About ResizR

ResizR is a nifty, free and very useful little helper. ResizR allows you to resize an image from your local computer or the web.

Why?

Often you do not need more than just resizing an image on the fly. Before ResizR you required a desktop software to do this - heavy applications which can do much more than just resizing an image. ResizR changes the game - it's much easier. Select an image - choose the width - rotate optionally.

Why is it sooooooo easy?

Instructions:

From your local computer
Click on the "Browse" Button and choose an image you like to resize. Currently only JPG can be resized. Now you can set the width in pixels by dragging the slider or entering a value into the text field below the slider. Click "ResizR" to start the resizing process.

From Web:
With ResizR it's also possible to resize any images from the web. Click the "From Web" tab and paste the URL of the image. How to find the URL of the image? In some browsers you can just right click on the image and choose "Copy image location". If you don't find the URL drop me a message. Click "ResizR" to start the resizing process.

Rotate:
To rotate the image click on "Image rotation...". Choose the 0°, 90°, 180° or 270° icon. Rotation is clockwise.

Hint:Do not increase the size of an image. You can, but the results will probably not be satisfying. If you want to see the initial width, check the text above the resized image.

Note:
Once an image has been uploaded it is available as a "From Web" image for any further actions so you don't need to upload it again!

IMPORTANT:
All uploaded images will be deleted once per day. I will neither publish nor show your images to anybody except my server, but will do some statistics about the number of resized images. If you have questions, feel free to ask: info[at]lord-lance[dot]com.

Snapshot service

Do you like the automatic website snapshot feature on this site, and want a feature like this on your own website, this is how you do it!

You will simply just have to add a normal html IMG tag, where you want to show the snapshot. The IMG tag should look like this:

if you would like to show a 800×600 image of google.com.

By adding the parameter &full after the url, instead of &w and &h, it will output the website in 1024 x »whatever height the site is«.

When a snapshot of a given url has been created, it will be stored on this server, and whenever that domain is called again (within 24 hours), a new snapshot won’t be made, but the old will be returned. When 24 hours has passed, it will automatically create a new thumbnail when someone enters your website.

Extra:

If you like the service it would be nice of you to place a link to the Webdesign Reference Book website, which the script was intentionally made for.

Note that This service wont capture flash-elements or redirected websites.

Websites are captured in 1024×768 and scaled down to any given size. If you specify a height or width higher than 1024 or 768, the IMG tag will automaticallly return the snapshot in 1024×768.
