Abstract

背景技术
电池操作装置,如无线传输/接收单元(WTRU)越频繁地寻找传送给它的可能数据,该装置消耗的电力就越多。在不仅提供用电话的通话方式,还提供数据传输的网络及装置中,该装置寻找自网络的消息的方式依据该装置是否寻找进来的电话或进来的数据传输而有所不同。
关于用电话的通话方式,用户习惯于地面网络,其中在特定电话号码被拨号后,铃声几乎立即被听到。为符合在无线环境的此期望,一种WTRU必须常常扫描网络以最小化当认知一个人发出电话时建立连接的延迟,亦即,该WTRU必须常常扫瞄网络以寻找拨入的电话以最小化在网络送出一个呼叫信号或消息与接收WTRU实际上检查到该呼叫信号之间的时间。
此种装置非常合适用于用电话的通话方式,但对数据传输则为效率差的。关于数据传输,不需要确保几乎实时响应于一呼叫所必须的严格要求。当传输数据至如传呼机及类似装置的WTRU时,较长的延迟一般是被容忍的。然而,一般希望所述装置“实时”响应显示有拨入数据传输的消息,所以,当处理数据传输时,在某些情况下,该网络亦必须被相当频繁地扫描,但即使在此种情况下,网络必须被扫描的频率少于当处理用电话的通话方式时。
可接受的延迟量依据被传输的数据形式及用户的喜好而异,例如,当数据被非频繁地更新时,(例如交通或气象数据),较长的延迟可被容忍。在传 呼机的情况下,合理的响应时间应以用户所预期的时间延迟以响应经传呼消息的方式而被评估。在多重网络传输(例如股票报价、运动比分等)的情况下,一些用户希望数据偶尔被更新以使它们具较长的电池寿命,其它用户较不在意电池寿命且仅希望数据快速被更新。希望常常更新的用户的实例为希望快速信息更新的人及他们的WTRU连接至外部电力供应的人。在例如股票报价的情况下,如存在偶尔观看者、及希望获得立即变化通知的人。因此,若用户希望快速地响应消息,则响应时间应相当快速,但仍远大于WTRU知道有拔入电话的所需响应时间。
因此,希望具一种方法及系统以有效地支持数据传输及用电话的通话方式。
发明内容
一种无线网络允许WTRU可根据同步调度以在静止(quiescent)操作模式中操作,同步信息被提供至该WTRU以通知它们何时它们可为静止模式及何时它们必须唤醒及恢复数据。
本发明提供一种用于在无线发射/接收单元(WTRU)中使用的方法,该方法包括:
从基站接收包括同步调度的帧,其中该帧包括多个时隙,并且该同步调度指示包括所述WTRU预定的数据的多个时隙中的至少一个时隙;
在被指示为包括所述WTRU预定的数据的多个时隙中的至少一个时隙期间接收数据;以及
在未被指示为包括所述WTRU预定的数据的多个时隙中的至少一个时隙期间运行在静止状态中。
本发明还提供一种用于在无线发射/接收单元(WTRU)中使用的方法,该方法包括:

具体实施方式
根据本发明,同步信息被提供至该无线传输/接收单元(WTRU)以通知它们何时它们可为静止模式(亦即何时它们可为睡眠状态)及何时它们必须唤醒及恢复数据。为叙述本发明目的,一种WTRU可具有仅传输、仅接收、或传输及接收能力,亦即,一种WTRU可为能在无线环境接收及/或传输数据的任何形式装置。
现在参照图1,一种网络的代表被表示,其中一或更多基站21与多个WTRU通信,例如被提及的WTRU 22,当叙述本发明时。如所解释的,WTRU22可为由网络支持的任何数目的装置,实例包括用户设备(UE)、手机、传呼机、Blackberry(TM)装置、具有调制解调器连接的计算机或能够在无线环境操作的任何其它装置。该基站21由无线电网络控制器(RNC)25控制,其执行各种网络监督及通信功能。该基站21包括信号处理电路31及RF阶段32,其包括传输功能。由基站21的信号被传输至在其小区或传输区域(以天线33、 34表示)内的WTRU。WTRU 22具RF阶段37及信号处理阶段38,一种接收功能由WTRU的RF阶段37提供以接收由基站21传输的信号。在双路径装置的情况下,RF阶段32及37皆具传输及接收功能,允许WTRU 22在上行链路传输数据及在下行链路接收数据。虽然传输需要较接收明显较大的能量,静止操作的问题主要影响下行链路,因此WTRU 22的接收器功能是非常重要的。
