Abstract

Description

用于移动显示系统的背光系统结构
本发明涉及一种移动显示系统。
移动装置,如移动和手持式个人电脑,便携式TV和其它的移动因特网设备,已被广泛地使用于我们的日常生活中。由于它们的大小和可移动性,这些装置对经常旅行或随时随地都需要,例如,从因特网或在存储数据库中获取信息的人来说是特别方便的。在可提供AC电源时,移动装置常常与桌面上或别处的配接站结合以连接或配接的方式使用。该配接站提供网络连接和与外围设备,如打印机的连接。因为它们能以配接方式或移动(或非配接)方式使用的灵活性,因而在该移动装置被配接和由市电电源供电时,就要求高亮度(与静止监视器相似的亮度),和当它们以移动方式工作时就要求电池寿命的最佳化。
笔记本PC的传统解决办法是,例如,使用可调光的电源。在这种情形,背光的功率是根据笔记本PC所附带的充电器的条件来调节的。当笔记本电脑被用于移动方式时,电池寿命的最佳化可通过减少背光功率来实现。这因此导致亮度减小到60-80烛光/m2。如果将笔记本电脑插入壁上的AC电源插座,则该背光的最大功率就可通过相对于电池工作方式时的最大值增加内部灯的电流或电流的负载周期来增大。但是,即使增加电流也只能获得80-100烛光/m2的亮度,当与电源供电的平面板监视器的亮度相比这也是小得多的,该平面板监视器具有的发光强度为250多烛光/m2
这样,今天大多数移动电子产品都不能实现高亮度,除非重量和厚度两者都作牺牲。
因而,本发明的目的在于提供一移动装置,它保持小的重量,厚度和长电池寿命的移动特性,同时当可提供市电电源时,还能提供桌面产品的功能,例如高亮度。
这目的是借助按照本发明的移动显示系统来实现的,如独立权利要求1所说明的那样。
按照本发明,提供有一基站,该基站包括第二背光电路,当可提供外电源时,最好是AC电源时,第二背光电路即可与这样的电源连接。现在,当移动单元被附着于该基站时,就能启动该第二背光电路中的装置,并使该移动单元的背光强度增加。
还有一些有利的实施例被说明在从属权利要求2-6中。
按照本发明的第一实施例,该移动显示系统包括一移动单元,该移动单元又包含第一背光电路用来给显示器提供光。该第一背光电路包括多个光源和用来给预选出的一个光源供电的第一电源。该基站包括第二背光电路,该第二背光电路包括至少一个另外的电源。
该第二背光电路被安排来给不是由所述的第一背光电路中的第一电源供电的该第一背光电路的那些光源供电。
这样,该移动单元中的第一电源可以是小型的,并具有低功耗以便于延长电池寿命。当单独使用移动单元时,背光强度相当低。但是,当希望背光强度增大时,就将该移动单元连接在该基站上,并将后者连接到一外部电源上。因此,该移动单元内的所有光源都能被启动,因而获得高的背光亮度。
在该移动单元内提供的光源总数例如是4个,其中的一个就是由该第一背光电路内的第一电源供电的。其它3个光源就由该第二背光电路内的另外的电源供电。
在第二实施例中,该第二背光电路本身,于是基站,包括一个或多个光源。该第二背光电路还包括至少一个另外的电源用来给所述的另外的光源供电。当将该移动单元附着于基站时,该基站和该移动单元就被安排,以便把来自该一个或多个另外的光源的光耦合进该移动单元。
在这第二实施例中,在进一步减轻重量的移动单元内基本上只需要一单个的光源。当将该移动单元附着到该基站时,该背光强度可通过该基站内的另外的光源来增大,其光可通过适当的结构被耦合进该移动单元中。
最好是,这种结构包括选择的一些由可耦合光的材料制作的该基站和移动单元的表面。

优选实施例详述
图1图示出一按照本发明的一个实施例的移动显示系统10的基本配置。显示系统10包括一电池供电的移动单元12和一市电电源供电的基站16,该基站包括一电线17用来插入AC电源插座和其它的外部电源。移动单元12具有四个边28a,28b,28c和28d,而且还包括一平面板显示器14。移动单元12可以是一独立的移动装置,例如,移动PC,或者是用于移动装置的平面板监视器,例如LCD显示器。基站16被构造成具有一表面15,一倾斜表面18和两个导轨19a和19b。导轨19a和19b分别具有彼此面对的内表面29a和29b。移动单元12可沿倾斜表面18和导轨19a和19b与基站16相连到达表面15。
图2A图示出按照本发明第一实施例的移动显示系统20。显示系统20具有与图1所示系统相同的基本配置,而且包括一移动单元22和一基站26。如图2A所示,移动单元22还包括电连接器32a,32b,和32c。基站26也包括电连接器34a,34b,和34c及一检测机构,例如,开关36。

