Abstract

A high frequency power supply for supplying a welding current through a choke to a welding station including an electrode element and a workpiece element, wherein the power supply includes a transformer means for creating a first current pulse in a first secondary winding and a second current pulse in a second secondary winding and means for connecting said secondary windings to pass said current pulses through said choke and across said elements. The transformer means including a first transformer with a first core and means for receiving on the first core the first secondary winding with the first core being magnetized in a first primary flux direction upon creation of the first input pulse, a second transformer with a second core and means for receiving on the second core the second secondary winding with the second core being magnetized in a second primary flux direction upon creation of the second input pulse and core reset means for magnetizing one of the cores in the flux direction opposite to the primary flux direction when said other core is magnetized in its primary direction.
