Function/functional Changes in behaviour or action without observable changes to an organism's or entity's structure; the role that something plays; that which operates as; a systematic variation of one property in relation to changes in another: “x is a function of the y of the z”; the proper activity or behaviour of an actor, structure, machine, specified role, etc., also, some purpose specified in addition to this behaviour or activity.