在基站26内的背光电路41b中,多个背光电源48a,48b和48d被靠近表面15安置(示于图2A中)以便经过连接器34a,34b和34c分别与移动单元22上的连接器32a,32b和32c电连接。
一旦移动单元22以配接方式附着在基站26上,则连接器32a和32b就分别与连接器34a和34b接触和连接。在这种方式时开关36被合上,给基站26发信号以便给它的内部电源48a,48b和48d供电,因而给移动单元22内的灯供电,因此在显示器14的可视表面上增大了光的输出。在这实施例中,开关被这样设计,使得基站26的内部电源没有高电压产生除非移动单元22完全附着到基站26上。这实施例允许使用该移动单元内的单个电源,以保持低重量和低功耗,而在对显示器表面光的强度作出折中时能使电池寿命延长。
图3A图示出按照本发明的第二实施例的一移动显示系统50。这实施例也具有与图1系统相同的基本配置,而且包括一移动单元52和一基站56。基站56还包括一检测机构,例如,开关57。
图3B图示出用于本发明的第二实施例的背光系统60。背光系统60包括移动单元52内的第一照明电路61a和基站56内的第二背光电路61b。电路61a包括一位于移动单元52边28c附近的一单个光源,例如灯64c,和一由电池(未画出)供电的单个内置电源68c。电路61b包括多个另外的光源,例如分别位于表面15,29a和29b附近的灯64a,64b,和64d,以及多个另外的电源68a,68b和68d。在配接方式时,使用灯28c并由内置电源68c供电。在配接方式时,除了灯64c外还使用灯64a,64b和64d,并分别由与AC电源插座相连的电源68a、68b和68d供电。所有的这些灯都可以是荧光灯,LED,或其它类型的光源。
在这第二实施例中,移动单元52的表面28a,28b和28d可以用,例如透明或半透明的材料构成,它们能将来自移动单元52外面的光耦合进该移动单元的背光结构。另外,移动单元52的全部包覆塑料也可以由这样的透明或半透明材料制作。基站的表面28a,28b和28d也可用能将来自灯64a,64b,和64d的光从基站56耦合进移动单元52的材料构造。当移动单元52以配接方式附着到基站56时,开关就被触发,同时基站内的灯就被供电。这就使光通过表面对28a/15,28b/29b,和28d/29a,在光学上被耦合进移动单元52,因此在显示器14的可视表面上增大了光的输出。
这个实施例允许在该移动单元内使用单个电源和单个光源,以保持低重量和低功耗,而在对显示器表面的光的强度作出折衷时能使电池寿命延长。
尽管本发明已结合具体的实施例作了描述,但显然,本技术的普通人员很明显可根据前面的说明进行很多的改造,改进和变化。因此,本发明企图包括属于附录的权利要求的精神和范围的所有这些改造,改进和变化。

Claims (6)

1.一种移动显示系统(20),包括:
能由电池供电的移动单元(22),和一能由外部电源供电的基站(26);
在该移动单元(22)内的第一背光电路(41a),该第一背光电路包括一配置在移动单元(22)的边附近的光源和一用来给所述光源供电的第一电源(48c),及
在该基站(26)内的第二背光电路(41b),该第二背光电路是可与该外部电源相连的,而且包括一装置,该装置在所述移动单元(22)附着在该基站(26)时可用来增加该移动单元(22)内的背光强度。
2.权利要求1的移动显示系统(40),其中该第一背光电路包括多个光源(42a-42d),预先选出的一个所述光源(42c)由该第一电源(48c)供电,该第二背光电路内的该装置包括至少一个另外的电源(48a,48b,48d),以便在该移动单元(22)附着于该基站(26)时对该第一背光电路内的其它光源(42a,42b,42d)供电。
3.权利要求1的移动显示系统(40),其中该第二背光电路内的该装置包括一个或多个配置在该基站(26)边附近的光源(64a,64b,64d),和至少一个另外的电源(68a,68b,68d)用来给所述的一个或多个光源(64a,64b,64d)供电,该基站(26)和该移动单元(22)被安排来将来自所述的一个或多个另外的光源的光耦合进该移动单元(22)。
4.权利要求3的移动显示系统(40),其中该基站(26)和该移动单元(22)具有一些选出的用能够耦合光的材料制作的表面(15,29a,29b;28a,28b,28d)。
5.权利要求1的移动显示系统(40),其中该基站(26)还包括一检测机构(36)用来检测该移动单元(22)是否附着在该基站(26)上。
6.权利要求1的移动显示系统(40),其中该移动单元(22)包括一平面板显示器(14)。
