Abstract
The invention relates to a packaging having accommodated in it a product (3) which is visible from outside and can be examined from outside, comprising a passage (12) arranged in said packaging which is accessible from outside and leads to the space where the product is located, and is characterized by retaining means which on the one hand are connected to said product and on the other are connected to said packaging, and which are substantially inaccessible from outside via said passage.
Preferably a separate partition (34) used is provided with at least two grooves (35, 36, 37, 38) located at an interval from each other and facing the product space, each of which comprises a barb element (40, 41, 42, 43) extending to the interior of said groove, behind which barb element hooks a packaging edge placed in said groove.
Furthermore the invention relates to a packaging flat for forming a packaging provided with the inventive retaining means.
Description
- The current invention relates to a packaging having accommodated in it a product which is visible from outside and can be examined from outside, comprising a passage arranged in the packaging which is accessible from outside and which leads to the space where the product is located.
- Accommodated as a product in such a packaging is for example a natural chamois leather, shawl or the like.
- Experience has shown that, after examination of the product, packaging and product are separated and the product is stolen because it can be smuggled away in a simple manner.
- The invention has for its object to improve the packaging of the type mentioned in the preamble in that the risk of theft of the product is reduced. This is achieved according to the invention because the packaging features retaining means which on the one hand are connected for release to the product and on the other are connected to the packaging, and which are substantially inaccessible from outside via the passage.
- Since also during examination packaging and product are not separated in a simple manner, theft is less of a temptation because a relatively bulky packaging also has to be concealed along with the product.
- The retaining means preferably comprise a partition arranged in the packaging and provided with an opening, and a retaining member co-operating with the opening.
- In a first embodiment the partition is provided with at least one lip forming the retaining member. The partition is preferably a separate partition, so that it can be manufactured from another material that is better suited for performing the retaining function. An adequate and reliable inner partition retaining the product results if the separate partition is provided with at least two grooves located at an interval from each other and facing the product space, each of which comprises a barb element extending to the interior of the groove, behind which barb element hooks a packaging edge placed in the groove. It is favourable here if the packaging edge forms an opening edge of an opening arranged in an interior packaging flap and the barb element protrudes through this opening.
- In a second embodiment the retaining member is a separate member and is located in the space separated off from a product compartment by the partition, whereby a projection of the retaining member preferably corresponds with an opening part, in this way the retaining member and a part of the product connected for release to it can be drawn via the passage and through the opening into the partition, so that a comparatively simple assembly results.
- The retaining member is preferably "Z"-shaped.
- A very advantageous embodiment of the packaging results if another unknown product is present in the space closed off by the partition.
- Mentioned and other characteristics of the packaging according to the invention will be elucidated with reference to three embodiments, these being given only by way of example.
- In the drawing:
- Fig. 1 and 2 each show a perspective, partly broken away view of respectively a first and a second embodiment of the packaging according to the invention;
- Fig. 3 shows on another scale a flat with a separate partition for the packaging as in fig. 2; and
- Fig. 4 is another perspective view of a third embodiment of a packaging according to the invention in which another product is also packaged.
- Fig. 1 shows a packaging 1 according to the invention. Packaging 1 has the form of an
elongate box 2 with substantially a square section. Accommodated inbox 2 is aproduct 3, for example a chamois leather or shawl. - The
product 3 is connected for release with its end 4 to retaining means 5 which are fixed firmly tobox 2. - Retaining means 5 comprise a
partition 6 arranged inbox 2 which is glued inbox 2 using two edges 7 and 8. Thepartition 6 is provided with an opening 9 which is created by folding out a lip 10. Lip 10 is the result of making a reversed "V"-shaped cut in thepartition 6. - If the
product 3 is pulled outwards via thepassage 12 for the purpose of examination, the lip 10 will pivot back towards the opening 9 and thereby clamp the end 4 ofproduct 3 and prevent it passing through the opening 9. In this way packaging 1 andproduct 3 cannot be separated from each other. - Separation can be brought about after an opening is made in
box 2 from the cutting hole 14 usingscissors 13, so that through this opening the lip 10 of opening 9 can be pivoted away and theproduct 3 can leave thebox 2. - This separation operation is on the one hand so drastic that it cannot take place at a display place, whereby theft is prevented, and on the other hand so simple that it can be performed after purchase with reasonably simple means.
- The dimension of the
passage 12 is preferably chosen such that the opening 9 is not accessible from thepassage 12 in a simple manner with a tool or with the fingers. - The
end 15 ofbox 2 is closed with an end-wall 16 which is firmly attached inbox 2. - Fig. 3 and 4 show a
packaging 31 which consists of abox 33 folded from a flat 32 and aseparate partition 34. - The
partition 34 which is manufactured from a plastic is provided in each case with twogrooves product space 39 situated betweenpassage 12 andpartition 34.Grooves barb element exterior groove walls respective groove - The
central part 44 of thepartition 34 enclosed by the grooves 35-38 is provided with a passage 45 for the product and, co-operating with it, lips 46-49 formed by a crosscut. - The flat 32 comprises four central portions 50-53 of which
central portion 50 is provided with anadhesive edge 54 and each of which is further provided with an end portion 55-58. - On the other side the central portions 50-53 are provided with packaging flaps 59-62 to be folded inwards, which are glued to the respective central flaps 50-53. The
flaps packaging edge rectangular opening 65. Theedges central portions - During assembly of the
packaging 31 thepackaging edges grooves barb elements openings 65 and so enclose thepackaging edges grooves adhesive edge 54 is then glued to thecentral portion 53 and the end portions 55-58 are subsequently folded inwards and glued together, forming anend wall 66. Theparts 67 of the central portions 50-53 located between the end portions 55-58 and the packaging flaps 59-62 form with theend wall 66 and thepartition 34 thegift space 68. The packaging flaps 59-62 glued to the central portions 50-53 form theproduct space 39. - Depending on the manner of packing it is possible, after assembly of
packaging 31, first to placeproduct 3 with an end 4 through the passage 45. On the other hand it is also possible first to connectproduct 3 for release to thepartition 34, after whichpackaging 31 is assembled. - Fig. 4 shows a third embodiment of the
packaging 2 according to the invention. - In this case the retaining means 17 consist on the one hand of a
partition 18 having in it a circular opening 19 and twoslots shaped retaining member 22. The opening portion formed byslots member 22 can pass through it, while at the same time anend 23 ofproduct 3 passes through the opening 19. Theproduct 3 can thus be snared in a relatively simple way inpackaging 2 using theretaining member 22. Thespace 24 closed off bypartition 18 has a volume such that another product, for example a surprise, can be accommodated in it without its presence being observed from the outside of the product. After insertion of theproduct 25 thespace 24 is closed off bygluing edges 26 to the box-shaped packaging 2. - Only by forcing an opening to the
space 24 using atool 28 from cuttinghole 27 can the releasable connection between the retainingmember 22 and theproduct 3 be broken, so that both can be separated from each other. - The retaining
member 22 is provided with twoindentations product 3. - It will be apparent that various other embodiments of the retaining means 5 and 17 described can be applied for holding in place in a packaging a product that can be seen and examined from outside. Within the framework of the invention fall all those retaining means which are on the one hand fixed to and on the other free of the packaging, while nevertheless being retained in the packaging when efforts are made to separate packaging and product from each other and the
product 3 is taken hold of for this purpose.
