Of or relating to the principles of right and wrong behaviour, especially the expression or conception, or conforming to a standard of right behaviour;

an individual’s or society’s general, customary, or standard patterns of behaviour governing interpersonal interactions with a view to ensuring the social relationships necessary for a good or satisfying life for members of society, as well as for the greater good and health of human society and the world.

 

Thus, a moral statement is one which indicates that something or some action is right or wrong, good or bad, or should or should not be done, etc.

 

Often used interchangeably with ethics.
