本发明的系统可对嵌入代码10的编码信息进行扫描，并可以将这些代码装载到入口服务器200，以便立刻或延时处理或以备参考。系统可以允许打印物的广告者通过跟踪模块220跟踪他们的实施效果并收集有关进行扫描的人的人口统计信息。跟踪模块220在图1中示为入口服务器200的一部分，不过它可以在系统的100、180、400、300、200或600部件的任一部件中。跟踪模块220还可以跟踪源于特定出版物、出版物类型或提供者600的电子商务事务的事务值，并根据事务计算费用比例。例如，在一种实施方式中，扫描器100包括能跟踪广告被扫描的时间的时钟。在扫描器100是GPS的实施方式中，也可以跟踪出现扫描的地理位置。系统也根据用户个人简要信息所允许的程度并达到这一程度来打算发送生物测定信息。所有跟踪信息的组合包括广告读取-扫描内容信息，该信息可以根据用户个人简要信息所允许的程度并达到这一程度被发送到入口服务器200或发送到提供者600。
本发明的接收机180通过线路或通过无线技术如红外线、基于光的传输、射频或卫星与扫描器100和入口服务器200通信。接收机180可以合并到或者就是计算机、蜂窝式电话、寻呼机、遥控器、个人数字助理和简单的缓冲器，或者可以使用直接的链路。接收机180也可以合并到现有设备，例如电视、机顶盒、Web TV设备、VCR、数字通用盘(“DVD”)播放器、仪表、用户住宅设备(“CPE”)300或任何其他的电子设备。接收机180可以但未必对链路和用户输入信息的传输进行收集、分类和排序。接收机180使这些传输排队等候或立刻对它们进行处理。接收机180也可以包括至少一个“甜点数据块”和接收的时间信息以及包括与特定接收机或提供者相关的其他信息。
在一种实施方式中，接收机180将原始受扫代码10直接转发到入口服务器200或经入口服务器200转发到其他地方如提供者600。在另一种实施方式中，接收机180收集、存储、处理受扫代码信息连同“甜点数据块”和其他状态相关信息如时间、温度和位置，并将它们转发到网络。
接收机180可以是多功能的并可以包括多种输入如射频和红外线。接收机180也可以合并X-10、无线、有线和电源线连网，以链接到多个单元，或为便于大量安装，链接到至少一个转发器。接收机180也可以将无线、有线或电源线链路合并到至少一个本地计算机或CPE 300中。
在图2和4所示的实施方式中，CPE 300可以起到排队处理器或预处理器作用。用户也可以利用CPE 300输入信息，包括用户个人简要信息。在另一种实施方式中，受扫代码10可以由CPE 300根据用户优先权来处理。举例来说，当代码10被接收时，CPE 300可以自动地和顺序地对代码10进行处理，或排队存储代码10以便在用户方便时进行处理。“甜点数据块”可以存储在CPE 300、扫描器100和接收机180中的一个或多个中。CPE 300接收来自扫描器100的含有链路信息的受扫代码10，并将代码10发送到入口服务器200。入口服务器200解析链路信息，并建立从网络中的某个位置(如特定网页地址、因特网站点或提供者600位置)到接收机180的通路。该位置沿该通路将诸如多媒体信息序列500的信息发送到接收机180以便显示和重放。
本发明的系统打算至少一个入口服务器200。入口服务器200可以是单个地点或多个地点。入口服务器200经网络与扫描器100和接收机180通信，并对来自打印媒体50的代码10、代码类型和信息进行中心管理、分配和控制。入口服务器200可以接收链路信息和用户输入信息，选择与链路信息和用户输入信息相应的多媒体信息序列500，并经网络将该多媒体信息序列500发送到接收机180。
