The subsequent introduction to Mr. Gates, the crazed but talented villain elicted a lot of laughs as undoubtably, he was one of the more original and psychotic villians in any recent anime to date. The “Ave Maria” part in episode two and his last line of ” They’re not long enough” about his sideburns was hillarious, ejecting a moment of hilarity in an otherwise, serious or brutal scenes.
The wise decision of changing the twins from their original novel versions of guys to girls added in some sex appeal to the show. The Fumoffu parts notwithstanding, the main storyline had a serious lack of girls, with only Chidori, Tessa and Melissa Mao as poster pin-ups. Introducing the “Twincest”, as popularly called, added in a lot of appeal and tapped in to the current “moé” phenomenon among otakus. I mean.. who can resist two hawt yuri twin chicks. Well, being crude aside, the twins were a real showstealer everytime they appeared from their introduction in episode two till their deaths in episode thirteen. Until now, I still can’t let the fact that they had to die go away. For the first time, I’m actually hoping for them to pull a Mwu and be miraculously revived in the next series.But… I guess that’s an impossible wish :(.
Anyways, back on track, the production values of this show is very high with everything from the art to the action sequences is finely done by the Kyoto-Ani team. Heck, even the fans lobbied for them to do this series. Imagine, Gonzo doing it….. the thought sickens me :P. Luckily, Gatoh-sensei was impressed with them too ;). I would seriously wish a series involving a certain 10 yr old teacher, a loli vampire, and a half-human, half-bird demon master swordsgirl would be redone with Kyoto-Ani at the helm ;).
Music was done very well, with the BGM’s from the previous seasons reused in their respective positions and the OP & ED both done by Mikuni Shimokawa in Full Metal Panic tradition. Minami Kaze and Mou Ichido Kimi ni Aitai are both fine songs but IMHO, her songs for Fumoffu, Sore ga,Ai Deshou Kimi ni Fuku Kaze are more better ;).
Overall,
Full Metal Panic : The Second Raid was a good series only plagued with
some pacing issues and the biggest shortcoming of only lasting one
season. I was expecting Dancing Very Merry Christmas to be animated too
(hint: a certain white-haired girl working as a “terrorist”, with a
certain teen soldier and a certain lecherous guy as her subordinates
:). Oh well, I guess I can sincerely look forward for a fourth season
and hopefully, Kyoto-Ani (assuming they will do it) can match up and
even top their effort made in FMP:TSR ;).

Hơn nữa vì quá nhiều tính năng nên có rất nhiều tính năng của Azureus mà bạn hoàn toàn chẳng bao giờ sử dụng đến cả , như chức năng trình duyệt web trong nó , mà ai cần cái đó nhỉ ? Tôi thì không bao giờ .
Utorrent: Là client tôi đang sử dụng , với giao diện bắt mắt lại cực kì nhẹ , nhẹ ở đây là cả về dung lượng của nó ( vài trăm KB ) và tài nguyên PC mà nó chiếm ( 5-11 MB ) . Hơn nữa utorrent cũng có hỗ trợ đầy đủ các tính năng của 1 client torrent và nó cũng chả có những cái features vớ vẩn dư thừa của Azures --> đây là client tôi chọn để sử dụng và có sẽ sẽ không thay đổi . Ưu tiên hàng đâu cho PC : nhẹ và tốt +_+ . So ... chưa bao giờ dám xài Azureus ( PC cùi +_+ )

Nếu vì 1 lí do nào đó , modem của bạn ko thể chịu nổi thay đổi này và gây dis liên tục thì hãy thử giảm giá trị mà bạn chỉnh trong bước này xuống . __Chú ý : Nếu sau khi lập theo các thông số đó mà bị hiện tượng time-out hay ct duyệt web chạy có vấn đề thì khởi động lại máy, nếu vẫn ko được thì giảm bớt các chỉ số xuống. Nhưng bản thân tôi thử trên máy của mình(WinXP SP2, uTorrent 1.6) thấy ko có vấn đề gì cả. Chỉ hơi chậm khi duyệt web tí chút thôi. Nếu muốn hãy giảm chỉ số Up/Down xuống(chỉ 1 chút thôi) . Cho nên cũng đửng tham lam quá mà chịu vạ .

