Abstract

本发明涉及一种电连接器的制造方法及其产品。该方法包括:绝缘本体成型步骤、端子模块成型步骤及插接步骤;由该方法制造的产品主要包括有绝缘本体、端子模块、金属屏蔽体及锁合装置等构件。其中绝缘本体前方设有一对对接口,后方设有一中央容室;端子模块由上端子模块及下端子模块固接而成,且上、下端子模块均以嵌固成型法制造,并在该两端子模块内部嵌固至少一排导电端子,最后将端子模块插置于绝缘本体的中央容室内。

Description

电连接器的制造方法及其产品
本发明涉及一种电连接器的制造方法及由该制造方法所制造出的电连接器。
在现有的电连接器中,如图1所示的电连接器10,导电端子12插置于绝缘本体14上的端子收容区16内。而随着传输效率的需求不断的提升,电连接器的端子更为细密,使得导电端子12的间距过小难以插入端子收容区16内,或是插接不良导致端子歪针、倾斜等情况,另外,受制造精度的限制,无法依照传统的制造方式一次组装多根端子,因而,如何改善上述制造上的瓶颈问题,以提高制造品质增加市场的竞争力,确实为当前刻不容缓的问题。
本发明的目的在于提供一种高精密度及高端子数的电连接器的制造方法。
本发明的另一目的在于提供由所述制造方法所制造的电连接器。
本发明的目的是这样实现的,其制造方法主要包括如下步骤:绝缘本体成型步骤,其中该绝缘本体前方设有一对接口以与对接连接器相对接,而在绝缘本体的后方设有一中央容室;端子模块成型步骤,其借嵌固成型法制造,且在其内部收容有至少一排导电端子,而每一导电端子上均设有一接触部及一焊接部,其中,接触部与对接连接器的端子相接合,而焊接部则以超声波焊接法与电路板相固接;及插接步骤,其将端子模块插置在绝缘本体的中央容室内。
依照上述制造方法所制成的电连接器主要包括有绝缘本体,端子模块、金属屏蔽体及锁合装置等构件,其中在绝缘本体的前方设有一对接口,并在其后方设有一中央容室,以分别用来与对接连接器相对接及使端子模块容置其中,另外端子模块包括有连接成一体的上端子模块及下端子模块,其中每一端子模块上均至少包括有一板体及至少一排成型于该板体上的导电端子,且每一导电端子均包括有接触部、固定部及焊接部。
与现有的技术相比较,本发明的优点如下:
1.利用本发明可以获得高精密度及高端子数的电连接器。
2.利用一端子模块可将导电端子轻易地插置于电连接器的绝缘本体内,进而提高了生产效率并增进了其制造品质。
下面结合附图及实施例对本发明作进一步的说明。
图1为现有电连接器的立体分解图。
图2为依据本发明的制造方法所制造的电连接器立体图。
图3为图2所示电连接器的立体分解图。
图4为依据本发明而制造的电连接器绝缘本体的后视图。
图5为依据本发明而制造的电连接器导电端子模块的立体分解图。
图6为依据本发明而制造的电连接器导电端子的第二实施例立体图。
图7为图2所示的电连接器沿A-A线的剖视图。
图8-16为本发明的制造流程示意图。
参照图2、图3所示,依据本发明而制造的电连接器20主要包括有金属屏蔽体22、锁合装置23、绝缘本体24、固接有若干个导电端子27的端子模块26及用于定位导电端子27焊接部56的定位座25。结合参照图4,绝缘本体24包括有主体构件28及由主体构件28向外凸伸的对接端30,且在该对接端30上设有对接口33,以与对接连接器(未图示)相配合,并从主体构件28后端向后延伸设有两固接壁39以作为定位座25固接的依据,并在该两固接壁39之间设有中央容室38以用来容置端子模块26,另外,在主体构件28两侧端部附近各设有一通孔41以用来确保锁合装置23稳固固接金属屏蔽体22。
中央容室38包括有上表面32,下表面34、内表面35、两相对侧表面36及设在内表面35上的横向凹槽42,其中该横向凹槽42用以收容端子模块26的横向凸部82(如图7所示),而在侧表面36每一表面上各设有两槽道37以用于收容端子模块26的两侧凸缘80(如图5所示),并在上表面32及下表面34上各设有数个接合孔44以用来与端子模块26外表面上所形成的凸部66(如图5所示)相固持。
绝缘本体28在其对接口33内进一步设有两排端子插槽40,且这些端子插槽40贯穿中央容室38的内表面35,用以收容导电端子27的前端接触部52(如图5所示)。另外,在该绝缘本体28上部45及下部(未图示)上对应设有数个凸肋46以与金属屏蔽体22上的卡槽48相扣合。
