Site-wide Features: Innovative Tools For Innovative Solutions

The internet is rapidly changing the way the world communicates. Without recent innovative breakthroughs in technology, the collaborative development process described above would not be possible.

Our development team is guided by a group of global communications experts dedicated to helping us with the crucial but mysterious process of turning the community’s needs into reality.

More and better options for real-time, person-to-person communications are already in the works. Please share your own needs and ideas with the Beta Community Discussion Group.

Visit our Online Community Director to find out more about how to put these tools to work for you.

Searching PulseWire: Open Search and "Popular Topics"

There are two ways to search for content on PulseWire.

Open Search Bar: Use the open search bar located at the top of the screen to search all programs and content for related material.

Popular Topics and Tags: Users can also quickly search PulseWire content by selecting any of the “Popular Topics” found on the left hand side of the screen, or any of the “tags” attached to a particular entry. Anywhere you see a tag, you can click on it to discover similar or related content.

Tags and Tagging

Partner with us in suggesting new categories, and help others find what you post. Tags, or keywords, appear throughout the site, acting as quick links to related content. Tags can be any word, in any language. Here are just a few examples: health, HIV/AIDS, Kenya, libres, technology…

Whenever you create content on PulseWire, you’ll be asked to mark it with at least one keyword. This helps you and others organize content by keyword.
Comments: Interactive Personal Connections

Throughout the site, you’ll also find many opportunities to leave comments on what others have posted. All PulseWire content—including journal entries, ResourceExchange requests and offers, and blueprints in SharingSolutions—have a comments feature attached.

When you’re viewing content posted to PulseWire, just look to the right to see the number of comments made already, or select “Post Comment” to submit your own note.

When you post something of your own, check in later to see if someone has left you a response!
