Serious, sometimes fatal reactions can occur if Cymbalta is taken with antidepressants known as MAO inhibitors, including Marplan, Nardil and Parnate. It belongs to a class of antidepressants called selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs).