参照图5,端子模块26包括上端子模块26a及下端子模块26b,每个端子模块均包括一板体50及水平布置的导电端子27,其中导电端子27嵌固于板体50内,上、下两端子模块26a、26b除了各自的焊接部56弯折的位置及其方向不同外其构造基本上相同(参照图7)。而每个板体50在其第一结合面88靠近两侧端部上各设有两对结合机构86,并在该两结合机构86之间设有两对焊接组件84,该焊接组件84可促进超声波焊接效果。另外,在板体50与第一结合面88相对的另一表面90的两侧缘上各形成有一侧凸缘80,并在板体50第一结合面88的前端缘上设有前端凸缘68,且板体50的表面90上设有两凸部66。而每对接合机构86包括有方形导柱62及圆形收容孔64,其中这两对导柱62和收容孔64的位置呈相反排列,每对焊接组件84包括有一个狭长的延伸槽60及置于其中的卡合片58,它们也如结合机构86上的导柱62及收容孔64一样呈相反设置。
导电端子27包括有固接部54、从固接部54延伸出的接触部52及由固定部54向后延伸并向下弯折的焊接部56。由于端子模块26a、26b上导电端子27的焊接部56交替弯折在两个不同的位置,且这两个不同的位置在上端子模块26a及下端子模块26b上也是各不相同的,因而当上端子模块26a与下端子模块26b借各自的结合面88固接而成端子模块26时,将会形成四排端子焊接部56。
参照图6所示,其为导电端子的另一实施例27’,包括有前端接触部52、焊接部56及固定部54’,且在固定部54’上冲压成型有成对干涉部55,进而增加其与板体50间的固持力量。
参照图8-16,在该电连接器制造流程中主要包括有如下步骤:
(A)裁切料带70,其中在该料带设有特定数量的导电端子27(如图8所示)。
(B)通过嵌固制程以使导电端子27上的固定部54的一部分嵌入板体50中(如图9所示)。
(C)切断料带70上的多余料件72以形成端子模块26’(如图10所示)。
(D)将端子模块26’上焊接部56弯折成前、后两排布置进而构成上端子模块26a(如图11所示)。
(E)将另一端子模块26’的焊接部56弯折成另外前、后两排布置进而构成下端子模座26b(如图12所示)。
(F)通过结合机构86将上端子模块26a及下端子模块26b结合为一体(如图13所示)。
(G)借超声波焊接将上端子模块26a及下端子模块26b焊接在一起(如图14所示)。
(H)在绝缘本体24上设有中央容室38,以使端子模块26插入其中(如图15所示)。
(I)再进一步组装金属屏蔽体22、锁合装置23及定位座25于绝缘本体24上(如图16所示)。
其中,在固接上端子模块26a及下端子模块26b为一体的步骤(F)中,设置在上述两端子模块上的接合机构86对应扣接。上端子模块26a上的导柱62则分别被导入下端子模块26b的收容孔64内,而上端子模块26a的延伸槽60及卡合片58分别与下端子模块26b的卡合片58与延伸槽60相固接,且两凸缘68重叠在一起而形成凸伸件82(如图7所示)。
而在借超声波焊接进而将上端子模块26a及下端子模块26b熔接成一体的步骤(G)中,卡合片58首先借超声波融化而后再与延伸槽60相接合直至形成固体。这样便形成一个具有两排导电端子27的端子模块26。
在步骤(H)中,当端子模块26置入中央容室38时,凸缘80被导引滑入中央容室38的槽道37内,而凸伸件82与内表面35的凹槽42相接配合,端子模块26的凸肋66则卡接在相应的接合孔44(如图7所示),上述的凸缘80及槽道37即为本实施例中用以将端子模块26导入绝缘本体24的导引装置,而凸肋66及接合孔44则为本实施例中用以将端子模块26与绝缘本体24相接且可防止松脱的止动装置。
在步骤(I)中,金属壳体22罩盖在对接端30上,金属壳体22的卡槽48与绝缘本体24的凸肋46相卡接,而锁合装置23除可相互锁扣外并可进一步将金属壳体22与绝缘本体24扣接为一体。定位件25除用于使导电端子27的焊接部56呈排排列外,同时可使导电端子27的焊接部56在插接到印刷电路板的过程中更加顺畅(图未示)。这样即完成包括一端子模块26的电连接器制造程序。

