- HINTERGRUND
- Erfindungsgebiet
- Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich allgemein auf Verfahren und Systeme zur Förderung von Kohlenwasserstoffen, Wasserstoff und/oder anderen Produkten aus kohlenwasserstoffhaltigen Formationen. Bestimmte Ausführungsformen beziehen sich auf die Verhinderung eines Rückströmens von Material in einen erhitzten Teil der Formation.
- Beschreibung des einschlägigen Standes der Technik
- Kohlenwasserstoffe, die aus unterirdischen Formationen gefördert werden, werden häufig als Energiequelle, als Einsatzmittel und als Verbraucherprodukte verwendet. Sorgen über die Erschöpfung von verfügbaren Kohlenwasserstoffquellen und Änderungen in der Gesamtqualität der geförderten Kohlenwasserstoffe haben zur Entwicklung von Prozessen für die wirksamere Ausbeute, Verarbeitung und/oder Verwendung der verfügbaren Kohlenwasserstoffquellen geführt. In situ-Prozesse können angewendet werden, um Kohlenwasserstoffmaterialien aus unterirdischen Formationen zu entfernen. Chemische und/oder physikalische Eigenschaften des Kohlenwasserstoffmaterials innerhalb einer unterirdischen Formation müssen gegebenenfalls geändert werden, damit Kohlenwasserstoffmaterial leichter aus der unterirdischen Formation entfernt werden kann. Chemische und physikalische Änderungen können in situ-Reaktionen umfassen, welche entfernbare Fluide, Zusammensetzungsänderungen, Löslichkeitsänderungen, Dichteänderungen, Phasenänderungen und/oder Viskositätsänderungen des Kohlenwasserstoffmaterials innerhalb der Formation produzieren. Ein Fluid kann ein Gas, eine Flüssigkeit, eine Emulsion, ein Schlamm und/oder ein Strom von Feststoffteilchen sein, der ähnliche Strömungseigenschaften wie ein Flüssigkeitsstrom hat, doch ist das Fluid darauf nicht beschränkt.
- Die Anwendung von Hitze auf Ölschieferformationen ist in den
US-Patenten Nrn. 2,923,535 an Ljungstrom und4,886,118 an Van Meurs et al. beschrieben. Die Hitze kann auf die Ölschieferformation durch Pyrolyse von Kerogen innerhalb der Ölschieferformation aufgebracht werden. Die Hitze kann auch die Formation frakturieren, um die Durchlässigkeit der Formation zu erhöhen. Die erhöhte Durchlässigkeit kann ermöglichen, daß Formationsfluid zu einem Förderschacht wandert, wo das Fluid aus der Ölschieferformation entfernt wird. In einem Prozeß, der von Ljungstrom offenbart wird, wird ein sauerstoffhaltiges gasförmiges Medium in ein permeables Stratum eingeführt, vorzugsweise während das permeable Stratum noch immer aus dem Vorerhitzungsschritt heiß ist, um eine Verbrennung zu intiieren, die das permeable Stratum erhitzt. - Das
US-Patent 3,999,607 offenbart ein Verfahren zur Gewinnung von Kohlenwasserstoffen aus einer Kohleformation, die zerkleinert und verbrannt wird, worauf Flüssigkeit und gasförmiger Brennstoff sowie andere Produkte zur Oberfläche gefördert werden. - Das Verfahren gemäß dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1 ist aus dem
US-Patent 3,273,640 bekannt, welches ein Verfahren zum Ableiten von Kondensat aus einem Dampfphasen-Formationsfluid zur Oberfläche durch eine Förderleitung offenbart, die innerhalb eines durchlässigen Einströmabschnittes eines Förderschachtes aufgehängt ist, durch welche zumindest ein Teil des Kondensates in die umgebende ölschieferhaltige Formation, in die Dampf eingeblasen wird, zurückströmen kann. Wie vorstehend erwähnt, ist ein signifikantes Maß an Anstrengungen unternommen worden, um Verfahren und Systeme für die ökonomische Förderung von Kohlenwasserstoffen, Wasserstoff und/oder anderen Produkten aus Formationen, die Kohlenwasserstoffe enthalten, zu entwickeln. Für die ökonomische Förderung von Kohlenwasserstoffen, Wasserstoff und/oder anderen Produkten aus erhitzten Formationen ist ein beschränkter Hitzeverlust von den erhitzten Teilen der Formation notwendig. Die Beschränkung des Hitzeverlustes von den erhitzten Teilen der Formation hat den technischen Vorteil, daß die Anzahl und/oder die Heizleistung der Heizeinrichtungen, die erforderlich sind, um die Temperatur des erhitzten Teiles der Formation anzuheben oder aufrechtzuerhalten, reduziert werden. - ZUSAMMENFASSUNG DER ERFINDUNG
- Die Erfindung schafft ein Verfahren zum Behandeln einer Formation, welches umfaßt: die Verwendung von Heizeinrichtungen, um einen erhitzten Teil der unterirdischen Formation zu erzeugen; die Verwendung einer Förderleitung, um Formationsfluid in einer Dampfphase aus dem erhitzten Teil der unterirdischen Formation gegen eine Fläche der unterirdischen Formation zu richten; die Bildung von Kondensat des Dampfphasen-Formationsfluids in oder nahe der Förderleitung; und die Umleitung des Kondensats des Dampfphasen-Formationsfluids zu einer Stelle unterhalb des erhitzen Teiles der Formation.
