技术领域

背景技术
在光纤通信系统中,常见的是将传输光纤线缆分为多束,可以通过对由单个线缆束传送的信号进行光学分束或者将多束线缆的单个光纤束扇形分叉(fanning out)。此外,当装配这样的系统时,已知需要提供在装置内额外的容量用于光纤的未来发展和使用。通常在这样的装置中,包含分束器和扇形分叉(fanout)的模块被用于提供在传输光纤和用户光纤之间的连接。为了减少初始装置的成本和复杂度并提供未来扩容的选择,可安装多个模块的模块安装机壳可以被用在这样的装置中。
当机壳可以接收若干模块时,初始装置可以只包括少数几个安装在机壳内的模块,或者足够当前需要的数量。这些机壳可被设计成有限地接近一个或多个侧面,或者被安装在狭促的位置。并且,一些这样的机壳可以被预配置为具有用于容纳和连接未来安装的模块的最大容量的传输线缆。由于希望在安装新模块时可接近机壳内的部件以便进行清洁,因此机壳的一些设备或特征最好能够允许操作者接近和清洁这些预连接和预安装传输线缆的连接器。

发明内容

附图1示出了通信组件10,其具有用于安装多个模块14的安装位置12。组件10包括机壳或壳体16,机壳或壳体16包括第一主侧面18、第二主侧面20和一对在第一和第二主侧面之间延伸的相对的横向侧面22。安装法兰24可以被安装在每个主侧面上大致彼此相反地延伸。第二或可选择的安装法兰26也可以被安装在其中一个主侧面上从而提供将壳体16安装到特定尺寸或形状的设备架、箱体或其他类型的装置上的选择。

参见附图2,每个模块14包括临近第二主侧面20的可释放的锁杆42。如附图10中下半部所示,锁杆42与壳体16的一部分啮合从而保持模块14在前开口28内,并且,锁杆42可以被偏转以允许模块14从壳体16撤回。每个模块14也可以包括一或多个从前表面46延伸出的线缆出口44。线缆出口44使得模块14内的通信线缆被导向到模块14的外部,如将在下面结合图10的描述。如附图2中所示,模块14的前表面46与前开口28成一定角度,其可以帮助从模块14出来的线缆向着通信装置中希望的方向。在本发明公开的范围内可以预见,前表面46可以被制成在前开口28处基本平行于横向侧面22的前边缘38。

参见附图4和5,壳体16进一步地包括和前开口28相反的后表面60,其基本封闭了壳体16的后部。可以提供穿过后表面60的开口以允许线缆和气流通过,但是期望操作者通过前开口28进入壳体16的内部30。如附图6中所示,在模块14的一端上,可以包括边缘或手指抓握部62用于帮助将模块14从壳体16中移出。手指抓握部62优选地位于模块14上与锁杆42相反处,使得操作者可以使用手指或手的相对的力量来安全地抓住模块并将其移出壳体16。

外部线缆102可以延伸至适配器88的后端90并且端接于连接器104。连接器104可以被接收在后端90中以便被光学连接到模块14连接80上。线缆102可以从壳体16的内部30延伸通过壳体16的侧面18、20或22上的开口。
参见附图11,组件10的一个模块从一个安装位置12移除,并且在该安装位置12处包括可替代的适配器保持件154。保持件154包括防护盖108,其位于适配器88的第二端92的前面。在一些装置中,在模块14被置于相关的安装位置12之前,壳体16可以被装设并且线缆102被导向和连接到适配器88的第一端90。如果线缆102被光源照明并传输光信号,防护盖108可以保护这些信号的意外曝光,这种意外曝光可能对眼睛、或其它敏感器件或者附近的通信装置造成伤害。
在附图12中,保持件154包括穿过延伸部86的开口124,通过所述开口安装适配器88。翼形螺钉56延伸通过前法兰114,并且一对壁配合法兰116从相邻的前法兰114向后延伸。可选择地,其它可释放的零件,如卡合装置、直角转弯紧固件、膨胀锁杆或者相似的零件可以替代保持件54或154上的翼形螺钉56使用。在每个法兰116的前端和前法兰114之间具有狭缝118。朝向法兰116的后端具有一对壁狭缝120。如附图10中所示,内壁110位于内部30中从第一主表面18向内偏移。壁狭缝120沿着内壁110的两侧延伸。第一主表面18的内折的前边缘112与狭缝118相配合。壳体16和保持件154之间的配合使适配器偏离内部30中的内壁110正确定位,从而使其与模块14的后表面76上的连接器80相配合。中心部件122从位于壁法兰116之间的前法兰114延伸至延伸部86,从而正确地将适配器88安装在前开口28和后部60之间的内部30中。

