Creationism

Creationism

The doctrine that a divine entity or entities, or some higher power created life (and the world, etc.), often held in opposition to any form of evolution, especially Darwinian Natural Selection.

Scientific creationism is a term used, especially by proponents of biblical creationism, in which they seek to have it accepted as a scientific alternative to Evolution by Natural Selection, claiming that it should be given equal time in high school science classes. Unsurprisingly, the overwhelming scientific consensus is that so-called Creation-science is not scientific at all, and that such a deception should not be allowed to pass unchallenged.

Likewise, proponents of Intelligent Design (ID) attempt to make the case that we should teach the controversy in high school science classes, and that this involves presenting ID as a scientific alternative to Evolution by Natural Selection, while seeming to fail to recognize that what they are referring to is, scientifically, a pseudo-controversy.