该系统的一个优点是，当利用入口服务器200中的含有“甜点数据块”的链路信息数据库时，要链接到特定的位置需要被扫描的信息量最小。入口服务器200处理代码10，它可能含有嵌入式信息和参考信息(如提供者600、广告者和信息提供者所提供的数据库信息)的级别。受扫代码10中所含的信息可以与用户输入信息、“甜点数据块”、状态相关信息、广告读取-扫描内容信息和将入口服务器200链接到网络中的至少一个位置的其他发送信息中的至少之一相结合，并完成诸如对信息的请求的事务或电子商务事务。
在一种实施方式中，入口服务器200可以接收和处理来自用户的请求，该用户通过诸如键盘、电话、话音启动的系统或调制解调器的通信设备来向入口服务器200提供原始代码10。在该实施方式中，用户无需使用扫描器100就能启动多媒体信息的交互式通信。在又一种实施方式中，扫描器100可以经电话拨号系统访问入口服务器。例如，在扫描之后，用户可以使用电话进行扫描器100到网络的通信。一旦数据被传送，用户就可以利用话音菜单系统控制其余事务如单声音多媒体信息的接收或进行事务处理。在另一种实施方式中，入口服务器200具有单个公共的链路数据库，供打印和电子事务处理。链路的数据库可以被系统的用户如广告者、打印媒体业主和信息提供者600所访问。
入口服务器200中的跟踪模块220可以跟踪与用户相应的链路信息，如通用资源定位、因特网地址信息、商标信息、出处、公司名称、产品名称、业务名称、好处偿还信息、提供者规定的信息、用户个人简要信息、用户感兴趣的信息、服务器命令信息和用户住宅设备优先权信息。
跟踪模块220也可以经入口服务器200跟踪与网络中发出的各广告和各事务有关的费用。费用可以基于例如所选择的多媒体信息序列、入口服务器所接收到的与特定信息提供者相应的链路信息的个数和频率或者事务值(如果所选择的多媒体信息序列产生事务的话)。跟踪模块220可以跟踪与源于扫描的至少一个电子商务事务有关的费用。
入口服务器200中的提供者管理模块230和统计模块240根据用户个人简要信息保持从提供者600产生的广告信息和事务(它们的产生与扫描无关)。因此，本发明使广告者可根据用户个人简要信息或入口服务器配置向入口服务器200的用户广播。提供者管理模块230可以向提供者反馈关于提供者的打印媒体50的效率，并允许灵活、实时地收听消息。
入口服务器200中的非有向图(indigraphics)模块(未示出)执行用户个人简要信息管理功能，如根据用户个人简要信息和感兴趣的信息来标记和发布与拍卖有关的信息。
入口服务器200中的经费管理模块(未示出)管理和简化系统的用户之间的资金事务。经费管理模块处理来自入口服务器200中的其他模块(如跟踪模块220)的信息。经费管理模块最好采用电子经费传送如电子现金的形式，以根据从跟踪模块220接收到的信息来接受和分配经费。
例如，根据本发明，人们可以扫描本地经销商刊登在报纸上的普通的黑白汽车广告，它用代码10来增强。此后不久，人们就体验到与个人的Web TV或计算机上的汽车广告有关的特征完整的多媒体表示。跟踪模块220根据销售额的比例计算出厂商、经销商和汽车买主应分摊的费用。经费管理模块可以接受人们的电子现金，并且可以将电子现金分配给事务中所涉及的各方或者将诸如借方和贷方的信息存储到帐户数据库中。
在本发明的另一例子中，人们可以到食品杂货商店，从条目上扫描下UPC代码10，然后到小亭中通道的尽头借助或不借助打印机检查营养信息或配方。或者，人们可以将UPC信息带回家并将其装载到其接收机180或CPE中，从而得到关于产品、优待券或其他好处偿还信息。该商店可以随意地提供到网络的链路，这样用户就可以经因特网连接将这些信息从商店装载到其家用计算机中。
在本发明的另一例子中，可利用扫描器100将填充的动物(stuffedanimals)链接到网络中的某一位置。根据这一例子，扫描器100可以是基于近程的设备如智能按钮(象Java环(Java rings)中的那些按钮)，或者几乎任何其他种类的含有安全卡和接入装置的设备。