- Bei einigen Ausführungsformen umfaßt die Sammelvorrichtung einen Riser, welcher das Formationsfluid in der Dampfphase einer Förderleitung zuführt. Kondensat in der Förderleitung wird daran gehindert, an dem erhitzten Teil der Formation vorbeizuströmen. Die Flüssigkeit wird aus der Förderleitung gepumpt oder das Gas aus der Förderleitung angehoben.
- Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen umfaßt die Sammeleinrichtung einen Ablenker, welcher das Kondensat unter den erhitzten Teil der Formation ablenkt. Flüssigkeit wird entlang des Ablenkers so geführt, daß die Flüssigkeit Hitze aus der Formation nicht absorbiert, wenn sich die Flüssigkeit durch den Förderschacht nahe dem erhitzten Teil der Formation bewegt.
- KURZE BESCHREIBUNG DER ZEICHNUNGEN
- Vorteile der vorliegenden Erfindung ergeben sich für den Fachmann aus der nachfolgenden detaillierten Beschreibung von bevorzugten Ausführungsbeispielen und unter Bezugnahme auf die angeschlossenen Zeichnungen, in denen zeigen:

5 eine schematische Darstellung einer Ausführungsform des Ablenkers in dem Förderschacht. - Während die Erfindung in verschiedenen Modifikationen und alternativen Formen verwirklicht werden kann, sind spezifische Ausführungsbeispiele derselben anhand von Beispielen in den Zeichnungen gezeigt und werden nachfolgend detailliert beschrieben. Die Zeichnungen müssen nicht maßstabgerecht sind. Es versteht sich aber, daß die Zeichnungen und die detaillierte Beschreibung derselben die Erfindung nicht auf die besondere Ausführungsform einschränken, die hier offenbart ist.
- DETAILLIERTE BESCHREIBUNG
- Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich allgemein auf Systeme und Verfahren zum Behandeln von Kohlenwasserstoffen in den Formationen. Solche Formationen können behandelt werden, um die Kohlenwasserstoffprodukte, Wasserstoff und andere Produkte abzugeben.
- „Kohlenwasserstoffe" sind allgemein als Moleküle definiert, die hauptsächlich durch Kohlenstoff und Wasserstoffatome gebildet sind. Kohlenwasserstoffe können auch andere Elemente umfassen, wie, aber nicht beschränkt auf Halogene, metallische Elemente, Stickstoff, Sauerstoff und/oder Schwefel. Kohlenwasserstoffe können Kerogen, Bitumen, Pyrobitumen, Öle, Naturmineralwachse und Asphaltite sein, sind aber nicht darauf beschränkt. Kohlenwasserstoffe können in oder nahe der Mineralmatrix der Erde angeordnet sein. Die Matrizes können umfassen, sind aber nicht beschränkt auf Sedimentfels, Sande, Silicide, Karbonate, Diatomite und andere poröse Medien. „Kohlenwasserstofffluide" sind Fluide, die Kohlenwasserstoffe einschließen. Kohlenwasserstofffluide können Mitreißen oder Mitgerissenwerden in Nicht-Kohlenwasserstofffluiden umfassen (beispielsweise Wasserstoff, Stickstoff, Kohlenmonoxid, Kohlendioxid, Schwefelwasserstoff, Wasser und Ammoniak).
- Eine „Formation" umfaßt eine oder mehrere kohlenwasserstoffhaltige Lagen, eine oder mehrere nicht-kohlenwasserstoffhalti ge Lagen, eine Überlage und/oder eine Unterlage. Die „Überlage" und/oder „Unterlage" umfassen eine oder mehrere verschiedene Arten von undurchlässigen Materialien. Beispielsweise kann die Überlage und/oder Unterlage Fels, Schiefer, Tonstein oder nasse/dichte Karbonate umfassen. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen von in situ-Umwandlungsverfahren können die Überlage und/oder Unterlage eine kohlenwasserstoffhaltige Lage oder kohlenwasserstoffhaltige Lagen aufweisen, die relativ undurchlässig sind und während des in situ-Umwandlungsprozesses keinen Temperaturen unterworfen werden, die zu signifikanten Merkmalsänderungen der kohlenwasserstoffhaltigen Lagen der Überlage und/oder Unterlage führen. Beispielsweise kann die Unterlage Schiefer oder Tonstein umfassen, doch darf die Unterlage während des in situ-Umwandlungsverfahrens nicht auf Pyrolysetemperaturen erhitzt werden. In einigen Fällen kann die Überlage und/oder Unterlage etwas durchlässig sein.
- Die Ausdrücke „Formationsfluide" und „geförderte Fluide" beziehen sich auf Fluide, die aus der Formation entfernt werden, und können Pyrolysierfluide, Synthesegas, mobilisierte Kohlenwasserstoffe und Wasser (Dampf) umfassen. Formationsfluide können Kohlenwasserstofffluide sowie Nicht-Kohlenwasserstofffluide umfassen.
- Eine „Heizquelle" ist irgendein System zur Erzeugung von Hitze für zumindest einen Teil der Formation im wesentlichen mittels Übertragung durch Hitzeleitung und/oder -strahlung. Beispielsweise kann die Heizquelle eine elektrische Heizeinrichtung, wie ein isolierter Leiter, ein langgestrecktes Element und/oder ein Leiter sein, der innerhalb einer Leitung angeordnet ist. Einige Heizquellen können Hitze durch Verbrennen eines Brennstoffes außerhalb oder innerhalb der Formation umfassen. Solche Heizquellen können umfassen, sind aber nicht beschränkt auf Oberflächenbrenner, Bohrloch-Gasbrenner, flammenlos verteilte Kombustoren und natürlich verteile Kombustoren.
