技术领域
本发明总的涉及用于端接同轴电缆的连接器,尤其涉及具有一电缆夹持部件的同轴电缆连接器。
背景技术
长久以来人们就知道使用连接器来端接同轴电缆,从而将电缆连接到各种电子装置,比如电视机、收音机等。已有技术的同轴连接器通常包括:一连接器主体,它具有用于容纳一同轴电缆的一环形套管;一螺母,它与套管可旋转地连接,提供连接器与一外部装置的机械连接;以及一环形杆,它插在套管和螺母之间。还可将一弹性O形环放置在套管和螺母之间可旋转接合处,以在该处设置防水密封。套管包括一电缆容纳端,用于可插入地容纳一被插入的同轴电缆,并且在连接器主体的相反的一端,螺母包括一内螺纹端部,该端部使主体可与一外部装置螺纹连接。

传统的同轴电缆通常包括由一种绝缘体所包围的一中心导体。一导电箔置于绝缘体的外层,而一编织而成的导电屏蔽包围着覆盖绝缘体的金属箔。一外绝缘套包围着该屏蔽。为了准备好该同轴电缆以用于端接,将外绝缘套向后剥开,暴露出一部分编织而成的导电屏蔽,该部分导电屏蔽向后折起,盖在绝缘套上。一部分由导电箔覆盖的绝缘体从绝缘套向外伸出,一部分中心导体从绝缘体内部向外伸出。在组装到同轴电缆上之后,将环形杆插到盖有金属箔的绝缘体和电缆的导电屏蔽之间。
现有的同轴连接器的一个问题是它们经常不能充分地夹持住同轴屏蔽电缆,尤其是直径较小的同轴电缆。另外,对于直径较小的电缆,将连接器的内部同外部部件密封开来也变得很困难。
因此,需要提供一种带有结构部件的同轴电缆连接器,用以加强夹持和密封,尤其是对于直径较小的电缆。
发明内容
本发明的一个目的是提供一种用于端接一同轴电缆的同轴电缆连接器。
本发明的另一个目的是提供一种同轴电缆,它具有可加强对一同轴电缆、尤其是较小直径的同轴电缆的夹持的结构。
为了有效地达到这些和其它的目的,本发明提供了一种同轴电缆连接器。本发明的连接器通常包括:一连接器主体,该连接器主体具有一向后的套筒容纳端和一内部接合面;以及一可轴向运动的锁紧套筒,该锁紧套筒被容纳在连接器主体向后的套筒容纳端中。锁紧套筒具有向后的电缆容纳端和相反的向前连接器插入端。向前的连接器插入端形成有用于在将锁紧套筒从一第一位置运动到一第二位置时夹持插入套筒中的一电缆的至少一个柔性指形件。
在一个优选实施例中,连接器主体包括一内部倾斜部分,该部分形成在内部接合面上以用于使柔性指形件在锁紧套筒从第一位置运动到第二位置时径向向内弯曲。柔性指形件还较佳地包括锥形的向前端部,该端部形成一尖锐的边缘以便于夹紧电缆。
该连接器还可包括置于连接器主体中的一环形杆和可旋转地连接于杆子的一螺母。套筒和/或连接器主体可由一种塑料材料制成,且较佳地包括协配接合面,以使套筒可从第一位置轴向运动到第二位置,在第一位置中,一电缆宽松地保持在连接器中,在第二位置中,一电缆被固定在连接器中。
较佳地,锁紧套筒包括多个柔性指形件,这些指形件形成套筒的向前的连接器插入端。在此情况下,套筒的至少两个毗邻的指形件可由一连接板连接,从而增加夹持强度。同样,柔性指形件可包括形成在其中的一侧部槽,以增强指形件的柔性。
本发明还包括将一同轴电缆端接到一连接器中的方法。该方法包括以下步骤:将一电缆的一端插到一锁紧套筒的一向后电缆容纳端,并将锁紧套筒相对于一连接器从一第一位置轴向运动到一第二位置,在第一位置中,一电缆宽松地保持在连接器中,在第二位置中,一电缆被固定在连接器中。套筒的轴向运动使设置在套筒上的一柔性指形件径向向内弯曲,从而夹持电缆的端部。这样,可将柔性指形件与连接器主体的一内部倾斜部分接合,这使指形件在锁紧套筒从第一位置向第二位置运动时径向向内弯曲。
为了进一步加强对电缆的夹持,置于连接器主体中的环形杆较佳地包括:一第一径向向外突起的倒钩,它位于环形杆的一向后端;以及一第二径向向外突起的倒钩,它位于第一倒钩的前方。更具体地说,该杆子可包括:一凸肩部分,该凸肩部分与连接器主体压配合接合;以及一管状环形延长部分,该管状环形延长部分在凸肩部分以及第一和第二倒钩之间延伸,且具有最大的外径。这样,第一和第二倒钩具有大于环形管状延长部分的最大外径的外径。
本发明可使使用者可用小于在现有连接器中所用的力将一同轴屏蔽电缆插入同轴连接器中,从而避免同轴屏蔽电缆弯曲。本发明还可使同轴屏蔽电缆可牢固地固定在同轴连接器中而不会使同轴屏蔽电缆弯曲。

