Science

An organized and systematic approach to investigating phenomena, and a body of knowledge obtained through the application of scientific methodology. Science requires its procedures and conclusions to satisfy the criterion of empirical proof.

A fundamental idea about science is that it is only false claims, not truths, which can be proven – a well-supported claim in science is one which is the survivor of multiple (competent) attempts to demonstrate that the claim is incorrect.

Science: separating the demonstrably false from the probably true.
