Doctrine
A set of rules or principles forming the basis of a central religious, political, or philosophical belief, theory, or policy;

an idea or principle or body of ideas or principles taught or advocated, especially connected with religion and asserted as true or correct.

Dogma

Religious systems of beliefs proclaimed as true by ecclesiastical authority;

belief or set or code of beliefs held to be true by a political, philosophical, or moral group

Unlike the case in scientific debate, those who promote dogmas are distinctly unwelcoming of properly-constituted challenges to their conventional wisdom.