Cách giải quyết công việc |

Do đã cài đặt DHCP Server nên chúng ta chọn: “DHCP will assign the IP settings” và nhấn Next. Tiếp tục, chọn các thông số cho phù hợp rồi nhấn Next. Cuối cùng là nhấn Finish để hoàn thành việc tạo đĩa. |

Chắc
có lẽ chúng ta khi thiết lập một hệ thống mạng đều
ngại nhất công việc cài đặt hệ điều hành cho từng
máy trong mạng. Nếu chúng ta không biết sắp xếp,
công việc cài đặt sẽ chiếm rất nhiều thời gian và
công sức, có khi hiệu quả đạt không cao. Giả sử
chúng ta phải thiết lập một hệ thống mạng gồm một
máy Server và 30 máy Client. Yêu cầu cho việc cài
đặt:
Có
hai cách để tạo đĩa Boot mạng: Một là sư dụng Norton
Ghost 2003 và hai là sử dụng tiện ích NetSetup trong bộ
đĩa cài đặt Windows NT 4.0 Server (mở đĩa Windows NT 4.0
Server vào \CLIENTS\MSCLIENT\NETSETUP chạy Setup.exe).
Trong bài này, tôi xin giới thiệu phương pháp làm dĩa
Boot mạng sử dụng phần mềm Norton Ghost 2003.
Trước
hết chúng ta phải cài đặt hệ điều hành cho Server. Ở
đây Server sẽ sử dung Windows 2000 Server. Kế tiếp
chúng ta phải nâng cấp lên Active Directory, cấu
hình DNS Server và DHCP Server để Server cấp phát IP
cho các Client. Kế đó tạo User để sử dụng cho việc
Boot mạng từ DOS và tạo thư mục để chép toàn bộ
Source cài đặt hệ điều hành (có thể sử dụng tập tin
Ghost của bất kỳ hệ điều hành). Thư mục này phải
được share để các Client khi Boot vào mạng có thể
truy cập. Cuối cùng tiến hành cài đặt Norton Ghost
2003 (lưu ý chỉ có phiên bản 2003 mới hỗ trợ việc
làm dĩa Boot mạng). Sau khi cài đặt xong, chúng ta
mở Norton Ghost 2003 lên, chọn mục Ghost Utilites,
hộp thoại Nortotn Ghost Boot Wizard xuất hiện ->
chọn tiếp “Drive Mapping Boot Disk”, rồi nhấn Next.