Claims (11)

1.一种电连接器的制造方法,其特征在于该方法包括下列步骤:
绝缘本体成型步骤,其中该绝缘本体前方设有一与对接连接器相对接的对接口,并在绝缘本体的后方设有一中央容室;
端子模块成型步骤,包含上端子模块及下端子模块以嵌固成型及连接上端子模块及下端子模块的成型步骤,且在上端子模块及下端子模块内部各嵌固至少一排导电端子,而每一导电端子上均设有一接触部及焊接部;
插接步骤,将前述端子模块插置在绝缘本体的中央容室内。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器的制造方法,其特征在于上、下端子模块成型步骤又包括:
截切料带,其中该料带上包含有特定数量的导电端子与其相连接;
嵌固成型加工制程,其将导电端子固定部的部份嵌固在板体中;及切除料带上的多余料件。
3.如权利要求2所述的电连接器的制造方法,其特征在于上端子模块及下端子模块是以超声波焊接法焊接成一端子模块整体。
4.如权利要求1所述的电连接器的制造方法,其特征在于在插接步骤中包含一利用导引装置而将端子模块导入绝缘本体中央容室内的程序。
5.一种电连接器,包括有绝缘本体及端子模块,其特征在于:在绝缘本体前方设有一对接口并在其后方设有一中央容室;而端子模块则容置于绝缘本体的中央容室内,且其包括连接成一体的上端子模块及下端子模块,其中每一端子模块均至少包括有一板体及至少一排成型在板体上的导电端子其上至少收容一排导电端子,各导电端子均设有接触部、焊接部及固定部。
6.如权利要求5所述的电连接器,其特征在于:上端子模块及下端子模块所设的板体相同,且该两板体各包括有一可相互连接的接合机构,且在其表面上设置有一可促进超声波焊接效果的焊接组件。
7.如权利要求6所述的电连接器,其特征在于:该焊接组件包括两对延伸槽及卡合片,当上端子模块及下端子模块接合时,上端子模块的延伸槽及卡合片分别与相对应的下端子模块的卡合片及延伸槽相固接。
8.如权利要求7所述的电连接器,其特征在于:端子模块包括一可收容在中央容室内表面上所设的凹槽内的凸伸件。
9.如权利要求8所述的电连接器,其特征在于:在端子模块至少一外表面及绝缘本体的中央容室内与之相对应的表面上设有将端子模块卡接在绝缘本体内的止动装置。
10.如权利要求9所述的电连接器,其特征在于:在端子模块至少一外表面及中央容室上与之相对的表面之间设有将端子模块导入绝缘本体内的导引装置。
11.如权利要求10所述的电连接器,其特征在于:端子模块上的导电端子接触部及焊接部分别朝远离板体方向向外延伸。