根据本发明,当RF阶段37正在接收来自基站21的信号时,WTRU 22使用其信号处理电路38以进行控制,这允许WTRU 22的接收功能的操作主要在当信号被期望要包括特定WTRU 22预定(intend for)的数据的期间为活动的。在至少一些当信号不是预定给特定WTRU 22的时间期间,WTRU变得静止,这意味着由WTRU 22处理的大部分接收及信号处理被关断。
不论数据被以哪种方式从网络传输,该WTRU被优选地同步以使它们可被唤醒及进入睡眠以最大化电池寿命并满足用户喜好。提供至WTRU的同步信息根据数据被自网络传送的方式来被提供,亦即,不论数据被以哪种方式从网络传输,同步信息被提供至WTRU以使它们知道何时它们必须被唤醒及何时它们可进入睡眠。
如本领域技术人员所公知的,数据可以各种方式根据需要从网络提供至WTRU,在一个具体实施方式中,数据可以经调度传输形式被传送,在此情况下,网络以已知调度传输各种形式的广播或组播数据,此调度被紧密地同步为传送WTRU及接收WTRU已知的时间帧。该WTRU可接着同步它们的唤醒以寻找何时数据可以被或将被传送的时机。为在第三代蜂窝式网络中进行这一具体实施方式,调度信息可由共享控制信道(如广播共享控制信道(BCCH))信令或是专用控制信道(DCCH)信令而被提供。在BCCH信令被使用的情况,调度(亦即,同步)信息可对所有广播及组播服务信令。若DCCH信令被使用,则仅特定关于接收WTRU服务的调度会被用信号发送。
在另一具体实施方式中,数据可以多网络传输的方式被传输,亦即,如所提及的,一些用户希望信息仅偶尔被更新以有利于较长的电池寿命,然而其它用户希望数据快速地被更新而较不在意电池寿命。所以,在此具体实施方式中,数据以符合用户更新频率对电池寿命的喜好的速度被传输(即使没有任何数据变化)。通过以同步的速度快速地传送数据(亦即以用户所需要的最高可用速度)及重复该传输即使当没有任何数据变化时,单独接收WTRU可根据用户喜好在不同时间间隔唤醒及搜寻数据。通过提供可调整设定程度,这满足了两组用户(及在二者之间)的需求。
因为可接受延迟量依据特定用户应用而变化,可能在延迟及电力消耗间的任何折衷对不同用户具不同最优值,所以延迟(亦即延迟时间)可基于用途被最佳化,这是因为低延迟与低电力消耗冲突。当WTRU不处于活动使用时间的期间,这一情况变得尤其显着。
为在第三代峰窝式网络进行此具体实施方式,一旦接收WTRU知道经调度广播或组播传输,之后该接收WTRU就可基于需求基准获得在前向接入信道(FACH)或下行链路共享信道(DSCH)上传输的服务(亦即经调度广播或组播传输)。网络会在无线链路控制透明或非应答模式中传输广播或组播数据,其允许该接收WTRU决定接收是自动需要的而不需要交互作用的还是引起将在网络上被认知的错误。
本具体实施方式的一个改进在于仅直到某些WTRU在网络的范围应答接收时,多重网络传输才被提供以进行传输。这一改进具有当传输不再为必要时可结束传输,并且还提供一些强健性(robustness)至信息传输以适当地起动装置的优点。这一改进具有需要来自WTRU的上行链路传输的缺点及可能不合适大量的WTRU。关于在第三代蜂窝式网络的实施方式,有多个网络应答的可替换实施方式,例如,当有单一接收WTRU时,无线电链路控制应答模式提供确保传输的自动回复请求机制,当有多个接收WTRU时,层3 应答可由在接入层内的无线电资源控制信令或是由非接入层信令的透明性的数据传递而被提供。
在另一具体实施方式中,网络仅传送等待传输的消息,亦即,不是一直传送消息,在某些时刻,更有效的是仅通知WTRU有存在要给它们的消息。在第三代蜂窝式网络消息的可用性由共享控制信道(例如BCCH)标识,期望消息的这些WTRU之后请求所述消息自网络的传输,消息的请求可为特别消息或组播服务的注册以接收与该服务相关联的一个或多个消息,当仅少量WTRU被期望请求实际消息时,且多个WTRU期望进行此工作的实际能力时,此方法是合适的。此情况可以在例如在通知WTRU的消息存在的初始传输中仅有限信息的情况的情况下发生。在第三代峰窝式网络中,该接收WTRU会以接入层或非接入层信令的方式产生服务的请求,而后网络用信号发送广播调度信息或是建立专用无线电承载以进行服务传输。亦即,知道具请求消息或多消息服务的WTRU的数目的网络决定传输的最有效方法,若有很多接受者,则信息的调度会在共享控制信道上用信号发送,该信息可标识共享信道如FACH或DSCH,及服务接收的传输时间。若有少量的WTRU请求消息或服务,则专用信道会被建立至每一个与该消息或服务相关联的请求或注册的WTRU。
