Abstract

本申请是申请人于2002年8月1日提出的申请号为02816404.0的专利申请“实施物理层自动重复要求的基站”的分案申请。
技术领域
本发明是有关于无线通讯系统。更明确地,本发明是有关于一种运用一物理层(PHY)自动重复要求(ARQ)方案来对该系统实施的改进。
背景技术
提出在使用一高速下行链路分组存取(HSDPA)应用时,利用单一载波-频域均衡(SC-FDE)或正交频分多址(OFDM)方法的带宽带固定无线存取(BFWA)通讯系统。这种应用将以高速度来发射下行链路分组数据。在BFWA中,一建筑物或整群建筑物是无线式或有线式互相连接,且作为一单一用户站运作。这种系统的数据量需求极大,使单一站多重用户者需要大带宽。
目前提出的系统是运用一第2层自动重复要求(ARQ)系统。无法成功发射至用户的分组将缓冲且自第2层重发射。储存于第2层中的数据块一般较大、以高信噪比(SNR)接收发射、用一低块错误率(BLER)接收、非经常性地重发射。另外,第2层ARQ的传讯通常较为缓慢,而需要大的缓冲器及长的重发射间隔。
因此,需要具有除了第2层ARQ系统以外的变型。
发明内容
一物理层自动要求重复系统包括一发送器及一接收器。该发送器处的一物理层发送器是接收数据且将该接收到的数据格式化成具有一特殊编码/数据调制的多个分组。该物理层发送器包含n个信道,以发射所述分组及因应未接收到相对应一给定分组的一相对应认可信息而重发射分组。该发送器中的一自适应调制及编码控制器是收集重发射的统计且使用该收集到的统计来调整该特殊编码/数据调制。该接收器具有一物理层n-信道接收器,以接收所述分组。该接收器包含一n-信道混合ARQ组合器/解码器,且该ARQ组合器/解码器是用于组合分组发射、解码分组及侦测分组错误。该接收器包含一认可信息发送器,用于当一分组具有一可接受错误率时,发射对于该分组的一认可信息。该接收器包含一同序列(in-sequence)输送元件,以将可接受的分组输送至较高层。

具体实施方式
图1A与图1B是分别显示一下行链路实际ARQ10与一上行链路实际ARQ20。
下行链路实际ARQ10包括自设于网络14中的较高层发送器14a接收分组的一基站12。来自发送器14a的分组将施加至基站12中的ARQ发送器12a。ARQ发送器12a用一前向错误修正(FEC)编码数据、附加错误检查序列(ECS)、通过自适应调制及编码(AMC)控制器12c导引且使用二进制移相键控(BPSK)、正交移相键控(QPSK)、或m元正交振幅调制(亦即16-QAM或64-QAM)来调制数据。另外,对于正交频分多址(0FDMA),AMC控制器12a可改变用于运载分组数据的子信道。物理层ARQ发送器12a是通过开关、循环器(circulator)或双工器12d以及天线13,而经由空中接口14发射分组至用户单元16。倘若必要时,发送器12a亦暂时地将需要重发射的信息储存至包含于发送器12a中的一缓冲记忆体内。
用户单元16的天线15是接收分组。分组是通过开关、循环器或双工器16d而输入至物理层ARQ接收器16a中。分组将在接收器16a中FEC解码且使用ECS检查错误。接收器16a接着将控制认可信息发送器16c,以认可(ACK)接收到具有一可接受错误率的一分组、或着通过较佳地抑制一认可信息信号或发射一否定认可信息(NAK)来要求重发射。
ACK是用ACK发送器16c、经由开关16b及天线15而发送至基站12。ACK是通过空中接口14而发送至基站12的天线13。接收到的ACK是由该基站内的一认可信息接收器12b处理。ACK接收器12b是将ACK/NAK输送至自适应调制及编码(AMC)控制器12c以及发送器12a。AMC控制器12c将利用接收到的ACK的统计来分析连接至用户单元16的信道品质,且可改变后续信息发射的FEC编码及调制技术,这将于后作更详细说明。倘若用户单元16认可了接收到的分组,则在基站12处接收到该ACK时将清除暂时储存于一缓冲记忆体中的原始分组,以准备提供下一分组使用。
倘若未接收到任何ACK或接收到一NAK,则物理层发送器12a将重发射原始信息或原始信息的选择性修饰型式至用户单元16。倘若可取得,则在用户单元16处,重发射将与原始发射组合。通过使用数据备援或选择重复组合,这种技术将有助于接收一正确信息。具有一可接受错误率的分组将传送至更高层16d,以实施更进一步处理。该可接受的接收分组是以与提供至该基站内发送器12a的数据者相同的数据顺序输送至更高层16d(亦即同序列输送)。重发射的最大次数是限制于譬如介于1至8范围中的一用户定义整数值。当已尝试最大次数的重发射后,将清除该缓冲记忆体以提供下一分组使用。在该物理层处解码使用小型分组的一认可信息,将可缩短发射延迟及信息处理时间。
