Believers
Those hardy souls who seem untroubled by any paucity of credible evidence substantiating, or by any mounting evidence against their particular parochial ‘passions’ such as dowsing, ESP, prophesy, Freudian psychoanalysis, Applied Kinesiology, Homeopathy, Chiropractic, Reiki, projective ‘tests’, ’Recovered Memory’ psychotherapy, conspiracy theories, and numerous other doubtful, problematic, and specious claims and “theories”.
The reference is also applied to the religious faithful, especially the most rambunctious and unheedful of adherents, and those showing an unscientific attitude and thinking in public discussion and debate. (see: ’Creation-science’, Intelligent Design, or Intercessory Prayer, etc.)
Believers of all stripes show a propensity to rationalize.
