Interpret/interpretation The act or process of meaningfully explaining, elucidating, or clarifying an observation, outcome, event, phenomenon, etc., utilizing pre-existing schema, models, theories, or beliefs; the product of such activity; the relating of something to a larger whole to give or perceive meaning.