由于PHY ARQ是发生于该物理层处,因此一特定信道发生的重发射次数、重发射统计将可作为该信道品质的一良好度量基准。使用该重发射统计,AMC控制器12c将可改变该信道的调制及编码方案,如图2中所示。附加地,该重发射统计可组合譬如块错误率(BER)及块错误率(BLER)等其他链接品质度量基准,通过AMC控制器12c来测定该信道品质且判定是否需要变更调制及编码方案。
为了阐明SC-FDE,可测量发生于一特定信道的重发射,以产生重发射统计,步骤60。关于是否变更调制方案的一决策是利用重发射统计来实施,步骤62。倘若重发射过量,则利用通常使数据传送速率降低的一更强健编码及调制方案,步骤64。AMC控制器12c可增加扩展因数且使用更多码来传送分组数据。另一选择或附加地,该AMC控制器可由一高数据处理能力调制方案切换至一较低者,譬如由64元QAM至16元QAM或QPSK。倘若重发射率较低,则切换至一较高容量的调制方案,譬如由QPSK至16元QAM或64元QAM,步骤66。该决策较佳地是利用重发射率及譬如BER或BLER等由该接收器传递的其他链接品质度量基准两者步骤62)。该决策的限制是由系统操作者设定。
对于OFDMA,重发射的发生是用于监测每一子信道的信道品质。倘若一特定子信道的重发射率或重发射率/链接品质指示出不良品质,则可在OFDM频率集合中选择使该子信道无效步骤64,以排除在某些未来时间周期中使用这种不良品质的子信道。倘若重发射率或重发射率/链接品质指示出高品质,则可将先前已无效的一子信道加回OFDM频率集合,步骤66。
使用重发射的发生作为AMC基础,将可提供每一用户灵活匹配调制及编码方案于平均信道状况。另外,重发射率对测量错误以及来自用户单元16的报告延迟不敏感。
上行链路ARQ20本质上是相似于下行链路ARQ10且包括一用户单元26,在该用户单元中,来自较高第2层8的一较高层ARQ发送器28a的分组是传送至物理层ARQ发送器26a。信息是经由开关26d、用户天线25、及空中接口24而发射至基站天线23。AMC控制器26c可相同地通过使用一信道的重发射统计来改变调制及编码方案。
相似于图1a中接收器16a的物理层ARQ接收器22a是判定是否具有一可接受错误率而需要重发射。认可信息发送器将向用户单元26报告状态,而使发送器26a重发射、或另一选择为清除暂时储存于发送器26a处的原始信息以准备自较高第2层8接收下一信息。成功接收的分组将发送至网络24以作进一步处理。
尽管为了简化而未显示出,但该系统较佳地是用于一BFWA系统中的一HSDPA应用,然而亦可使用其他实施。该BFWA系统可使用分频双工或分时双工SC-FDE或OFDMA。在这种系统中,基站及所有用户皆位于固定位置中。该系统可包括一基站及众多用户单元。每一用户单元可服务譬如在一建筑物中或多个相邻建筑物内的多个用户。这些应用将因一用户单元站具有众多终端用户,而一般需要一大的带宽。
配置于这种系统中的一PHY ARQ是可由譬如媒体存取控制器(MAC)等较高层穿透。结果,PHY ARQ可结合譬如第2层等较高层ARQ使用。在这种情况下,该PHY ARQ将在较高层ARQ上方减少重发射。
图3是用于一PHY ARQ30的一N-信道停止及等待结构的图式。物理层ARQ发射功能38可根据其使用下行链路、上行链路、或两者的PHY ARQ而设置于基站、用户单元、或两者中。数据块34a是来自于网络。网络块是置于一队列34中,以在空中接口43的数据信道41上发射。一N-信道序列36是将块的数据依序地发送至N个发送器40-1至40-n。每一发送器40-1至40-n皆连结数据信道41中的一发射序列。每一发送器40-1至40-n皆以FEC编码且提供块数据ECS,以产生分组来AMC调制且在数据信道41中发射。该FEC编码/ECS数据是储存于发送器40-1至40-n的一缓冲器中,以用于可能的重发射。附加地,控制数据是由PHY ARQ发送器38发送出,以使在接收器46-1至46-n处的接收、解调及解码同步。
