vagueness

Vagueness

This refers to a lack of precision in communication such that a communication is considered vague if it does not specify enough details for its intended purpose.

If one were offered cooking advice and told to bake a cake in a hot oven, but not told how hot the oven should be or what period of time the cake should remain in the oven cooking, the advice can be deemed too vague to be useful.
