Abstract

The hearing aid has the miniature loudspeaker normally employed replaced by a number of electroacoustic transducers embedded in the moulded plastics of the hearing aid module which fits within or behind the ear. The electroacoustic transducers may be provided using a multi-layer foil structure and are operated adjacent their resonance range, with a fuzzy logic used for matching to the rest of the hearing range.

Description

The task of a hearing aid is the sound pressure level of speech and all others desired acoustic signals in the hearing range of hearing impaired like to amplify so that he is between the individual hearing and uncomfortable threshold lies.

In principle, three types of hearing aids are available on the market:
1. Pocket hearing aids 2. "Behind the ear" hearing aids and 3. "In the ear" hearing aids. While the pocket hearing aids are characterized by high reinforcements and good acoustic properties, the market share of these devices is constantly decreasing due to poor comfort and for aesthetic reasons. The "rear" and "in the ear" hearing aids are limited due to the smaller distance between the microphone and miniature speaker in terms of acoustic amplification. (In the case of hearing aid acousticians, these miniature loudspeakers are simply referred to as listeners and here in the patent description in the future they will be referred to as electroacoustic transducers). The small battery volume makes electro-acoustic transducers with high efficiency required, but this is at the expense of the transmission quality, so that these hearing aids can often only be regarded as a support for lip reading. All electroacoustic transducers of the "rear" and "in the ear" hearing aids (class A, class B and class D) are limited by "peek clipper" or "automatic gain control" with regard to the output sound pressure, which is energetically is advantageous, but leads to large distortions.

The invention is based on the object, "behind" and "in the ear" hearing aids with we develop significantly better acoustic behavior and low power consumption.

The object is achieved in that instead of a miniature sound speaker several identical and / or different electroacoustic transducers ver turns and be integrated into the otoplastic. Similar to loudspeakers with several sound sources a much better sound can be achieved than if only a single electroacoustic transducer is used.

By combining this consist of several electroacoustic transducers the playback system with a control based on fuzzy logic ne the usual crossovers and filters saved and the electro-acoustics be operated near their resonance frequency, which is extremely low power consumption.

With a so-called "Neuro Fuzzy Input Gain Control" frequency response and Sound pressure optimally adapted to the individual hearing loss and at the same time ferti deviations of the electroacoustic transducers can be compensated.

Thanks to newly developed microtechnical processes such as B. the LIGA technology are acu tical converter systems in the required size can be produced inexpensively.

Fig. 1 shows an embodiment in the "behind the ear" type. By laying the transducer system ( 1 ) from the housing ( 2 ) in the earmold ( 3 ) increases the distance between the microphone ( 4 ) and the sound source, which allows higher gains; at the same time, bone conduction improves. Furthermore, smaller housings ( 1 ) or additional batteries can be used due to the omission of the handset volume.

Since the acoustic output signal is not generated in the housing but in the earmold, there is no need for the usual plastic tube, which worsens comfort and acoustics. Instead, an electrical connection ( 5 ) is required, which can be realized from highly flexible material or as earrings.

The earmold consists of the individual outer shape ( 6 ) and an always identical core ( 7 ), in which the electroacoustic transducer (I) - realized here as a multilayer film loudspeaker on a spiral band -, damping and ventilation systems are housed.
