Abstract

The invention relates to an insertion aid for inserting a cannula (8) of a catheter head into organic tissue, in particular a catheter head for administering a liquid active substance. Said insertion device comprises a guide needle (6) that is fixed to a grip section (4) for removably inserting and stabilising the cannula (8) of the catheter head during insertion into the organic tissue and a needle shield (12), consisting of at least two sections, which is secured in a pivotable manner to the grip section (4) and which encases and shields the guide needle (6), when the insertion aid (2) is separated from the catheter head.

Claims (10)

1. An insertion aid for inserting a cannula of a catheter head into organic tissue, in particular a catheter head for administering a liquid active substance, with a guide needle (6) which is fixed to a grip section (4) and is used for removable introduction and stabilizing of the cannula (8) during insertion into the organic tissue, and with a needle guard (12), comprising at least two parts, which is anchored in a pivotable manner on the grip section (4) and which encloses and shields the guide needle (6) when the insertion aid (2) is separated from the catheter head.
2. The insertion aid as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the two parts of the needle guard (12) can be locked together.
3. The insertion aid as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the two parts of the needle guard (12) are anchored in a pivotable manner on the grip section (4) via in each case at least one film hinge (14).
4. The insertion aid as claimed in one of claims 1 through 3, characterized in that the two parts of the needle guard (12) are each designed as disk-shaped shields (16, 18).

The insertion aid as claimed in at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the two parts of the needle guard (12) can be pivoted from a first position oriented substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the guide needle (6), for insertion of the guide needle (6) into the cannula (8), to a second position oriented substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the guide needle (6), and they can be locked together in this second position.
6. The insertion aid as claimed in at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the shields (16, 18) each have arc-shaped web sections (20, 22) which, when they are locked together, slide one inside the other and form a labyrinthine enclosure for the guide needle (6).
7. The insertion aid as claimed in at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a centering web (24) spaced apart from the guide needle (6) is arranged on a lower end face of the grip section (4).
8. The insertion aid as claimed in at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the grip section (4) has a cylindrical contour with grip surfaces (28) lying opposite one another on its outer circumferential surface (26).
9. The insertion aid as claimed in at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the grip section (4) and the needle guard (12) are in one piece and are made of plastic.
10. The insertion aid as claimed in at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that, when the parts of the needle guard (12) are locked together, the guide needle (6) is enclosed by these parts, without touching them.