- Eine „Heizeinrichtung" ist irgendein System zum Erzeugen von Hitze in einem Schacht oder nahe einem Schachtbohrungsbereich. Heizeinrichtungen können elektrische Heizeinrichtungen, zirkuliertes Hitzetransferfluid oder Dampf, Brenner, Kombustoren, die mit Material in der Formation oder aus der Formation gefördert reagieren, und/oder Kombinationen derselben sein, sind aber nicht darauf beschränkt. Der Ausdruck „Schachtbohrung" bezieht sich auf ein Loch in der Formation, das durch Bohren oder Einsetzen einer Leitung in die Formation erzeugt wird. Wie hier verwendet, können die Ausdrücke „Schacht" und „Öffnung", wenn sie sich auf eine Öffnung in der Formation beziehen, austauschbar mit dem Ausdruck „Schachtbohrung" verwendet werden.
- „Pyrolyse" ist das Aufbrechen der chemischen Bindungen infolge des Aufbringens von Hitze. Pyrolyse umfaßt das Transformieren einer Verbindung in eine oder mehrere andere Substanzen ausschließlich durch Hitze. Hitze kann auf einen Abschnitt der Formation übertragen werden, um Pyrolyse zu verursachen. Die Ausdrücke „Pyrolysierfluide" oder „Pyrolyseprodukte" beziehen sich auf ein Fluid, das während der Pyrolyse von Kohlenwasserstoffen gefördert wird. Fluid, das durch Pyrolysereaktionen erzeugt wird, kann sich mit anderen Fluiden in der Formation mischen. Das Gemisch würde als Pyrolysierfluid oder Pyrolysierprodukt erachtet. Pyrolysierfluide umfassen, sind aber nicht beschränkt auf Kohlenwasserstoffe, Wasserstoff, Kohlendioxid, Kohlenmonoxid, Schwefelwasserstoff, Ammoniak, Stickstoff, Wasser und Gemische derselben.
- „Kondensierbare Kohlenwasserstoffe" sind Kohlenwasserstoffe, die bei 25°C bei 101 kPa Absolutdruck kondensieren. Konden sierbare Kohlenwasserstoffe können ein Gemisch von Kohlenwasserstoffen mit Kohlenstoffzahlen größer als 4 umfassen. „Nicht-kondensierbare Kohlenwasserstoffe" sind Kohlenwasserstoffe, die bei 25°C und 101 kPa Absolutdruck nicht kondensieren. Nicht-kondensierbare Kohlenwasserstoffe können Kohlenwasserstoffe umfassen, die Kohlenstoffzahlen kleiner als 5 haben.
- Kohlenwasserstoffe in Formationen können auf verschiedene Arten behandelt werden, um verschiedene Produkte zu erzeugen. Bei bestimmten Ausführungsformen werden diese Formationen in Stufen behandelt.
1 zeigt verschiedene Stufen des Erhitzens eines Teiles der Formation, die Kohlenwasserstoffe enthält.1 zeigt auch ein Beispiel einer Ausbeute („Y") in Ölfässern äquivalent pro Tonne (y-Achse) der Formationsfluide aus der Formation gegenüber der Temperatur („T") der erhitzten Formation in Grad Celsius (x-Achse). - Die Desorption von Methan und das Verdampfen von Wasser tritt während der Stufe 1 des Erhitzens auf. Das Erhitzen der Formation während der Stufe 1 kann so rasch wie möglich durchgeführt werden. Wenn die Formation anfänglich erhitzt wird, desorbieren Kohlenwasserstoffe in der Formation das adsorbierte Methan. Das desorbierte Methan kann aus der Formation gefördert werden. Wenn die Formation weiter erhitzt wird, verdampft das Wasser in der Formation. Das Wasser kann in einigen Formationen zwischen 10% und 50% des Porenvolumens in der Formation einnehmen. In anderen Formationen nimmt das Wasser größere oder kleinere Teile des Porenvolumens ein. Wasser verdampft typischerweise in der Formation zwischen 160°C und 285°C bei Drücken von 600 kPa absolut bis 7000 kPa absolut. Bei einigen Ausführungsformen erzeugt das verdampfte Wasser Benetzungsänderungen in der Formation und/oder einen erhöhten Formationsdruck. Die Benetzungsänderungen und/oder der erhöhte Druck können Pyrolysereaktionen oder andere Reaktionen in der Forma tion beeinträchtigen. Bei bestimmten Ausführungsbeispielen wird das verdampfte Wasser aus der Formation abgefördert. Bei anderen Ausführungsbeispielen wird das verdampfte Wasser zur Dampfextraktion und/oder Destillation in der Formation oder außerhalb der Formation verwendet. Das Entfernen des Wassers aus und das Erhöhen des Porenvolumens in der Formation erhöht den Lagerraum für Kohlenwasserstoffe im Porenvolumen.