参见附图44,模块202包括由主体280和可移开的底板288确定的内部286,底板288被多个可移除的紧固件(例如螺钉290)保持到主体280上。一对光纤固定器292安装在内部286内临近每个线缆出口44的后面。如之前所描述的模块14,模块202优选地容纳分束器,其在一端接收单个光纤束并在另一端接收多个光纤束。模块202包括多达四个后向连接器226,并且因此可以包括多达四个分束器(附图44中未示出)。在内部286中,每个连接器226可以包括带角度的应变消除套227用来实现端接于连接器226的光纤的方向改变。
通过主体280上的开口292从内部286的外部可接近连接器226。连接器安装块296与连接器226间隔开并确保连接器226与适配器组件222的适配器232接触并配合。安装块296还包括上部线缆导向装置298,该装置用于在内部286中连接器226和出口44之间布置线缆。在内部286内还可以包括分束器装配件300,用于定位和固定模块202内的一个或多个光学分束器或其它光学部件。中心支撑杆和螺纹座302也可以被安置其中从而提供对底板288的额外的支撑。手指抓握部或把手304从前部276延伸出以提供方便的抓握,用于将模块202从机壳204移开,或者帮助操作。
参见附图45至51,模块202包括大深度部分306和浅深度部分308,大深度部分306临近前部276,并且连接器226将进入的光纤导向其中,浅深度部分308从临近连接器226处开始一直延伸到后部278。可安装在模块202上的连接器226的数量不允许侧面284朝向彼此移动,减少了内部286的宽度,不会侵占内部286内太多的线缆布线空间。部分深度部分308从后部278延伸至连接器226使得适配器可以与主体280重叠,这对于如上所述的模块14是不可能的。减少的深度确实减小了内部286的体积但是不会对内部286内的弯曲半径要求有不利影响。过渡部件310提供在部分306和308深度之间的平滑过渡。平滑过渡可以很好地减小光纤在内部286内可能遇到的尖锐角度,并且使得形成或制造主体280更容易。
在模块202中,连接器226位于主体280的顶部到底部范围内,即,在侧面284之间,并且从模块202的最靠后延伸部插入,例如,后部278。
模块202被设计成当适配器组件222被定位和连接到线缆上时能够从前部被安装在机壳204内,而不需要触及任何后部连接器。松开所述螺钉252以牵引组件通过机壳204的前部214可以提供到线缆和连接在适配器组件222后端234的通路,因此可以接近这些连接器对其进行观察或清洁。
上述具体描述、示例以及数据给出了本发明使用和制造的详细描述。由于本发明的很多实施例可以在不偏离本发明的范围和精神作出,因此本发明包涵在由附随的权利要求所限定的发明的范围内。

Claims (13)

1.一种光纤适配器模块,包括:
具有壳体部和安装部的一体的主体,壳体部和安装部形成为整体单元;
壳体部包括多个适配器,适配器与壳体部形成为整体单元;
每个适配器包括接近开口,前开口和后开口,所述前开口和后开口被设计成接收光纤连接器并与之配合,并光学连接插入到前开口和后开口内的光纤连接器;
用于每个适配器的内壳体部件和套圈对准套筒;
所述接近开口位于所述前开口和后开口之间,并且其尺寸允许所述内壳体部件和套圈对准套筒被定位在适配器内的前开口和后开口之间;
所述安装部被设计成通过机壳的前开口将所述一体的主体安装在机壳内,并且将壳体部定位在临近机壳的一侧面的位置,通过机壳上的前开口和后开口可接近适配器。
2.如权利要求1所述的光纤适配器模块,其中在每个适配器的接近开口内定位面板,所述面板保持内壳体部件和套圈对准套筒在适配器内。
3.如权利要求1所述的光纤适配器模块,其中每个适配器包括安装在前开口内的可移动闸片,其用于阻挡从后开口发射出的光线通过前开口。
4.如权利要求3所述的光纤适配器模块,其中每个可移动闸片被安装在临近一个适配器的前开口的狭缝内。
5.如权利要求4所述的光纤适配器模块,其中,通过使闸片的突出部与壳体部中临近所述狭缝的突出部开口相啮合,所述可移动闸片被保持在狭缝内。
6.如权利要求1所述的光纤适配器模块,其中所述壳体部中包括四个适配器。
7.如权利要求1所述的光纤适配器模块,其中所述安装部包括与所述壳体部反向延伸的法兰,所述法兰包括用于将适配器模块安装在机壳内的可释放紧固件。
8.权利要求7所述的光纤适配器模块,其中所述可释放紧固件是被安装部的法兰系留保持的翼形螺钉。
9.一种光纤适配器组件,包括:
一体的主体,其具有与所述主体形成为整体单元的壳体部,所述壳体部包括多个适配器,所述多个适配器与壳体部形成为整体单元;
每个适配器包括接近开口,前开口和后开口,所述前开口和后开口被设计成接收光纤连接器并与之配合,并光学连接插入到前开口和后开口内的光纤连接器;
用于每个适配器的内壳体部件和套圈对准套筒;
所述接近开口位于所述前开口和后开口之间,并且其尺寸允许所述内壳体部件和套圈对准套筒被定位在适配器内的前开口和后开口之间;
定位在每个适配器的接近开口内的面板,所述面板保持内壳体部件和套圈对准套筒在适配器内;
每个适配器包括安装在前开口内的可移动闸片,其用于阻挡从后开口发射出的光线通过前开口。
10.如权利要求9所述的光纤适配器组件,其中每个可移动闸片被安装在临近一个适配器的前开口的狭缝内。
11.如权利要求10所述的光纤适配器组件,通过使闸片的突出部与壳体部中临近所述狭缝的突出部开口相啮合,所述可移动闸片被保持在狭缝内。
12.如权利要求9所述的光纤适配器组件,其中所述壳体部中包括四个适配器。
13.一种光纤适配器组件,包括:
壳体,其限定多个适配器,适配器与壳体形成为整体单元,壳体限定顶部、底部以及在顶部和底部之间延伸的第一和第二横向侧面,壳体在其顶部具有安装滑道,用于可滑动地引导适配器组件进入一通信器件;
安装滑道包括用于保持安装紧固件的法兰,安装紧固件沿着从壳体前部到壳体后部的方向延伸,安装紧固件可绕着安装紧固件的纵向轴线相对于壳体旋转;
壳体的每个适配器包括:用于接收第一光纤连接器的前开口、用于接收适于与第一光纤连接器相匹配的第二光纤连接器的后开口、以及用于接收套圈对准套筒和内壳体半部的侧开口;以及
壳体包括面板,面板封闭至少一个适配器的侧开口以便将套圈对准套筒和内壳体半部保持在适配器内。