参见图1,其中示出了根据本发明的同轴连接器30。连接器30具有外壳32(有时称为“连接器主体”或“套管”),该外壳具有第一端34和容纳同轴屏蔽电缆的套筒40。位于第一端34的相反端处的是第二端38,该第二端具有用于将连接器30与所需的匹配装置(未示出)连接的扭锁(twistlock)装置31。所示的连接器30为已组装完整且紧凑的结构。外壳32和套筒40可具有圆筒状的外形。
在图1和3中示出了一典型的同轴屏蔽电缆10。同轴屏蔽电缆10具有由绝缘层14包围的中心导体12。绝缘层14由一箔片16和一金属编织物18覆盖。编织物18再由一外层20覆盖,该外层可为塑料或其它的绝缘材料。
为了装备好该同轴屏蔽电缆10以用于连接器30,用钢丝钳或类似的装置将电缆剥开。将绝缘层14的一部分除去,中心导体12的一部分就露出来了。箔片16仍被绝缘层14覆盖。金属编织物18向后折叠到外层20的上方,形成叠合部分21。叠合部分21部分地延伸超出外层20的长度。同轴屏蔽电缆10的已准备好的端部22显示在图2中,准备和连接器30一起使用。
参见图1和3,将更详细地描述连接器30。如上所述,连接器30具有基本上为圆筒形的外壳32。外壳32可由诸如铝或铜之类可铸造、挤压成形或机加工的金属材料制成。外壳32具有第一端34,其内径36的尺寸被设置成用来以最小的剩余空间来容纳套筒40的外径48。外壳32具有相反端38。斜壁42设置在第一端34和第二端38之间的外壳32的内表面37上。如将要进一步详细讨论的,壁42与套筒40协配,将同轴屏蔽电缆10固定在连接器30中。开口46位于斜壁42的中心。开口46的尺寸设置成可接纳杆子66,这在下面进一步详细描述。

终端56具有其尺寸被设置成可容纳同轴屏蔽电缆10的中心导体12的中空部分60。终端56具有向外壳32的第一端34延伸的第一端57。第一端57形成通向终端56的中空部分60。位于中空部分60中的是至少一个弹簧触点58,它由弹性金属材料制成,并被布置成与同轴屏蔽电缆10的中心导体12相接触。在另一个实施例中(未示出),弹簧触点58可与终端56一体形成,从而形成整体终端。终端56的第二端58与第一端57相反,采取向连接器30的第二端38延伸的尖头的形式。
还是参见图3,终端组件50还包括与第二绝缘盖53毗邻的杆子66。杆子66的尺寸做成通过斜壁42的开口46而向第一端34延伸。杆子66大致为带有光滑外表面67的圆柱形,且被固定在绝缘体52和后壁42之间的位置。杆子由诸如铝或铜的金属材料制成。杆子66位于第一端34的中心位置处,因此当将同轴屏蔽电缆10插入连接器30时,它是被置于箔片16和编织物18之间的。杆子66的光滑外表面67可使将同轴屏蔽电缆10插入连接器30的力最小,且减少弯曲的可能。杆子66的光滑外表面67还可使连接器的制造简单。如以下将更详细地描述的,较佳地,杆子66在器外表面67上具有多个抬起的倒钩64,这些倒钩在同轴屏蔽电缆10被按压靠在杆子66上时用于夹持编织物18。
再参见图5和6,可运动地容纳在外壳32的第一端34中的是将同轴屏蔽电缆10牢固固定在连接器30中的套筒40。套筒40可为具有带着向上延伸的侧壁72的基座70的圆柱形。侧壁72在与基座大致平行的上部74处终止。套筒孔76从基座70通过套筒40延伸到上部74。套筒孔76的尺寸被设置成可使同轴屏蔽电缆10以最小的间隙通过套筒40。
多个弹性凸片或指形件78围着套筒40的上部74上套筒孔76的开口放置。弹性凸片78具有倾斜或呈角度的端部80(图6),它们位于套筒40上,从而当将套筒插入外壳32的第一端34中时,形成在外壳32的内表面37上的斜壁42将与弹性凸片78的呈角度部分80接触。从而将它们向套筒孔76的中心推。
套筒40还可具有在侧壁72的外表面73上的环形边缘86。外壳32可在其内表面37上具有对应的槽88,槽88接纳环形边缘86以在套筒40和外壳之间形成互相协配的定位锁结构。较佳地,套筒40的外径尺寸被设置成小于第一端34的内径36,以使套筒40可插入第一端34中。
为了应用本发明,使用者首先如图2所示的那样准备好同轴屏蔽电缆10。然后,再将同轴屏蔽电缆10通过套筒40的套筒孔76插入,从而使同轴屏蔽电缆10的叠合部分21延伸过弹性凸片78。然后使用者再将同轴屏蔽电缆10和套筒40的上部74推进连接器30的第一端34中。随着使用者将同轴屏蔽电缆10推进连接器30,终端56和弹簧触点58接纳中心导体12。同时,将杆子66推进编织物18和箔片16之间,与同轴屏蔽电缆10建立电气和机械接合。