- Bei bestimmten Ausführungsformen wird nach der Erhitzung in Stufe 1 der Teil der Formation weiter erhitzt, bis die Temperatur in dem Teil der Formation (zumindest) eine anfängliche Pyrolysetemperatur (wie eine Temperatur am unteren Ende des Temperaturbereiches, der in der Stufe 2 gezeigt ist) erreicht. Kohlenwasserstoffe in der Formation können während der Stufe 2 pyrolysiert werden. Ein Pyrolysetemperaturbereich variiert abhängig von der Art der Kohlenwasserstoffe in der Formation. Ein Pyrolysetemperaturbereich kann Temperaturen zwischen 250°C und 900°C umfassen. Der Pyrolysetemperaturbereich zur Erzeugung der erwünschten Produkte kann sich durch nur einen Teil des gesamten Pyrolysetemperaturbereiches erstrecken. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen kann der Pyrolysetemperaturbereich zur Erzeugung der erwünschten Produkte Temperaturen zwischen 250°C und 400°C, Temperaturen zwischen 250°C und 350°C oder Temperaturen zwischen 325°C und 400°C umfassen. Wenn die Temperatur der Kohlenwasserstoffe in der Formation langsam durch den Temperaturbereich von 250°C bis 400°C angehoben wird, kann die Förderung von Pyrolyseprodukten im wesentlichen vollständig sein, wenn sich die Temperatur 400°C nähert. Das Erhitzen der Formation mit einer Vielzahl von Heizquellen kann Wärmegradienten um die Heizquellen erzeugen, welche die Temperatur der Kohlenwasserstoffe in der Formation langsam durch den Pyrolysetemperaturbereich anheben.
- Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen einer in situ-Umwandlung wird ein Teil der Formation auf die erwünschte Temperatur erhitzt, statt daß die Temperatur langsam durch den Pyrolysetemperaturbereich erhöht wird. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen beträgt die erwünschte Temperatur 300°C. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen beträgt die erwünschte Temperatur 325°C. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen beträgt die erwünschte Temperatur 350°C. Andere Temperaturen können als erwünschte Temperatur gewählt werden. Die Überlagerung der Hitze aus den Heizquellen gestattet, daß die erwünschte Temperatur relativ rasch und wirksam in der Formation eingestellt wird. Der Energieeinsatz aus den Heizquellen in die Formation kann eingestellt werden, um die Temperatur in der Formation auf der erwünschten Temperatur zu halten. Der erhitzte Teil der Formation wird im wesentlichen auf der erwünschten Temperatur gehalten, bis die Pyrolyse abnimmt, derart, daß die Förderung der erwünschten Formationsfluide aus der Formation unwirtschaftlich wird. Teile der Formation, die der Pyrolyse unterworfen sind, können Bereiche einschließen, die durch Wärmetransfer von nur einer Heizquelle in den Pyrolysetemperaturbereich gebracht werden.
- Bei bestimmten Ausführungsbeispielen werden die Formationsfluide, einschließlich Pyrolysierfluide, aus der Formation gefördert. Wenn die Temperatur der Formation zunimmt, kann die Menge an kondensierbaren Kohlenwasserstoffen in dem geförderten Formationsfluid abnehmen. Bei hohen Temperaturen kann die Formation hauptsächlich Methan und/oder Wasserstoff produzieren. Wenn die kohlenwasserstoffhaltige Formation über einen gesamten Pyrolysebereich erhitzt wird, kann die Formation nur kleine Mengen an Wasserstoff gegen eine obere Grenze des Pyrolysebereiches erzeugen. Nachdem der Großteil des verfügbaren Wasserstoffes erschöpft ist, wird typischerweise eine minimale Menge an Fluidförderung aus der Formation auftreten.
- Nach der Pyrolyse der Kohlenwasserstoffe kann immer noch eine große Menge an Kohlenstoff und einiger Wasserstoff in dem erhitzten Teil der Formation vorhanden sein. Ein signifikanter Teil des Kohlenstoffes, der in dem erhitzten Teil der Formation verbleibt, kann aus der Formation in Form von Synthesegas gefördert werden. Die Synthesegaserzeugung kann während der Stufe 3 des Erhitzens durchgeführt werden, die in
1 gezeigt ist. Die Stufe 3 kann das Erhitzen des erhitzten Teiles der Formation auf eine Temperatur umfassen, die ausreicht, um eine Synthesegaserzeugung zu ermöglichen. Beispielsweise kann Synthesegas in einem Temperaturbereich von 400°C bis 1200°C, 500°C bis 1100°C oder 550°C bis 1000°C erzeugt werden. Die Temperatur des erhitzten Teiles der Formation wird, wenn Synthesegas erzeugendes Fluid in die Formation eingebracht wird, durch die Zusammensetzung des Synthesegases bestimmt, das in der Formation erzeugt wird. Das erzeugte Synthesegas kann aus der Formation durch einen oder mehrere Förderschächte entfernt werden. -
