实施例1-纳米颗粒的筛选
[0019]在典型的油漆配方中以两种浓度水平:0.50%和1.00%筛选下述纳米颗粒:Al2O3、SiO2和ZnO(两种粒度)。这些纳米颜料的粒度范围为~10-120nm。表2示出了纳米颗粒筛选实验的数据。起始的油漆A是PVC为~23.0的任何常规的白色基础油漆。纳米颗粒的粘度是基于全部配方重量的百分数。
[0020]首先根据表2注意到这些观察结果,当配制成油漆A(与不具有纳米颜料的油漆A相比)时,所研究的所有不同的纳米颗粒得到着色力和反差比的增加。第二,采用各种粒度(~10-120nm)观察到改进的着色力和反差比。最后,增加纳米颗粒的粘度(0.5%,相对于1.0%)得到着色力和反差比的增加。根据这一筛选研究,以0.5%的浓度添加纳米ZnO(~60nm粒度)的油漆A得到着色力(28.75%)和反差比(0.75%)的最高增加。本领域的技术人员会意识到尽管反差比的增加小,但仅仅增加0.40%显示出遮盖力明显可视的改进。

实施例3-纳米颗粒共混的研究

[0025]下述实施例证明在建筑涂料中典型地使用的最常见的树脂体系可与本专利中所述的纳米技术一起使用。在这一研究中检验的树脂体系为两种丙烯酸树脂(一种自交联,一种非自交联)、苯乙烯-丙烯酸树脂、聚乙烯基丙烯酸(PVA)和乙酸乙烯酯乙烯(VAE)树脂。使用这些可商购的树脂,制造表1所列的数种常规的基础油漆,油漆A(23.0PVC)、油漆B(28.0PVC)、油漆C(23.0PVC)、油漆D(51.75PVC)和油漆E(27.64PVC)。在不具有和具有0.50%(基于配方的总重量)纳米ZnO(~60nm粒度)的情况下,检验所有这些油漆。表5列出了样品A-E的着色力和反差比结果。

Claims (20)

1.制备二氧化钛分散体的方法,该方法包括:
在第一分散介质内分散多种二氧化钛颗粒;
制备纳米颗粒颜料;
混合该纳米颗粒颜料与含有二氧化钛的第一分散介质;和
使纳米颗粒颜料与二氧化钛相互作用,在二氧化钛颗粒周围形成多个纳米颗粒颜料的居间分散体。
2.权利要求1的方法,其中纳米颗粒颜料包括氧化锌。
3.权利要求1的方法,其中在第一分散介质内分散二氧化钛的步骤包括使用选自铵盐疏水共聚物分散剂和高分子量嵌段共聚物中的一种分散剂。
4.具有改进的涂布性能的基底上的涂层,其包括:
基底;和
具有二氧化钛颗粒和纳米颗粒颜料颗粒的涂层;
其中纳米颗粒颜料颗粒与二氧化钛颗粒相互作用,以提供涂布层。

二氧化钛;

9.权利要求8的油漆组合物,其中漆基选自自交联的100%丙烯酸系聚合物、100%丙烯酸系聚合物及其结合。
10.权利要求8的油漆组合物,其中二氧化钛选自以商品名TionaRCS-2、Kronos 4311、Tiona 596销售的二氧化钛及其混合物。
11.权利要求8的油漆组合物,其中纳米尺寸的颜料包括氧化锌。
12.权利要求8的油漆组合物,其中纳米尺寸的颜料的浓度为每100加仑油漆组合物,约0.5-约10.0磅。
