Abstract

An anchor for a post-tension system (30) has an anchor body (32) with an internal wedge-receiving cavity (36). The cavity (36) has a first portion (54) of constantly diminishing diameter extending inwardly from one end of the anchor body (32) and a second portion (58) extending inwardly from an opposite end. The first and second portions have a respective angle of taper with respect to the center line (45) of the cavity wherein the angle of taper of the second portion (58) is less than the angle of taper of the first portion (54). The angle of taper of the second portion (58) is less than seven degrees or a negative angle with respect to the center line. The second portion has a radiused edge (47) curving outwardly from the cavity to the opposite end of the anchor body and flushed with the second portion.