2 zeigt eine schematische Ansicht eines Ausführungsbeispieles eines Teiles des in situ-Umwandlungssystems zum Behandeln der Formation, die Kohlenwasserstoffe enthält. Heizquellen20 werden in zumindest einem Teil der Formation angeordnet. Die Heizquellen20 können elektrische Heizeinrichtungen, wie isolierte Leiter, Leiter-in-Leitung-Heizeinrichtungen, Oberflächenbrenner, flammenlos verteilte Kombustoren und/oder natürlich verteilte Kombustoren umfassen. Die Heizquellen20 können auch andere Arten von Heizeinrichtungen umfassen. Die Heizquellen20 können Hitze auf zumindest einen Teil der Formation aufbringen, um die Kohlenwasserstoffe in der Formation zu erhitzen. Den Heizquellen20 kann durch Versorgungsleitungen22 Energie zugeführt werden. Die Versorgungsleitungen22 können strukturell verschieden sein, abhängig von der Art der Heizquelle oder den Heizquellen, die verwendet werden, um die Formation zu erhitzen. Die Versorgungsleitungen22 für die Heizquellen können Elektrizität für elektrische Heizeinrichtungen übertragen, können Brennstoff für Kombustoren transportieren, oder Wärmeaustauschfluid transportieren, das in die Formation zirkuliert wird. - Die Förderschächte
24 werden verwendet, um das Formationsfluid aus der Formation zu entfernen. Formationsfluid, das aus den Förderschächten24 gefördert wird, kann durch Sammelleitungen26 zu Behandlungsanlagen28 transportiert werden. Formationsfluide können auch aus den Heizquellen20 erzeugt werden. Beispielsweise kann Fluid aus den Heizquellen20 erzeugt werden, um den Druck in der Formation nahe den Heizquellen zu kontrollieren. Fluid, das aus den Heizquellen20 produziert wird, kann durch Leitungen oder Rohre zum Sammelrohr26 transportiert werden, oder das produzierte Fluid kann durch Rohre oder Leitungen direkt zu den Behandlungsanlagen28 transportiert werden. Die Behandlungsanlagen28 können Abscheideeinheiten, Reaktionseinheiten, Upgrade-Einheiten, Brennstoffzellen, Turbinen, Vorratsgefäße und/oder andere Systeme und Einheiten zum Verarbeiten der geförderten Formationsfluide umfassen. - Das in situ-Umwandlungssystem zum Behandeln von Kohlenwasserstoffen kann Barriereschächte
30 umfassen. Barriereschächte werden verwendet, um eine Barriere um eine Behandlungszone zu formen. Die Barriere verhindert ein Einströmen von Fluid in die und/oder aus der Behandlungszone. Barriereschächte umfassen, sind aber nicht beschränkt auf Entwässerungsschächte, Vakuumschächte, Fangschächte, Einspritzschächte, Zementschächte, Gefrierschächte oder Kombinationen derselben. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen sind die Barriereschächte30 Entwässerungsschächte. Entwässerungsschächte können flüssiges Wasser entfernen und/oder flüssiges Wasser daran hindern, in den zu er hitzenden Teil der Formation oder in die erhitzte Formation einzutreten. Bei dem Ausführungsbeispiel nach2 sind die Entwässerungsschächte gezeigt, wie sich nur entlang einer Seite der Heizquellen20 erstrecken, doch umgeben Entwässerungsschächte typischerweise alle Heizquellen20 , die verwendet werden oder verwendet werden sollen, um die Formation zu erhitzen. - Wie in
2 zeigt, sind zusätzlich zu den Heizquellen20 ein oder mehrere Förderschächte24 in der Formation angeordnet. Formationsfluide können in dem Förderschacht24 erzeugt werden. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen umfaßt der Förderschacht24 eine Heizquelle. Die Heizquelle in dem Förderschacht kann einen oder mehrere Teile der Formation an oder nahe dem Förderschacht erhitzen und gestattet ein Entfernen der Dampfphase der Formationsfluide. Das Erfordernis für ein Hochtemperaturpumpen von Flüssigkeiten aus dem Förderschacht kann reduziert oder eliminiert werden. Die Vermeidung oder die Begrenzung des Hochtemperaturpumpens von Flüssigkeiten kann die Förderkosten signifikant senken. Das Aufbringen von Hitze an oder durch den Förderschacht kann: (1) das Kondensieren und/oder das Rückströmen des geförderten Fluids verhindern, wenn sich ein solches gefördertes Fluid durch den Förderschacht nahe der Überlage bewegt, (2) den Hitzeeintrag in die Formation erhöhen, und/oder (3) die Formationsdurchlässigkeit an oder nahe dem Förderschacht erhöhen. Bei einigen Ausführungsformen von in situ-Umwandlungsverfahren ist die Menge an Hitze, die der Formation aus einem Förderschacht pro Meter des Förderschachtes zugeführt wird, kleiner als die Menge an Hitze, die auf die Formation aus einer Heizquelle aufgebracht wird, welche die Formation pro Meter der Heizquelle erhitzt. - Eine potentielle Quelle für Hitzeverlust aus der erhitzten Formation ist das Rückströmen in einem Schacht. Rückströmen tritt auf, wenn Dampf in dem Schacht kondensiert und in einen Teil des Schachtes nahe dem erhitzten Teil der Formation strömt. Dämpfe können in einem Schacht nahe der Überlage der Formation kondensieren, um kondensiertes Fluid zu bilden. Kondensiertes Fluid, das in den Schacht nahe der erhitzten Formation strömt, absorbiert Hitze aus der Formation. Die von kondensierten Fluide absorbierte Hitze kühlt die Formation und erfordert einen zusätzlichen Energieeinsatz in die Formation, um die Formation auf einer erwünschten Temperatur zu halten. Einige Fluide kondensieren in der Überlage an Strömen in dem Teil des Schachtes nahe der erhitzten Formation und können reagieren, um unerwünschte Verbindungen und/oder Koks zu erzeugen. Fluide am Rückströmen zu hindern, kann die Wärmewirksamkeit des in situ-Umwandlungssystems und/oder die Qualität des Produktes verbessern, das in dem in situ-Umwandlungssystem erzeugt wird.