Tiết kiệm thời gian cài đặt chương trình
99,9% phần mềm sử dụng trên máy cá nhân tại TP được cung cấp từ các đĩa CDRom Trung Quốc và dĩ nhiên là toàn bộ các phần mềm nầy đều được người Trung Quốc cung cấp các phương tiện bẻ khóa (serial number, chương trình Crack...) kèm theo.
Do việc bảo vệ bản quyền chưa được chặt chẻ nên người sử dụng VN có khả năng tiếp cận với các phần mềm mới nhất, hay nhất trên thị trường thông qua các đĩa CD nầy. Ðây là cơ hội để chúng ta mở mang kiến thức trước khi việc bảo vệ bản quyền trở nên gắt gao.
Ðể tận dụng cơ hội nầy chúng ta phải thường xuyên bỏ thì giờ ra cài đặt chương trình, tìm Serial number, học cách chạy file bẻ khóa.v..v...thậm chí chuyện làm lại ổ đĩa vì windows trục trặc cũng là chuyện "cơm bửa". Chuyện phải cài lập đi lập lại các phần mềm thường dùng khi làm lại ổ cứng là 1 công việc tốn thì giờ và nhàm chán nhưng không làm sao khác được (dù cho là người có kinh nghiệm "đầy mình").
Ðối với những người mới "nhập môn" máy tính, nếu phát huy triệt để khả năng "tò mò" thì cũng thường hay làm hư chương trình trên đĩa cứng, trong khi vì mới học nên không "rành" cài đặt phần mềm. Thế là phải đem máy ra dịch vụ, thật nhiêạu khê và mất thì giờ.
Chúng tôi xin hiến cho các bạn 1 cách để làm lại ổ đĩa thật nhanh chóng, tiết kiệm rất nhiều thời gian và công sức nhờ vào phần mềm Ghost.
Chú ý: Trong các hướng đẫn dưới đây, phần nào các bạn biết thì tự làm, phần nào không biết thì có thể nhờ dịch vụ làm hộ. 1/ Bạn học cách sử dụng phần mềm Ghost để biết các thao tác tạo file hình ảnh cho ổ đĩa cứng và cách phục hồi ổ đĩa cứng từ file hình ảnh nầy.
2/ Bạn chia ổ cứng làm 2 partition: Partition khởi động (ổ C) dùng để cài đặt tất cả hệ điều hành và các ứng dụng cần thiết, dung lượng nên chọn sao cho sau khi cài đặt toàn bộ xong còn dư tối thiểu khoảng 100 Mb trống . Partition 2 (ổ D) dùng chứa dữ liệu do bạn tạo ra và chứa file tình ảnh của ổ C, dung lượng tương đương ổ C hay nhỏ hơn khoảng 30% (nếu bạn có 2 ổ cứng thì có thể không cần phải chia đĩa).
3/ Bạn cài đặt toàn bộ chương trình cần dùng lên ổ C, cấu hình các phần mềm thật tốt và chạy 1 thời gian để đảm bảo tính ổn định của các chương trình nầy.
4/ Dùng Ghost tạo file hình ảnh cho ổ C rồi chứa file nầy trong ổ D. Nếu có điều kiện các bạn nên nhờ dịch vụ ghi file nầy lên CDRom cho "chắc ăn" (bảo đảm không hư hỏng).
5/ Bạn tha hồ cài đặt, thay đổi, thí nghiệm phần mềm trên ổ C thoải mái. Nếu có trục trặc bạn chỉ cần dùng Ghost phục hồi lại ổ C từ file hình ảnh. Sau khi khởi động lại là ổ cứng của bạn trở về trạng thái ban đầu thật nhanh chóng, thời gia phục hồi 1 ổ đĩa 600Mb (với hệ điều hành Windows 98) khoảng 10 phút (trên máy Pentium 166) so với thời gian cài đặt ban đầu là 6 giờ.
Chú ý: Bạn có thể làm file hình ảnh chỉ 1 lần nếu bạn không thay đổi phần mềm trên máy, trong trường hợp bạn có thay đổi thì nên dùng Ghost để làm lại file hình ảnh mới. Tốt nhất là bạn nên tạo file hình ảnh ngay trước khi muốn "dọc" hay "quậy phá" rồi sau đó trả máy về tình trạng cũ.
Nếu bạn muốn phục hồi từng file riêng lẽ trong file hình ảnh, bạn hãy dùng thêm chương trình Ghost Explorer.

On the exterior, Fall of Man doesn't look all that different. Take a few steps away from your television with squinted eyes and you could mistake it for Call of Duty or Medal of Honor. But do yourself a favor, open those peepers up and step towards the screen because Resistance doesn't pay homage to World War II... it attempts something on a scale of much larger proportions.

And so begins Fall of Man's overarching storyline; a narrative that benefits from talented voice actors, multiple in-game cutscenes, and a series of old-school "freeze frame" transitions. Though there aren't too many surprises to be found across the game's 20-plus chapters, the plot still plays out well and has interesting, albeit few, main characters. It's likely that by the time you get to the end of this 12-15 hour experience, it was because you were compelled to find out what Hale and the Chimera were really all about... even if the story's ending is a little unclear and open-ended.

Further enhancing the atmosphere are the visuals themselves. Though they're certainly not the most impressive we've ever seen, they're still pretty powerful and accomplish a number of remarkable technical feats. The framerate is locked at 30 the whole way through and doesn't falter anywhere... ever. In fact, regardless of how many enemies and moving objects were on the screen at one time, there wasn't a single frame hitch the entire way through. Oh, and since we're talking about enemies and objects, there are scores of them -- Chimera, British soldiers, tanks, VTOLs, debris, tracers, explosions, and plenty of other moving and stationary are everywhere with alarming frequency. Each and every environment is noticeably different from one another as well, and while the texture work isn't overly detailed, it still looks pretty good. Of course, being that Fall of Man is a first-person shooter, it's the gameplay that matters most and thankfully, Resistance has that in spades....

