PR~FERR8D ASPECTS T0 ~H~ I~VENTSo~

The u8e of a re~ln 1~ preerred over the use of oementatlo~s material.

The ln~entlon ls preferably appllea to the llnlng of pipe8.
The slee~e can be lo~ated ~lthin the tube elther before or after the l~pregnatlon of the .tube wlth the re~in although the ormer 18 preferred.

~he sleeve may be located ~lthln the tube before or after the locatlon of the tube w~thln ~he plpe.
~he ~leeve ls preferably for~med of a vlnyl or elastlc ~ater~al.

~ he tube ls preferably of 8 length to extend bet~een ad~ace~t ~anhole cover~ asso~ated w~th the plpe. That length ~ ly be up to 100 meters or more. ~he l~ngth of the ~leeve ~hould b~ approprlate ~o the length of the tube but some additlonal len~th may be des~rable to facllltate seallng one end of the sleeve and utlll~ng t~e other end for lnflat~on pu~poses.

~n add~tion to t~e ~leeve prevlously mentloned, ~ereinaft~r ~alled ~t~e 1r~t Yleeve~ the~e may be a second ~leeve located on the outslde of the tu~e.
The ~econd sleeve may be ltself ln~epQndent o~ t~e tube but may be a coating on ~he out~lde of th~ ~ube.

The flrs~ ~lee~ mlyht ~180 be a coatlng applled to the ln~l~ of the tube but thls i8 not preferre4.

That second ~leeve and th~ flrst slseve 8~e prefe~ably locate~ ~lth respect to the t~be beforQ the lmpregnat~on wlth the resln or cementations materlal ns the flrst sleeve ~nd the second sleeve can facilltate the appllcatlon of resin o~ cemen~at~o~ materlal. ~n sh~ last reBpect, rs~n or cementatious material ~ay be l~troduced ~ one end between the f~rst ~leeve and the ~eCOnd sleeve and th~n pushed to~ards the other end by a roller or preferably t~o rollers ~hlch nlp the llnln~ material.

~t i8 to be not~d that lt ls de~lrable that the seoond sleeve ~e tran~parent or at least tran~lucent as this ~111 ~nable a sl~htlng of ths extent ~o whlch the resln or ce~entatlou~ mater~al ha~ wet the tube. ~f there 18 in~ufficisnt w8tting, ~anlpulatlon may be done to spread the r~in or cementatious ~aterial.
The ~ethod of the prese~t lnventlon may be utlllsed to repair short lengths of pipe or relatlvely long lengths of P~

Example 1 was repeated except~ng that wlt~in the tube was a fl~t slee~e and on the outs$de of the tu~e ~as a second ~31e~vQ .

In thi~ lns~ance, ~he resin ~as introduced between the flrst fileeve and the second ~lee~e anB was mo~ed along the length of the tube between the sleeves by means of nlp ro118 .

The above methods a~d product~ ha~e ~een found to produce an excellent l~nlng to an orlflc~e, ~uch a.~ a pipe, which ~111 glve many yesrs of servlce.

~n particular, the tube is ~ong and seamless havlng no ~e~n ~oln~s and ls ess~ly ~et out. Further, ~he tube has ~ome stre~ch in lt both l~nglt~1nally and clrcu~erentlally. ~he circum~er~t$~1 stretc~ ls o p~t~cula~ value ~n com~ng $nbo con~or~lty of shape.