- Bei einigen Schachtausführungen wird der Teil des Schachtes nahe dem Überlageabschnitt der Formation an die Formation zementiert. Bei einigen Schachtausführungen umfaßt der Schacht Dichtungsmaterial, das nahe dem Übergang von dem erhitzten Abschnitt der Formation zur Überlage angeordnet wird. Das Dichtungsmaterial kann verhindern, daß Formationsfluid aus dem erhitzten Abschnitt der Formation in den Abschnitt der Schachtbohrung nahe der Überlage strömt. Kabel, Leitungen, Vorrichtungen und/oder Instrumente können sich durch das Dichtungsmaterial bewegen, das Dichtungsmaterial hindert aber das Formationsfluid daran, in der Schachtbohrung nahe dem Überlageabschnitt der Formation nach oben zu strömen.
- Der Strom des geförderten Fluids durch den Schacht zur Oberfläche ist bei einigen Arten von Schächten erwünscht, speziell bei Förderschächten. Der Strom des Förderfluids durch den Schacht ist auch für einige Heizschächte erwünscht, die ver wendet werden, um den Druck in der Formation zu kontrollieren. Die Überlage oder eine Leitung im Schacht, die zum Transport des Formationsfluids aus dem erhitzten Teil der Formation zur Oberfläche verwendet wird, kann erhitzt werden, um das Kondensieren an oder in der Leitung zu verhindern. Das Aufbringen von Hitze in der Überlage kann jedoch kostspielig sein und/oder zum erhöhten Cracken oder Koksen des Formationsfluids führen, wenn das Formationsfluid aus der Formation gefördert wird.
- Um das Erfordernis des Erhitzens der Überlage oder des Erhitzens der Leitung zu vermeiden, die sich durch die Überlage erstreckt, können eine oder mehrere Ablenker in der Schachtbohrung angeordnet werden, um das Fluid daran zu hindern, in die Schachtbohrung nahe dem erhitzten Teil der Formation zurückzuströmen. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen erhält der Ablenker das Fluid oberhalb des erhitzten Teiles des Formation. Fluid, das in dem Ablenker zurückgehalten wird, kann aus dem Ablenker unter Verwendung einer Pumpe, Gaslift- und/oder anderen Fluidentfernungstechniken entfernt werden. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen führt der Ablenker das Fluid zu einer Pumpe, einer Gasliftanordnung oder einer anderen Fluidentfernungsvorrichtung, die unterhalb des erhitzten Teiles der Formation angeordnet ist.

3 zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel eines Ablenkers in einem Förderschacht. Der Förderschacht24 umfaßt eine Leitung32 . Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen ist der Ablenker34 an die Förderleitung32 gekoppelt oder nahe derselben in der Überlage36 angeordnet. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen wird der Ablenker im erhitzten Teil der Formation angeordnet. Der Ablenker34 kann an oder nahe einer Grenzfläche der Überlage36 und der Kohlenwasserstofflage38 angeordnet werden. Die Kohlenwasserstofflage38 wird durch Heizquellen, die in der Formation angeordnet sind, erhitzt. Der Ablenker34 kann eine Dichtung40 , einen Riser42 und eine Dichtung44 in der Förderleitung32 aufweisen. Formationsfluid in der Dampfphase aus der erhitzten Formation bewegt sich aus der kohlenwasserstoffhaltigen Lage38 in den Riser42 . Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen ist der Riser42 unterhalb der Packung40 perforiert, um die Bewegung des Fluids in den Riser zu erleichtern. Die Packung40 verhindert den Durchgang des Dampfphasen-Formationsfluids in einen oberen Teil des Förderschachtes24 . Formationsfluid in der Dampfphase bewegt sich durch den Riser42 in die Förderleitung32 . Ein nicht-kondensierbarer Teil des Formationsfluids steigt durch die Förderleitung32 zur Oberfläche. Das Dampfphasen-Formationsfluid in der Förderleitung32 kann abkühlen, wenn es gegen die Oberfläche in der Förderleitung hochsteigt. Wenn ein Teil des Dampfphasen-Formationsfluids in der Förderleitung32 zur Flüssigkeit kondensiert, strömt die Flüssigkeit unter Schwerkraft gegen die Dichtung44 . Die Dichtung44 verhindert, daß Flüssigkeit in den erhitzten Teil der Formation eintritt. Flüssigkeit, die oberhalb der Dichtung44 gesammelt wird, wird durch die Pumpe46 durch die Leitung48 entfernt. Die Pumpe46 kann eine Gestängepumpe, eine elektrische Pumpe oder eine Progressiv-Hohlraumpumpe (Moyno-Pumpe) sein, ist aber nicht darauf beschränkt. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen wird die Flüssigkeit oberhalb der Dichtung44 durch die Leitung48 mit Hilfe von Gas angehoben. Das geförderte kondensierte Fluid kann die Kosten reduzieren, die mit dem Entfernen von Hitze aus den Fluiden am Schachtkopf des Förderschachtes verbunden sind. - Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen umfaßt der Förderschacht
24 eine Heizeinrichtung50 . Eine Heizeinrichtung50 liefert Hitze, um Flüssigkeiten in einem Teil des Förderschachtes24 nahe der kohlenwasserstoffhaltigen Lage38 zu verdampfen. Die Heizeinrichtung50 kann in dem Förderschacht32 angeordnet oder an die Außenseite des Förderschachtes gekuppelt sein. Bei Ausführungsbeispielen, bei denen die Heizeinrichtung außerhalb des Förderschachtes angeordnet ist, erstreckt sich ein Teil der Heizeinrichtung durch das Packungsmaterial. - Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen kann in den Förderschacht
32 und/oder die Leitung48 ein Verdünnungsmittel eingebracht werden. Das Verdünnungsmittel wird verwendet, um ein Verlegen der Förderleitung32 , der Pumpe46 und/oder der Leitung48 zu verhindern. Das Verdünnungsmittel kann, ist aber nicht auf Wasser, einen Alkohol, ein Lösungsmittel oder ein Oberflächenagens beschränkt. - Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen erstreckt sich der Riser
42 zur Oberfläche des Förderschachtes24 . Perforationen und ein Ablenker im Riser42 , die oberhalb der Dichtung44 angeordnet sind, leiten die kondensierte Flüssigkeit aus dem Riser in die Förderleitung32 . - Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen können in dem Förderschacht zwei oder mehr Ablenker angeordnet werden. Zwei oder mehr Ablenker stellen auf einfache Weise die Trennung der anfänglichen Fraktion und des kondensierten Fluids sicher, das in dem in situ-Umwandlungssystem erzeugt wird. Eine Pumpe kann in jedem Ablenker angeordnet werden, um das kondensierte Fluid aus dem Ablenker zu entfernen.
- Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen können Fluide (Gase und Flüssigkeiten) unter Verwendung des Ablenkers zum Boden des Förderschachtes geleitet werden. Die Fluide können vom Boden des Förderschachtes weg gefördert werden.
4 zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel des Ablenkers, der Fluid gegen den Boden des Förderschachtes richtet. Der Ablenker34 kann Packungsmaterial40 und ein Baffle52 aufweisen, die in dem Förder schacht32 angeordnet sind. Das Baffle kann ein Rohr sein, das um die Leitung48 herum angeordnet ist. Die Förderleitung32 kann Öffnungen54 haben, die gestatten, daß Fluid aus der kohlenwasserstoffhaltigen Lage38 in die Förderleitung eintritt. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen sind alle oder ein Teil der Öffnungen nahe der nicht-kohlenwasserstoffhaltigen Lage der Formation angeordnet, durch welche das erhitzte Formationsfluid strömt. Die Öffnungen54 umfassen, sind aber nicht beschränkt auf Siebe, Perforationen, Schlitze und/oder andere Schlitze. Die kohlenwasserstoffhaltige Lage38 kann unter Verwendung von Heizeinrichtungen, die in anderen Teilen der Formation angeordnet sind, und/oder einer Heizeinrichtung, die in der Förderleitung32 angeordnet ist, erhitzt werden. - Baffles
52 und das Packungsmaterial40 leiten das Formationsfluid, welches in die Förderleitung32 eintritt, zu einer nicht erhitzten Zone56 . Die nicht erhitzte Zone56 befindet sich in der Unterlage der Formation. Ein Teil des Formationsfluids kann auf der Außenfläche des Baffle52 oder an den Wänden der Förderleitung32 nahe der unerhitzten Zone56 kondensieren. Flüssiges Fluid aus der Formation und/oder kondensiertes Fluid können unter Schwerkraft zum Bodenteil der Förderleitung32 strömen. Flüssigkeit und Kondensat in dem Bodenteil der Förderleitung32 können durch die Leitung48 unter Verwendung der Pumpe46 zur Oberfläche gepumpt werden. Die Pumpe46 kann 1 m, 5 m, 10 m, 20 m oder mehr in der Unterlage angeordnet sein. Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen kann die Pumpe in einem nicht ausgekleideten (offenen) Teil der Schachtbohrung vorgesehen sein. Nicht-kondensiertes Fluid, das anfänglich durch den Ringraum zwischen dem Baffle52 und der Leitung48 und dann durch den Ringraum zwischen der Förderleitung32 und der Leitung48 zur Oberfläche strömt, ist durch Pfeile in4 angedeutet. Wenn ein Teil des nicht-kondensierten Fluids nahe der Überlage36 kondensiert, während er zur Oberflä che strömt, strömt das kondensierte Fluid unter Schwerkraft gegen den Bodenteil der Förderleitung32 zum Einlaß der Pumpe46 . Hitze, die von dem kondensierten Fluid absorbiert wird, während sich das Fluid durch den erhitzten Teil der Formation bewegt, stammt aus dem Kontakt mit dem Baffle52 , nicht aus direktem Kontakt mit der Formation. Das Baffle52 wird durch das Formationsfluid und durch Strahlungswärmetransfer aus der Formation erhitzt. Signifikant weniger Hitze aus der Formation wird auf das kondensierte Fluid übertragen, wenn das Fluid durch das Baffle52 nahe dem erhitzten Teil strömt, statt im Falle das kondensierte Fluid die Formation kontaktiert hätte. Das kondensierte Fluid, das an dem Baffle herunterströmt, kann genügend Hitze aus dem Dampf in der Schachtbohrung absorbieren, um einen Teil des Dampfes an der äußeren Fläche des Baffle52 zu kondensieren. Der kondensierte Teil des Dampfes kann das Baffle nach unten zum Bodenteil der Schachtbohrung strömen. - Bei einigen Ausführungsformen kann ein Verdünnungsmittel in die Förderleitung
32 und/oder die Leitung48 eingebracht werden. Das Verdünnungsmittel wird verwendet, um ein Verlegen der Förderleitung32 , der Pumpe46 und der Leitung48 zu verhindern. Das Verdünnungsmittel kann umfassen, ist aber nicht beschränkt auf Wasser, einen Alkohol, ein Lösungsmittel, ein Oberflächenreagens oder Kombinationen derselben. Verschiedene Verdünnungsmittel können zu verschiedenen Zeiten eingebracht werden. Beispielswiese kann ein Lösungsmittel eingebracht werden, sobald die Produktion beginnt, um hochmolekulargewichtige Kohlenwasserstoffe in Lösung zu bringen, die anfänglich aus der Formation gefördert werden. Zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt kann Wasser für das Lösungsmittel substituiert werden. - Bei einigen Ausführungsbeispielen kann eine separate Leitung das Verdünnungsmittel in die Schachtbohrung nahe der Unterlage einführen, wie
