Norms

Normative data obtained from a comparison group of similar individuals which, to provide meaningful results, should be representative of the population to which the comparison group belongs.

 

Social norms are rules for how people should act in some group or in society, and concern any kind of behaviour conforming to widely-accepted standards within a society – what is considered normal in that society.