N个接收器46-1至46-n中的每一个皆是接收其相关时间槽中的分组。该接收到的分组将发送至一各别的混合ARQ解码器51-1至50-n(50)。混合ARQ解码器50将判定该接收到的分组的譬如BER或BLER等错误率。倘若该分组具有一可接受的错误率,则将释放该分组至较高阶层以作更进一步处理,且一ACK将由ACK发送器54发送出。倘若错误率是无法接受或未接受到任何分组,则将不发送出任何ACK或将发送出一NAK。具有不可接受错误率的分组将缓冲于解码器50处,而可能在后续中与一重发射的分组组合。
使用turbo码(turbo code)来组合分组的一方法如下。倘若接收到的一turbo编码分组具有一不可接受的错误率,则将重发射该分组数据以有助于编码组合。包含相同数据的分组是不相同地编码。为了解码该分组数据,将由该turbo解码器处理两分组,以复原原始数据。由于第二分组具有一不同的编码,因此其软符号(soft symbol)将映射至解码方案中的不同点。使用具有不同编码的两分组将增加编码区隔及发射区隔,以改善总BER。在另一方法中是发射相同信号。两接收到的分组是利用一最大比率的符号组合来组合。接着再解码该组合信号。
每一接收器46-1至46-n的ACK是在一快速反馈信道(FFC)45中传送。快速反馈信道45较佳地是一低等待时间信道。对于一分时双工系统,可在上游与下游发射之间的无功周期中发送ACK。FFC45较佳地是覆盖其他同频带发射的一低速度、高带宽码分多址(CDMA)信道。选择FFC CDMA码及调制,以使对其他同频带发射的干扰最小化。为了增大这种FFC45的容量,可使用多重码。
ACK接收器56是侦测ACK且指示相对应的发送器40-1至40-n是否已接收到ACK。倘若未接收到ACK,则将重发射分组。重发射的分组可通过AMC控制器12c、26c的指引而具有一不同的调制及编码方案。倘若已接收到ACK,则发送器40-1至40-n将自缓冲器中清除先前分组且接受一后续分组以实施发射。
发送器及接收器的数量N是根据譬如信道容量及ACK因应时间等各种设计考虑为基础。对于上述的较佳系统而言,较佳地是利用一2-信道结构,且具有偶数与奇数个发送器及接收器。
相较于仅使用较高层ARQ的一系统,较佳具体实施例的PHY ARQ技术是提供一7db增益的信噪比(SNR)。这是因为其操作于较单独实施较高层AQR者更高的块错误率(BLER)(5%至20%BLER)且使用更小的层1块尺寸。减低的SNR需求允许:通过运用一自适应调制及编码(AMC)技术切换至高等级调制以增大容量;通过使用较低阶RF(射频)组件及通过PHY ARQ补偿减低的实施性能以降低客户终端装置(CPE)成本;增加下行链路范围而扩大小区(cell)半径;减少基站(BS)中的下行链路功率以使小区-小区干扰最小化;以及当运用一多重载波技术时,增加功率放大器(PA)补偿值(back-off)。
Claims (2)
1.一种用户设备,包括:
较高层自动重复要求(ARQ)机制,被配置用以产生用于传输的数据;
物理层传输器,被配置用以接收来自所述较高层ARQ机制的所述用于传输的数据,其中所接收的数据是在来自所述较高层ARQ机制的数据区块中被接收,并被配置用以将所接收的数据格式化成用于传输的封包,其中所述封包的尺寸较所述据数区块为小,且每个封包具有前向错误修正(FEC)编码/数据调制,以及其中所述封包是使用正交分频多重存取(OFDMA)空气接口来传输,所述物理层传输器被配置用于在当在预定时段中尚未接收到原始或选择性地修饰的封包的认可时,用以再次传输所述原始或选择性地修饰的封包;以及其中所述较高层ARQ机制与所述物理层传输器与所述较高层ARQ机制有关而穿透地操作;
物理层接收器,被配置用以接收并解调接收到的封包以及再次传输统计;
ACK传输器,被配置用以传输在所述物理层接收器的给定封包的相应认可,其中,被配置用以接收所述给定封包的所述相应认可的机制与所述较高层ARQ机制有关而穿透地操作;以及
适应性调制及控制(AMC)单元,被配置用以使用收集的再次传输统计来调整每个封包的特殊编码/数据调制;其中如果所述收集的再次传输统计指出低次数的再次传输,则选择较高容量编码/数据调制方案作为所述特殊编码/数据调制,以及如果所述收集的再次传输统计指出高次数的再次传输,则选择较低容量编码/数据调制方案作为所述特殊编码/数据调制;以及其中选择性地使来自OFDM频率集合的分支信道无效,其中在预定时段排除不良质量分支信道的使用且将先前无效的分支信道加回所述OFDM频率集合,在所述OFDM频率集合中的再次传输率或者链接质量指出所述先前无效的分支信道的高质量。
2.根据权利要求1所述的用户设备,其中所述封包是使用具有频域等化(SC-FDE)空气接口的单一载波来传输。