5 zeigt. Die Förderleitung32 leitet den Dampf, der in der Formation gefördert wird, durch die Überlage36 zur Oberfläche. Wenn ein Teil des Dampfes in der Förderleitung32 kondensiert, kann das Kondensat an dem Baffle52 nach unten zum Einlaß der Pumpe46 strömen. Der Ablenker34 , der das Packungsmaterial40 und das Baffle52 aufweist, richtet den Formationsfluidstrom von der erhitzten kohlenwasserstoffhaltigen Lage38 zur nicht erhitzten Zone56 . Flüssiges Formationsfluid wird durch die Pumpe46 über die Leitung48 zur Oberfläche transportiert. Dampfformationsfluid wird durch das Baffle52 zur Förderleitung32 transportiert. Die Leitung58 kann an das Baffle52 angebunden sein. Die Leitung58 kann das Verdünnungsmittel in die Schachtbohrung60 nahe der nicht erhitzten Zone56 einbringen. Das Verdünnungsmittel kann die Kondensation des Formationsfluids begünstigen und/oder das Verlegen der Pumpe46 verhindern. Das Verdünnungsmittel in der Leitung58 kann ein Hochdruckmittel sein. Wenn das Verdünnungsmittel die Phase von Flüssigkeit zu Dampf ändert, während es durch den erhitzten Teil der Formation strömt, gestattet die Druckänderung, wenn das Verdünnungsmittel die Leitung58 verläßt, daß das Verdünnungsmittel kondensiert. - Weitere Modifikationen und alternative Ausführungsformen von verschiedenen Aspekten der Erfindung sind dem Fachmann aufgrund dieser Beschreibung verständlich. Dementsprechend soll diese Beschreibung als illustrative Ausführung verstanden werden und dem Fachmann nur in allgemeiner Weise lehren, wie er die Erfindung auszuführen hat. Es versteht sich, daß die Formen der Erfindung, die hier gezeigt und beschrieben sind, als bevorzugte Ausführungsbeispiele angesehen werden. Elemente und Materialien können für die dargestellten substituiert werden, und Teile und Verfahren können umgekehrt werden; bestimmte Merkmale der Erfindung können unabhängig voneinander verwendet werden, wie dies dem Fachmann nach dem Studium der Beschrei bung der Erfindung ersichtlich ist. Änderungen können an den beschriebenen Elemente vorgenommen werden, ohne vom Geist und Schutzumfang der Erfindung, wie aus den nachfolgenden Ansprüchen hervorgeht, abzuweichen. Zusätzlich versteht sich, daß die beschriebenen Merkmale, soweit sie unabhängig sind, bei bestimmten Ausführungsbeispielen kombiniert werden können.
Claims (11)
- Verfahren zum Behandeln einer unterirdischen Formation (
38 ), bei welchem: Heizeinrichtungen (20 ) verwendet werden, um einen erhitzten Teil der unterirdischen Formation (38 ) zu erzeugen; eine Förderleitung (32 ) verwendet wird, um Formationsfluid in einer Dampfphase aus dem erhitzten Teil der unterirdischen Formation (38 ) gegen eine Fläche der unterirdischen Formation zu richten; und Kondensat des Dampfphasen-Formationsfluids in oder nahe der Förderleitung (32 ) gebildet wird; dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Kondensat des Dampfphasen-Formationsfluids zu einer Stelle (56 ) unterhalb des erhitzen Teiles der Formation (38 ) umgeleitet wird. - Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, bei welchem ferner die Flüssigkeit aus der Förderleitung (
32 ) gepumpt wird. - Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, bei welchem ferner die Flüssigkeit aus der Förderleitung (
32 ) durch ein Gas angehoben wird. - Verfahren nach Anspruch 2 oder 3, bei welchem die Flüssigkeit durch eine Leitung (
48 ) entfernt wird. - Verfahren nach Anspruch 4, bei welchem der Leitung (
48 ) ein Verdünnungsmittel zugesetzt wird. - Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1–5, bei welchem der Förderleitung (
32 ) ein Verdünnungsmittel zugesetzt wird. - Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1–6, bei welchem ein Einbau (
52 ) verwendet wird, um das Kondensat von unterhalb des erhitzten Teiles der Formation (38 ) zu oberhalb des erhitzten Teiles der Formation (38 ) umzuleiten. - Verfahren nach Anspruch 7, bei welchem ein Teil der Förderleitung (
32 ) erhitzt wird, um sicherzustellen, daß Formationsfluid, das durch die Förderleitung (32 ) strömt, Dampf ist. - Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, bei welchem ferner die Flüssigkeit mit einer Pumpe (
46 ) gepumpt wird, die unterhalb des erhitzten Teiles der Formation (38 ) angeordnet ist. - Verfahren nach Anspruch 9, bei welchem ein Verdünnungsmittel unterhalb des erhitzten Teiles der Formation (
38 ) eingeführt wird. - Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, bei welchem verhindert wird, daß Kondensat zum erhitzten Teil der unterirdischen Formation (
38 ) zurückkehrt.