在另一例子中，人们可以扫描其台面上的5个年度的计算机监视器，并立刻发送到提供本地监视器业务中心列表或关于监视器的技术信息(如图表、说明书或保证书)的网页。该事务也可以使人们收到折扣出价、抵价购物出价或收回和保险信息。本发明使得厂商可以在超出厂商与用户相互制约的惯例时段的延长期内保持与用户的联系。这种联系使得厂商可以收集到按惯例达不到的产品使用信息。厂商也可以采取激励计划促使人们扫描其产品。
本发明允许信息提供者600可电子接收代码10以嵌入到广告中。它也允许广告发布者如报纸和杂志公司打印他们自己的广告代码并与入口服务器200共享这一信息。本发明打算在含有关于发布和产品的身份的信息的广告中使用增强型代码。系统使得发布者即使不提供任何产品也可以分享事务的全盘好处。系统还使单纯的市场商人和目录提供者可通过计及指向入口操作的电子商务贮备或指向厂商/批发商的电子商务贮备的代码10中的信息利用简化的基础结构进行操作。
版权所有的资料的再印也可以是入口服务器200提供给作者的业务。作者可以将代码10嵌入到他们的书籍或文章中。扫描该代码10的用户可以以适当的费用拷贝整篇文章或者相关的文章或书籍或信息。本发明为作者提供了一种便宜方法，用于收取一般很小的费用。版权业务入口服务器可以通过现有的电子商务业务或别的入口服务器将每个下载页几分甚至零点几分划入作者的帐户。与适中或昂贵定价的项目(如CD和时事通讯)的访问和下载有关的费用可以以类似的方式进行处理。
本发明还打算建立医疗试验设备以便与系统一同操作。能跟踪与人们当时所有的医疗条件有关的医疗信息的身体监视器可以定期地或当参数这样指示或令人满意时通报这一信息。本发明的系统具有能在入口服务器200中将有线和无线原始数据与用户输入、状态信息和“甜点数据块”信息相结合的特点。入口服务器200指引和引导基于用户个人简要信息的信息。这些基本信息可以是在将基本信息附加到身体监视器所收集的信息的设备中受扫或嵌入的代码。入口服务器200中的链路可以动态地被移动，而新型的身体监视器的嵌入式代码或新的一组参数可以从网络中的某个位置被下载。
本发明还可以打算利用系统从家庭项目中收集警报和仪表信息。该系统包括能接收射频或红外信号的中心接收机。原始数据流、指针信息和状态信息可以从家庭项目发送到接收机。接收机将信息传送到入口服务器。入口服务器可以将该信息与“甜点数据块”结合，并利用指针信息安全地将它发送到厂商的网站。
本发明的系统具有多种操作方式，包括收集和存储，收集和执行，以及收集和处理然后执行。用户根据用户个人简要信息来确定方式。设置在接收机中的扫描器的用户接口和设置在CPE 300或入口服务器200中的软件也可以与用户个人简要信息结合来确定方式。
现有遥控装置如电视遥控器可以被改进以扫描代码10和将它发送到接收机180如机顶盒。在一种实施方式中，代码10可以在能被接收机180脱出的特定序列的标准代码之后被扫描和嵌入。例如，在收集和存储方式中，在遥控器上按下预定序列的按钮就可以启动远端扫描方式。一旦启动，遥控器就可用来收集和存储来自例如杂志广告的代码10。然后，用户可以遥控机顶盒并且压下单键或键序列以发送代码信息。

经网络与用户设备和与接收机通信的入口服务器，该入口服务器可以接收链路信息和用户输入信息，选择与链路信息和用户输入信息相应的多媒体信息序列，并经网络将多媒体信息序列发送到接收机。

经网络将链路信息和用户输入信息发送到入口服务器；
在入口服务器处，接收链路信息和用户输入信息；
选择与链路信息和用户输入信息相应的多媒体信息序列；
经网络将多媒体信息序列发送到接收机；
在接收机处，接收和存储多媒体信息序列；和
通过接收机播放多媒体信息序列。
104.权利要求103的方法，其中，根据经由用户接口的用户请求，将链路信息和用户输入信息发送到入口服务器。