参见图4,在将同轴屏蔽电缆10完全插进外壳32从而使杆子66插进编织物18和箔片16之间后,将套筒40推进外壳32中,从而弹性凸片78将接触斜壁42的接触部分44。在与接触部分44接触之前,弹性凸片78用虚线表示。壁42的接触部分44和弹性凸片78的呈角度部分80互相接触,以使弹性凸片78向套筒孔76的中心偏转。随着弹性凸片78被偏置,它们被压进外层20中,以将同轴屏蔽电缆10如图4所示那样牢固地固定在位。较佳地,接触部分44具有尺寸小于延伸自套筒40的弹性凸片78的锥形。
使用者继续将套筒40插进第一端34中,直到环形边缘86与第一端34的内表面37中的槽88接合为止,从而将套筒40固定在位。同时,基座70的上凸缘71可与第一端34接合,从而向使用者表明套筒40已完全插入第一端34中。在弹性凸片78和杆子66之间所产生的压力以及由倒钩64所额外提供的夹持力可防止不小心将同轴屏蔽电缆10从连接器30拆下。
现在参见图7和8,示出了根据本发明的同轴电缆连接器的另一个实施例。图7和8中所示类型的连接器100在本行业中是已知的,为一种C4连接器。它通常包括四个元件:连接器主体102、环形杆104、可旋转螺母106和可移动锁紧套筒108。然而,可以想到的是,连接器主体102和环形杆104可集成为一个元件,且/或可以使用除可旋转螺母106以外的其它紧固装置。另外,弹性密封O形环107可放置在连接器主体102、环形杆104和螺母106之间其接合处,从而在该处设置防水密封。
连接器主体102为伸长的大致为圆柱形的部件,它较佳地由塑料制成以使成本最小。或者,连接器主体102可由金属等制成。连接器主体102具有与环形杆104和螺母106连接的一个端部103以及用于可插入地容纳套筒108的、相反端的套筒容纳端110。套筒容纳端110形成具有一个或多个槽114和/或突起115的内部接合面112,这些槽和/或突起与形成在套筒108的外表面上的相配合的槽116和/或突起117接合,将主体108中的套筒锁紧。

再参见图9,可通过在套筒108的前端设置纵向插槽142来形成指形件138。另外,指形件138可包括锥形端144,从而形成相对尖锐的边缘。尖锐边缘144会随着连接器主体102的内部倾斜部分140使指形件138变形而咬合进电缆10中,从而提供更大的夹持力并防止电缆被拉出连接器。

随着套筒108运动到其第二位置,电缆10的外套20和屏蔽18开始被压缩而钳夹在杆子104的倒钩124和套筒108之间的环形区域126中。这样,套筒108的内表面上较佳地设有向内的凸肩部分149,以便于将电缆外套20压靠于杆子104的倒钩124。同样,随着套筒108运动到其第二位置,套筒指形件138由形成在连接器主体102中的倾斜部分140向内推,从而进一步与电缆外套接合。

Claims (20)
1.一种同轴电缆连接器包括:
一连接器主体,该连接器主体具有一向后的套筒容纳端和一内部接合面;以及
一可轴向运动的锁紧套筒,该锁紧套筒被容纳在所述连接器主体的所述向后的套筒容纳端中,所述锁紧套筒具有一向后的电缆容纳端和一相反的向前连接器插入端,所述向前的连接器插入端形成有用于在将所述锁紧套筒从一第一位置运动到一第二位置时夹持插入所述套筒中的一电缆的至少一个柔性指形件。
2.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述连接器主体包括一内部倾斜部分,该部分形成在所述内部接合面上以用于使所述柔性指形件在所述锁紧套筒从所述第一位置运动到所述第二位置时径向向内弯曲。
3.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,还包括:
一环形杆,该环形杆被置于所述连接器主体中;以及
一螺母,该螺母可旋转地连接于所述环形杆。
4.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述套筒由一种塑料材料制成。
5.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述连接器主体由一种塑料材料制成。