Tatsuhiro Satou is a hikikomori- four years ago, he dropped out of college, and for the past year he hasn’t even talked to another person! It might seem as if there is no hope left for Satou, but one person thinks otherwise; high-school student Misaki Nakahara has selected Satou to participate in her project- an ambitious plan designed to transform Satou back into a fully functioning member of society. Is this the beginning of Satou’s salvation?
The tale of a young man who has barely left his room in four years may sound more like the subject of a primetime documentary than a comedy manga, but when it comes to NHK, Satou’s predicament is just one of the many bleak situations that surround both him and the other main characters. From a woman using drugs to keep herself on an even keel to an otaku who prefers robot maids to real women, this dysfunctional group are at the heart of NHK’s black comedy, a setting that produces just as many weak chapters as it does strong ones.
At its best, NHK is a darkly hilarious collection of sequences about everything from ero-games to lolicon, as Satou invariably digs himself deeper in his attempts to get out of his rut. As wrong as it is to laugh at some of the topics covered in the series, it is hard not to be amused by such scenes as Satou trying to collect shaming evidence of himself as a paedophile by having neighbour Yamazaki photograph him taking pictures of local schoolgirls, or Satou and Yamazaki going over the top in their attempts to create the ultimate moe heroine.
As the series progresses, however, the tone begins to change, and it is not for the better. As the humour slowly dies away, NHK passes through a more dramatic phase, but it is not one it can sustain; as all of our protagonists fall deeper into their respective situations and become more isolated and depressed, so too does the quality of the series decrease. Their problems may not be ones that could always be solved easily in real life, but nonetheless manga is meant to be a form of entertainment- and seeing the leads stuck in an endless, non-progressive rut is far from enjoyable. Admittedly, the latest few chapters do seem to indicate that an improvement (for Satou, at least) may be on the way, it is hard not to be sceptical- after all, he has relapsed many times before. And by this point, there are so many other troubled characters that a resolution for them all will be a long time in coming; not an enthusing prospect when the manga is already losing its appeal.
Visually, NHK uses a striking high contrast style with a heavy use of solid blacks; an appropriate choice given the content of the series. In case you hadn’t guessed from the above, the series is not for the faint-hearted; if suicide attempts, drug use and a naked Satou attempting ‘Hyper Self Pleasure’ sound a bit too graphic for your tastes, then this is not the series for you.
Final Thoughts
It may have started as a hilarious black comedy for those with more
mature tastes, but unfortunately NHK is unable to stay the course, and
by the latest chapters the temptation to just see all the characters
prescribe antidepressants far outweighs any enjoyment the series still
has to offer. It may have once burnt brightly, but now it is fading
fast, and only a top notch ending can now pull the series out of its
downward spiral.

The latest issue of the Japanese edition of
Newtype Magazine includes many new details on Gainax’s upcoming Rebuild
Of Evangelion movies:
- No longer constrained by technological limitation of 12 years ago,
Director Hideaki Anno is said to be happy that he can finally recreate
Eva “as he wanted it to be” in the beginning.
- Production planning on the “first part” movie is now complete and now being passed off to the drawing phase.
- Anno is now working on the script for the second movie.
- The film project will retain many members of the TV series, allowing for the full chemistry that created Eva to work again.
- The first movie will occur around the time of the events of the
episode 5-6 2 part story arch of the TV series with the climax being
Operation Yashima involving Shinji’s use of the positron sniper rifle.
Anno says that because of technical limitations it didn’t come out
entirely as he planned the first time around and he wants to do his
concept of the story right this time. Shinji Higuchi (director: Sinking
Of Japan) will collaborate on the Yashima segments.
New characters will begin to appear as of the second movie.
- Uniform designs will be the same as the “Kou Gekijouban” works. The
Nerv and Seele logos will be changed to reflect a symbolism surrounding
the garden of eden story and the tree / fruit of forbidden knowledge.
The NERV logo will be changed to show a fruit with a chunk bitten out
of it, the new SEELE logo will reflect the image of a fruit with a
serpent (Satan) coiled around it.

Takemoto Takeru, an ordinary high schooler, encounters during a bike delivery for his part time job a strange light.
When he stops and searches the surrounding, he observes in the
forest a cute girl named Hikari climbing out of a sparkling cocoon.
Takeru instantly falls for her at first sight, but suddenly a monster appears at the same spot and attacks the girl.
This describes the exciting days of the mysterious girl Hikari and
Akari, Takeru`s childhood friend Nishino Mari and his classmates, who
all come onto the scene.
Actually these are just ordinary days, but in Hikari`s point of view, they are wonderful.
