Abstract

Ein Formzylinder in einer Offsetdruckmaschine, der mittels eines Thermotransferverfahrens direkt bebildert wird, weist einen strahlungsdurchlässigen Zylindermantel und in seinem Inneren wenigstens eine auf die innere Mantelfläche gerichtete Strahlungsquelle auf. Die Strahlungsquelle kann sichtbares Licht, infrarote, ultraviolette oder auch elektromagnetische Strahlen aussenden. Die durch diese Strahlung übertragene Energie kann dazu verwendet werden, den Zylindermantel vorzuwärmen, das Herausschmelzen der für die Bebilderung benötigten Substanzteile aus einer Thermotransferfolie zu bewirken oder zu unterstützen, die Substanzteile auf der äußeren Mantelfläche zu verfestigen bzw. einzubrennen oder das Entfernen der Substanzteile nach Beendigung des Druckvorgangs durch Erwärmung oder Zersetzung zu unterstützen bzw. zu bewirken.