6.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述柔性指形件包括一锥形的向前端部,该端部形成一尖锐的边缘以便于夹紧电缆。
7.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述锁紧套筒包括一连接器主体外部接合面,该外部接合面与所述连接器主体的所述内部接合面协配,以使所述套筒可进行从所述第一位置到所述第二位置的轴向运动,在第一位置,一电缆宽松地保持在连接器中,在第二位置,一电缆被固定在连接器中。
8.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述锁紧套筒包括多个柔性指形件,这些指形件形成所述套筒的所述向前的连接器插入端,至少两个毗邻的指形件由一连接板连接。
9.如权利要求1所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述柔性指形件包括形成在其中的一侧部槽,以增强所述指形件的柔性。
10.一种将一同轴电缆端接到一连接器中的方法包括以下步骤:
将一电缆的一端插到一锁紧套筒的一向后电缆容纳端,所述锁紧套筒可运动地容纳在一连接器主体的一向后的套筒容纳端;以及
将所述锁紧套筒相对于所述连接器主体从一第一位置轴向运动到一第二位置,在第一位置,一电缆宽松地保持在连接器中,在第二位置,一电缆被固定在连接器中,所述套筒的所述轴向运动使设置在所述套筒上的一柔性指形件径向向内弯曲,从而夹持电缆的一外表面。
11.如权利要求10所述的方法,其特征在于,所述套筒使所述柔性指形件与所述连接器主体的一内部倾斜部分接合,所述倾斜部分使所述指形件在所述锁紧套筒从所述第一位置向所述第二位置运动时径向向内弯曲。
12.一种同轴电缆连接器包括:
一连接器主体,该连接器主体具有一向后的套筒容纳端;
一可轴向运动的锁紧套筒,该锁紧套筒被容纳在所述连接器主体的所述向后的套筒容纳端中;以及
一环形杆,该环形杆位于所述连接器主体中,所述杆子具有:一第一径向向外突起的倒钩,它位于环形杆的一向后端;以及一第二径向向外突起的倒钩,它位于所述第一倒钩的前方。
13.如权利要求12所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述杆子包括:一凸肩部分,该凸肩部分与所述连接器主体压配接合;以及一管状环形延长部分,该管状环形延长部分在所述凸肩部分以及所述第一和第二倒钩之间延伸并具有最大的外径,所述第一和第二倒钩具有大于所述环形管状延长部分的最大外径的外径。
14.如权利要求12所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述锁紧套筒具有一向后的电缆容纳端和一相反的向前连接器插入端,所述向前的连接器插入端形成有用于在将所述锁紧套筒从一第一位置运动到一第二位置时夹持插入所述套筒中的一电缆的至少一个柔性指形件。
15.如权利要求14所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述连接器主体包括一内部倾斜部分,该部分形成在所述内部接合面上以用于使所述柔性指形件在所述锁紧套筒从所述第一位置运动到所述第二位置时径向向内弯曲。
16.如权利要求14所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述套筒由一种塑料材料制成。
17.如权利要求14所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述连接器主体由一种塑料材料制成。
18.如权利要求14所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述柔性指形件包括一锥形的向前端部,该端部形成一尖锐的边缘以便于夹紧电缆。
19.如权利要求14所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述锁紧套筒包括多个柔性指形件,这些指形件形成所述套筒的所述向前的连接器插入端,至少两个毗邻的指形件由一连接板连接。
20.如权利要求14所述的同轴电缆连接器,其特征在于,所述柔性指形件包括形成在其中的一侧部槽,以增强所述指形件的柔性。
