2.技术领域

发明内容

[0014]图1显示典型的信用卡10。卡10的大小和一般布局已经成为标准化，类似卡大量用于各种交易和其它用途。除信用卡之外，类似卡用作借记卡、ATM存取卡、礼物卡、驾照、身份证、借书证等。此类卡通常放在钱包里，在此称作“钱包卡”。
[0015]通常在卡10的12所示之处含有机器可读取的隆起文字，让信用卡可以在销售点交易中进行压印。如图2所示，现在的大部分信用卡包含携带机器可读取信息的条14，例如磁条材料，其中包含可由许多销售点终端中使用的电脑终端读取的磁性编码信息。卡背面还包含一个签名条16，通常用于容纳卡用户的手写签名。卡还可以进一步包括一维或多维条码以及智能卡接触式、非接触式或混合式卡电子信息存储器。
[0016]磁条14和隆起文字12以及签名条16标识卡上的数据区域。对于金融交易卡，此数据区域通常由力图对卡进行标准化的ISO标准控制，以使由各种机构发出的各种卡均可在销售点的标准化终端上使用。例如，卡上磁条14相对于顶边18的放置标准化，这样磁条14的宽度可以保证任何典型销售点的磁性阅读器对磁性编码信息的可读性。同样，隆起文字12的字体、大小和位置受到控制以保证卡上印刻信息的机器可读性，便于在销售点利用典型信用卡压印器进行交易。只有签名条16的位置可以更改，而不会影响卡的机器可读性。
[0017]如今，许多卡还包含标识标记，例如商标和类似物，如20所示，用于标识发卡机构。越来越来的卡还包含全息图画面22，含有发卡机构的标记。全息图画面22通常位于包含隆起文字12的数据区域部分中或附近。在图1和图2所示的卡中，放大透镜24的放置不影响磁条14和隆起文字12之间的关系。放大透镜24为矩形，并且在磁条和隆起文字之间的位置与磁条14平行安装。这个位置的大小通常足以容纳放大透镜24，因为它要求隆起文字12与磁条14相隔足够远以保证卡中的凸出部分不会以任何方式改变磁条的功能。已经发现菲涅尔型轮廓透镜特别适用于此类应用。这种透镜通过同心菲涅尔轮廓线36成形。
[0018]图3显示钱包卡400，在钱包卡的底面或反面402装有灯410。这对帮助用户在昏暗环境下查看放大的物体特别有用。可选择的是，卡400结合按照引用的专利所述的方法形成的透镜404。按惯例提供磁条406和签名条408。灯最好是发光二极管(LED)，虽然可采用任何其他合适的照明源，例如传统的白炽灯、电子荧光板或类似物。虽然显示只有一个灯410，但在需要时可安装多个灯。
[0019]灯410由设置在卡400中的一个或多个电池414供电。钱包卡可以使用传统的薄片电池或整体构成平层压板电池。超薄电池构造例如在美国专利5,888,672和6,045,942中说明。
[0020]为控制灯410的操作，一个开关，例如开关412，被安置在卡400上的方便位置。开关412最好是压力感应式开关，可以通过在拇指和食指之间捏住卡400时的手指压力激活。
[0021]图4A-4E说明制作卡400的方法。这种方法利用前后覆盖层层压的分离核心结构。第一核心构件420的厚度约为24.4mil。核心构件420的表面印有适合特定卡应用的图形。然后，将核心构件420的印制的表面与厚度约为1.6mil的覆盖层422进行层压。层压工序需要400psi左右的压力和100℃左右的温度。
[0022]参照下一个图4B，空腔424被碾磨或挖空成核心构件420以接受通常由参考数字430表示的电子元件。这些元件包括电池414、至少一个发光二极管(LED)410、开关412以及互连电路429。互连电路可以通过印刷工艺使用导电墨或通过沉积金属电路迹线在空腔424中形成。空腔424的整个底层可以金属化，然后使用传统的光刻工艺形成电路迹线。互连电路形成之后，将电池414、LED 410和开关412插入空腔的相应区域并使用传统的接合技术与互连电路进行电接合。在另一个备选方案中，在将元件插入空腔424之前可以先在适当的载体上对其进行电连接并安装为一个部件。
[0023]现在参考图4C，空腔424可以用紫外光(UV)固化树脂或类似封装化合物来填充。固化之后，对外露的化合物432进行碾磨并刮削使其与核心构件420的表面齐平。这可使用注入金刚石的飞刀来完成。

[0028]将透明塑料材料用于核心构件420和/或核心构件434可为LED 410形成准直透镜。LED通常会大角度分散光线。准直透镜可以将光线会聚在窄角度内，以便使卡400是更有效的照明源。准直透镜能以与放大透镜相同的方式形成。但是可以理解，为LED 410结合准直透镜不要求卡400中也包含放大透镜。
[0029]制作卡400的另一种方法与先前所述的方法基本相同，但是分离的核心构件使用挤压工艺制成。对第一核心构件进行挤压，在适当位置有一空腔。此核心构件按先前所述的工艺进行压印和层压。此外，按先前所述相同的方式安装和封装电子元件。对第二核心构件也进行挤压，然后层压到完成的第一核心构件。
[0030]应该认识到，在不背离本公开的精神和基本特性下，上面所述的发明可以以其它特定形式实施。因而可以理解，本发明不限于前述的说明性细节，而是由所附权利要求书来定义。

Claims (7)

1.一种制作具有灯的钱包卡的方法，包括：
形成第一核心构件；
将第一覆盖层层压到第一核心构件的第一表面；
在第一核心构件的第二表面形成一个空腔；
装配含有灯、电池及开关的电路单元；
将所述电路单元安装在所述空腔内；
用封装化合物来填充所述空腔的剩余体积；
在固化所述封装化合物后使第一核心构件的第二表面平面化；
形成第二核心构件；
将第二覆盖层层压到第二核心构件的第一表面；
将第一核心构件的第二表面固定到第二核心构件的第二表面上。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法，还包括，在将第一覆盖层层压到第一核心构件的第一表面之前，在第一核心构件的第一表面印制第一卡图形。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法，还包括，在将第二覆盖层层压到第二核心构件的第一表面之前，在第二核心构件的第一表面印制第二卡图形。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法，其特征在于，第一和第二核心构件布置在各自的板上，每个板包括多个核心构件。
