Abstract
Abstract of the Disclosure Pitch salve comprising Jack Pine pitch, lard and egg yolk is disclosed. This salve is useful in treating skin irritations, rashes and skin infection of both people and animals. The salve when applied externally has a soothing and healing effect.

Pitch Salve The present invention relates to a pitch sa:Lve containing ,Jack Pine re.sin, lard and egg yolk.
It is the objec-t of the present invention -to provide a medicament which can sooth and heal the skin irritation, rashes and infections.
I have found that the pitch salve of -the present invention can meet the - requirement of the object of this application.
My invention consists of a pitch salve comprising 2 heaping tablespoons of pitch, 2 level tablespoons of lard and 1 egg yolk.
The salve of the present invention is prepared by first melting the pitch and lard on the stove in a sterilized metal container, straining the melt through cheesecloth placed on the mou-th of a sterilized jar, cooling the melt in the jar to slightly warm to the touch and beat in the egg yolk with a sterilized teaspoon.
m e jar used as the container of the pitch salve is sterilized by either bolling it for 20 minutes or by washing it and placing it in an oven at 400 degrees for 1 hour. The sterilized jar is cooled before use.
It is important that the pitch used in this invention is from Jack Pine tree~.
It is also important that the melt consisting of the pine pitch and lard is cooled to a proper tempera-ture before egg yolk is added. If the temperature is too high~, the egg yolk will curdle and does not produce the desire~ prc~luct.

CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. A pitch salve for treating skin irritations, rashes and skin infections comprising: 2 heaping tablespoons of Jack Pine pitch, 2 level tablespoons of lard and 1 egg yolk formulated to be applied locally to the affected area of the skin.
2. The pitch salve of claim 1 designed for multiple applications to the affected area of the skin.
3. The pitch salve of claim 1 designed for a single application to the affected area of the skin.