现在参考图2,包括由基站至多个WTRU所传输的传输序列的信号帧图被示出。如所提及的,当与所述消息或服务相关联的特定WTRU或一纽WTRU为唤醒的并寻求数据时,传输的递送被同步以使导引至与所述消息或服务相关联的特定WTRU或一组WTRU的消息被递送,为完成这一过程,在一个具体实施方式中,该传输被分为帧54,其中七十二(72)个帧54构成一个超级帧(superframe),如图2所示。为简化叙述本发明,两个超级帧51、52的部分被示出。然而,应注意超级帧51、52为超级帧重复系列的一部分,还应注意有具72个帧的超级帧被提供仅做为实例,这是因为其它多个帧序 列也是可能的。
帧54被区分为时隙56,如帧71的扩充视图71E所示。在每一个帧(例如帧71)的时隙56内包括被指定为如零(0)至(14)的传输分组,每一个时隙56可包括一个或多个装置预定的数据。举例来说,时隙6包括用于WTRU 101的数据,而时隙12包括用于WTRU 102及103的数据。
WTRU 101至103优选地同步它们的接收以使它们能够在它们各自被分配的时间间隔接收数据。数据接收的固定时间周期期间的使用意味着一旦WTRU被提供其同步消息(亦即关于该WTRU预定的信号的特定时间序列的消息),该WTRU就可在一部分超级帧用该时间序列进行同步及维持睡眠状态(亦即静止)。这一过程产生减少的电力消耗,这是因为在睡眠状态的WTRU的大部分或所有RF接收电路为关断的。该WTRU优选为使大部分其信号处理电路亦被关断。在此具体实施方式中,电力消耗的减少大约对应于被忽略的帧数目。
一旦被同步,WTRU 101至103就仅在其与特定交迭周期(称为传输时间间隔(TT1))的各自时隙、无线电帧或多个帧中被唤醒。从网络的角度来说,对每一个超级帧,在传输数据至WTRU 101之前,网络会等待帧71、时隙6。
应注意若需要时,WTRU可在其它时间唤醒(亦即除了它们的被指定的时隙),例如,可能有必要由某些公共信号唤醒。此外,网络及WTRU可被适用以使特殊“唤醒”信号被自网络传输至特定WTRU或一组WTRU,其中WTRU必须被唤醒并在它们的指定时隙外接收数据。
应注意使传输成为超级帧、帧、及时隙的划分可根据需要而变化。例如,在上文的讨论中,假设WTRU在至少每一个超级帧唤醒并在至少一个帧的至少一个时隙中寻找数据。然而,如所述,数据传输可根据需要提供给用户以满足用户对电池寿命及数据更新频率的喜好。所以,特殊同步机制的时序可类似地被变化。举例来说,其可能产生在网络数据递送及其WTRU的接 收之间的同步调度,其中在WTRU唤醒及在其指定帧及时隙寻找消息的WTRU唤醒周期之间,超过一个超级帧的时间流逝(pass)。

Claims (10)
1.一种用于在无线发射/接收单元(WTRU)中使用的方法,该方法包括:
从基站接收包括同步调度的帧,其中该帧包括多个时隙,并且该同步调度指示包括所述WTRU预定的数据的多个时隙中的至少一个时隙;
在被指示为包括所述WTRU预定的数据的多个时隙中的至少一个时隙期间接收数据;以及
在未被指示为包括所述WTRU预定的数据的多个时隙中的至少一个时隙期间运行在静止状态中。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述多个时隙中的至少一个时隙包括用于多个WTRU的数据。
3.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中所述帧被分组为一系列帧,并且每个WTRU被分配所述一系列帧内的多个时隙中的至少一个时隙。
