Abstract

A swab for resorbable protection of a wound cavity comprises a soft foam structure, a soft foam support, surrounded by a resorbable, pref. collagen, soft foam enclosure, in which resorbable, semipermeable hollow fibres are embedded. The inner ends of the fibres are combined into a bundle, which is connected to a tube. The soft foam structure consists of 5-10% of open-cell soft polyurethane foam and 95-90% of soft foam, with foamed, resorbable hollow fibres. ADVANTAGE - The swab allows of continuous, non-invasive removal of exudate, and continuous feeding of active substances, e.g. antibiotics. Body tissues can grow without traumatic increase in pressure. (Dwg.0/2)

Description

The invention relates to a tamponade for absorbable, volu menactive cavity protection, preferably made with a poly Urethane structural foam support frame, co-foamed, resorbable barely collagen foam with incorporated absorbable permeable Hollow fiber arrangements existing, which allows, by ope On the one hand, surgical interventions resulted in a wound to carry out active / passive wound care, on the other hand but also in these wound cavities with a controlled reconstruction to reach the body's own tissue.

Foam structures (DD-WP 33 1 817 OE A61F 2/02) or textured meandering structures (EP 02 59 536 A 2 ) are known, but they are not suitable for temporary wound cavity protection because they are either used as a result of the Materials and construction principles are too inflexible or not absorbable, consequently they have to be changed frequently by the surgeon and, due to their relative stiffness, lead to mechanical irritation in the wound area.

The invention has for its object a structure for create resorbable, volume-active wound cavity protection, which gives the surgeon the continuous sterile and enables non-invasive removal of exudate and on the other hand continuous drug delivery, such as B. antibiotics, ge equips. In addition, the temporary support function of the resorbable volume-active wound cavity protection ingrowth of the body's own tissue without a traumatic increase in pressure The wound cavity allows for a balance between tissue growth and absorption of the support foam poses.

The aim of the invention is that by using a  compatible porous and above all largely resorbable Support insert in the form of a structural soft foam composite with embedded, equally resorbable semipermeable hollow fibers, both a possibility of continuous irrigation of the wound cavity with pas siver or active drainage is created to the outside, as well the reconstruction of the wound cavity through regrowth of the body to support tissue. Furthermore, by the support function on the soft foam composite prevents collapse of the wound cavity until these are completely through in the course of the healing process body's own tissue has been filled. The task is invented appropriately solved by the features mentioned in claim 1. The Advantage of the developed absorbable volume-active wound cavity lenprotektion is that the surgeon as the spatial Formations such as B. in hemisphere, dumbbell or whetstone shape derge Stalt are offered ready-made, so that intraoperative the surgeon is given the opportunity without a function function want to make a tailor-made cut.

Furthermore, the foamed resorbable Hohlfa targeted drug additions as well as active and passive deposition of sinus fluids takes place.

An embodiment of the invention is based on the following a drawing has been shown and described in more detail.
