Confirmation Adducing evidence in relation to a causal hypothesis which shows or tends to show the hypothesis is true or correct†.
†Disconfirmation: ...tending to show the hypothesis is false or incorrect. A piece of evidence offers a measure of disconfirmation of an hypothesis if it provides grounds which clearly diminishes the hypothesis' acceptability or the probability of the hypothesis being true.
